Right now i have to put the “chore” in the reward bar and the reward in the behavior bar as the chore because it makes more sense to me lol. Really easy to use otherwise!! Love it! ### 4/5 — Autistic son loves the cat video *2011-12-20* It is great to have my reward chart with me at all times since it is on my iPhone. My son is more interested in getting to see the cat video than the actual rewards, so I'd love to be able to add more videos when he tires of this one. Otherwise, we really like it. ### 4/5 — Simple, but effective *2010-12-07* I used this for the first time last night with my 19 year old autistic son. After many years of using various token economy systems he immediately grasped its intention. Although the concept is very simple he found it rewarding enough to complete requests he normally balks at uncomplainingly. He was more interactive with me as he counted down the remaining stars with each completed task. And he knew all along he was working for 1 hour of computer time so there were less protests when his time was up on the computer. I'm getting him an iPad for Christmas so I'm testing out apps now and this one definitely is going to be used. About the only thing I'd like to see added is the ability to customize the vocal praise by recording your own. Now if Apple will add time limits to their parental controls on the iPad I'll be a happy camper. LOL. ### 4/5 — Great App! *2010-11-01* I can't believe how rewarding this app is! Just inputting the information makes you stop and think how the balance of work and reward is pleasurable and satisfying. Wish: Sure would like to be able to rearrange the behaviors in the order I plan to have them done.... Thank you both! ### 5/5 — iReward *2010-06-02* I was very pleased with this app! It is easy to use & individualize for my child's goals. She has Asperger's so use of a token economy such as this is very helpful. Not to say it could not be used for any child, because it can. My daughter loves setting a goal, picking out the reward, & placing a star each time she completes a task on the list. It is also helpful as it is portable; imagine carrying a sticker chart everywhere you went (no fun). My only suggestion for future apps is increasing the goal to > 10. Then, bigger goals/rewards could be implemented. Overall, more than worth the price of $1.99! You would easily spend more than that on sticker charts & you can use it repeatedly. ### 5/5 — Great! *2010-05-24* This app is wonderful. I am a teacher and also a mother to two boys. My youngest has mild developmental delay, and is benefitting so much from the app. He loves technology, so using the iPhone to reward his behaviors has been a great tool. I have shared the app with colleagues, who are equally impresed with the features as well as the low price. Can also be used at home for your own children (if you make your bed every day for 7 days we get to have family game night). I am an elementary special education teacher. I work with young children who have moderate to severe autism. I am very excited as I will be launching a 1:1 iTouch project with my class this fall! I plan to incorporate both your apps into the project. iRewards is actually an app I have been hoping someone would develop. Several of my students rely on a token reinforcement system to help keep their behaviors under control. The best thing about iRewards is how users are able to cutsomize the behaviors, criteria for reinforcement, and the picture. The ability to make such customizations helps individualize the tool for each student. There are, however, a few improvements I would like to see in future updates. First, could users be offered a choice of "stickers" instead of the star? Some the "stickers" my students use are smiley faces, checkmarks, favorite cartoon/TV characters, etc. Second, would it be possible to program a verbal praise when the reward is earned? Also, perhaps most importantly, could users choose the video clip that plays once the reward is earned? I know the current one of cat playing piano would not be too reinforcing for some of our students. Thank you again for all the hard work you have put into developing such helpful apps! I noticed another review giving this a low review because they weren't able to remove the default information. All you need to do is swipe across the name of the child or the behavior/reward and a delete button will appear. So far, this is working fantastic at getting my son to earn rewards for what he accomplishes. I'm going to be integrating this app with his school since he does so well on the reward system. The developer has some great tutorials on their website. ### 5/5 — Fixed My Problem *2012-10-01* I updated and then panicked because I couldn't unlock my rewards by shaking the iPad the way i could before. Then I discovered that the lock feature (which I find really useful) is still there but you must lock the orientation. So my review is back to 5 stars. This is a great personalized app. I like that you can have an actual photo of the reward. ### 5/5 — Great for reducing the stigma associated with earning charts! *2012-05-07* Anyone how has worked in the field of special education has probably seen student earning charts designed to capture student interest. These teacher-created charts sometimes feature stick-on Velcro pictures or whiteboard checklists. While they are highly motivating and effective, traditional earning charts are also stigmatizing. There is no mistaking that the student carrying the chart to class is “different” from the rest of the students. iReward changes all that. Using an iPod, iPad, or iPhone, teachers can setup a variety of different earning charts for one student, or many students. Gone are the days of laminating and cutting out photos to attach to an earning chart. With iReward, educators simply use the internal camera or Google Image search to find an appropriate image. What sets iReward apart from traditional earning charts is the fact that it is not as stigmatizing. Students carrying portable electronic devices look very much like any other student. The small screen of an iPod or iPhone makes it easy to record student progress discretely. ### 5/5 — excellent tool *2011-09-30, version 3.01* This is a fantastic visual schedule to let children see how they are travelling in working towards a goal reward. This will be great for my two ASD boys. A big heartfelt thanks to the developer for offering iReward in the "A4cwsn app party," this app will be a great assest to many special needs families! ### 5/5 — Great and versatile app *2011-09-26* This is a really nice app for creating reward charts for your children - for chores, for good behavior, doing homework or whatever you wish. It is easy to set up for multiple children. You can use your own photos but I really love using the image search to find great pictures to customise the app. It is really flexible - you get to set the rewards, how many (stars, smiley faces, check marks etc) they need to earn to get the rewards. Each child chart can be different , but if you want to use the same chore/ reward for multiple children its easy to cut and paste too. You can also take away stars etc if you need to too. The ability to use your own photos/pictures is also wonderful. Helps for those that are visual learners and can't read. But I love that it is so easy to use. I am an SLP who uses iReward to help my students with autism anticipate the end of an activity or to provide incentive to complete a difficult task. I think it's a great concrete way to encourage kids with positive discipline - it's especially good for preschoolers. We have used a token board for a while and this replaces that. I dont have a clipboard with velcro all over it and tokens that can be a choking hazard. That is a thing of the past. This is fantastic. It still gives him something tangible when he completes a task and he loves it. When task is complete is says "Great job. You did it!" He loved it . He was all smiles. I work at a school for children affected by autism and the school and the therapist are all impressed as well. They are going to get it for themselves. And if that isnt enough.
