Running iOS 16.1.1. Have deleted and reinstalled this app. When running it only gets as far as the graphic start up and then crashes. My iridium go now does not have any telephone or other features that this app supplies. Iridium please update this app. Crazy that you have forgotten about your customers. ### 1/5 — Keeps shutting down *2022-11-07, version 1.6.33* App goes through intro screens explaining all the wonderful things it can do and then shuts down before it even get to the login screen. Have deleted and reloaded twice. IPhone 11 latest IOS. Works fine with on my other phone which is identical. Very nervous that it will stop working on passage and we won’t have communication! ### 1/5 — App will not work on IOS 16 *2022-11-03, version 1.6.33* Very very disappointed that the app will not work on my iPhone 12 running iOS 16.0.2 (20A380) as I’m about to set off on an offshore sailing trip. Only saving feature is that it seems to work on an old iPad Pro v1 running iOS 15.7 (19H12) - but that isn’t optimal in the cockpit of my sailing boat. ### 1/5 — App simply doesn’t work - waste of $ *2022-10-29, version 1.6.33* You can do every conceivable maneuver- the App will not connect with the device. The device works well, but the Go! App simply will not connect, rendering this useless. The iridium go app - which is necessary for the operation of the not so cheap iridium go + subscription does not work at all on iOS 16. Definitely tried everything to get it to connect to the device but it just won’t work. This renders the iridium go basically useless. The mail app and predictwind offshore do work, interestingly enough. Get your stuff together iridium! ### 1/5 — The worst app ever, hands down *2022-05-12, version 1.6.33* If I could give it a zero stars I would. I bought an Iridium Go! Unit three months ago in March 2022 to use on my first ocean and single-handed crossing from Panama to French Polynesia. The app sucked from day one, but I persisted on my iPhone 8. In addition to all the hassles others have described, the text is so small I simply could not use it, so I would write in Notes and copy and paste. Then I overloaded it with too many texts, I have the Unlimited plan, and it just got all screwed up. Only solution was to delete all threads and start afresh! And the Iridium unit itself just stops working about once a week, only way to restart is remove the battery and put it back in. I fully get that this is a slow and tricky satellite system, and the hardware is mostly amazing, but be very careful with the tiny external antenna plug and the tricky power plug. Then I fried my iPhone8 with seawater, and now my backup iPhone 7 simply will not connect to it, luckily I have a very old iPad that does. Simply pathetic for the roughly 1000 dollars the whole system cost, not to mention the monthly fee. Come on Elon, get us sailboat folk something better to compete with Iridium, maybe that will wake them up. ### 1/5 — iPhone not connecting *2022-04-27, version 1.6.33* I have an XR iPhone and am unable to download the iridium go application. The only download part I can access are the 2 agreement pages and the advertisement pages. No log on screen at all. What’s up with that??? ### 1/5 — Iridium is terrible *2021-09-17, version 1.6.28* Iridium software and hardware is possibly the worst piece of technology I have ever dealt with. I cannot start to list the problems. ### 1/5 — Will not connect via this app *2021-07-26, version 1.6.23* Used my Iridium go without issue until the latest update (with the new icons on a dark background.). Now, it simply will not connect from the phone. Yes, I’m connecting to the Iridium hot spot. It rejects guest-guest, and any other account I try. The connection via computer browser works fine (with guest guest), but this new app is broken. I have the latest firmware on the device, and have completely removed and reloaded the iOS app as part of troubleshooting. I’ve also spent about an hour on the phone with Atlantic Radio. This is a pretty serious mess-up on the developers part. These devices are often used for safety functions. I’m sure the built in SOS function still works, but being unable to send/receive calls or texts is pretty messed up! I have deleted and downloaded the App 3 times with the same result each time. I stopped it due to monthly costs (which can now be pay as u go) and this unit works awesome with this app. Emailing is tough as we have habits of long emails or pictures but messaging and phoning works very good in very remote areas. The app works well and under pressure had no issues loading and communicating with rescue. ### 5/5 — Iridium Go Texting *2015-03-28, version 1.2* Got an Iridium go for one reason, so the boss could keep in touch through texting in the back of the Sovereign jet. Works great! Set the unit without the external antenna next to the aft cockpit window. Battery lasts a long time, way longer than we fly per day. Help Please!!! ### 3/5 — Iridium App and the Iridium Go device *2015-10-08, version 1.3.6* I spent two weeks trying out the App and the Iridium Go and as interfacing connection with Iridium while we were on the Amazon this September 2015 I found that the app on the IPhone worked well and the Go Iridium device was well put together But the limiting factor as usual was the iridium satellite bandwidth which was slow to find signal, slow to get bandwidth and a slow process connecting by phone which I accomplished a few times. They have been threatening to put new satellites for the last five years and nothing yet. We were able to use cell strength from some villages a few time and that was 100 times more efficient then using Iridium It's not likely I will use the Iridium Go again as the main satellite service is poor at best ### 3/5 — OK *2015-05-29, version 1.2* Just about OK, but will only display in portrait mode. In the “message” area, the messages are not timed correctly, in any conversation, the outgoing messages all have the same date/time stamp, putting them out of order. This might have been all the talk of 2014 but the hardware and this app feels antiquated and disconnected. You CAN get satellite coverage to work if you follow linear and unintuitive steps on a technical tightrope.
