They need to roll back to a working version of the app. The iOS version will not connect to the email server AT ALL. So if you update, be prepared to lose access to your email. Iridium, you are stranding your customers who rely on (and pay good money for) this service. You have left people on ocean crossings and in remote locations without the access to email that they rely upon and have left a faulty app up on the App Store for weeks. Shame on you. Where is your quality control and basic app functionality testing before app releases? Unacceptable performance from Iridium! ### 1/5 — No longer works *2020-01-08, version 3.0.2* After updating to the latest release I can no longer send or receive email. Please fix immediately! ### 1/5 — Email won’t connect after update *2020-01-06* Same thing as others have reported - app doesn’t work. Still have old app on my phone and it works fine. Pretty amazing. App was horrible by today’s standards before update. Now it just doesn’t work. ### 1/5 — 3.0.2 screwed me *2020-01-05* I was relying on having email access during my Atlantic crossing as I’m awaiting a very important email expected within 2 weeks. But with this update, mail won’t connect. I would urge Iridium to hurry up and release a fix, but we’re already underway. So unless they update within the next hour or so before I lose cell signal, it’s no good. They screwed me. And this update has been out for 2 weeks... how hasn’t this already been addressed?!?! ### 1/5 — Not fit for purpose *2020-01-04, version 3.0.2* Does not connect since app was updated 2 weeks ago and Iridium provides no support. Just try to hit the “support” link in the App Store - goes to a “page not found”. Users depend on this for their safety (e.g. communicating with Maritime Security while transiting the Gulf of Aden). Common Iridium, lift your game! ### 1/5 — 3.0.2 Update Won’t Connect *2020-01-03* After the latest update I cannot connect to server . No one on IOS can. You have rendered my Iridium Go useless for Mail and Web. FIX THIS NOW! ### 1/5 — Dark mode fail *2020-01-01* The latest update leaves you typing in white on white if you are in dark mode on the iPad. Renders the program impossible to use without changing your device settings. ### 1/5 — Don’t update to 3.0.2 *2019-12-30* New app version doesn’t connect to server. Iridium is supposedly working on the issue. Until it’s fixed, don’t update your app! ### 1/5 — Iridium Mail and Web *2019-12-30, version 3.0.2* Do not install this version, it will not work ### 1/5 — 3.0.2 wont work at all *2019-12-27* 3.0.1 worked well but now 3.0.2 will cause the iridium go to connect but then it won’t connect to the server... now I cannot use data!!!! What gives! ### 1/5 — Email using Iridium Go *2019-12-16, version 3.0.1* This is a truly awful piece of software that feels like a bad prototype. The interface is confusing and inconsistent, sent mails don’t always show up in sent mail, and about 1 in 10 incoming emails are simply lost. Iridium is putting up more satellites, please spend a little money on making this key bit of software work! As far as I know, there is no alternative method of sending emails with the Go. ### 1/5 — Does not recognise Iridium Go! *2018-04-06, version 2.0.8* This app can not recognise an Iridium Go, which makes commentary on the functionality of this app impossible. Long term issue that remains unfixed. Going to try Xgate as an alternative. ### 1/5 — Unable to display attachments *2017-09-11, version 2.0.5* I had previously used this app to receive emailed JPEGS of satellite images depicting ice during a sailing adventure to Greenland. It had worked well. Imagine my dismay this year when I was unable display an image I had downloaded a day before we sailed to Greenland. None of my IOS devices could display the image using this app so we went blindfold into ice strewn waters. In our case we were without crucial safety information and had received no warning from Iridium that this app no longer worked following an iOS upgrade. Not impressed! ### 1/5 — App not usable, does not fit the Ipad screen *2015-10-07, version 1.0.15* App is not opening right on the screen and make it impossible to acces the icons. ### 1/5 — C’mon Guys - Fix this or you will go out of business *2015-06-26* Ok, this is simple, FIX THIS! People need it and it does’t work. The silly “service bulletins” on the website are nonsense. You can’t tell people to turn off all of their phone features. What you need to do is make it easy for people to use. Go get with some quality APP designers and get this right. I’m also noticing increasing satellite irregularities. Listen, the core of your business is looking weak. You absolutely need to fix this or customers are going to simply look elsewhere and sooner or later, other alternatives are going to be available. Do a case study on BlackBerry before it happens to you. Ugly looking email client written by junior developer and no web at all. Why is it even called mail and web ? ### 1/5 — Never worked *2021-11-21* I never was able to get this app to work. It's rather scandalous, given how expensive their service is. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t Work *2020-07-09* Please don’t waste your money like I did. I rented one of these and it’s a joke. Stick with just a sat phone. Was on the phone with technical support for hours, just to get it to load...it never did when I was in the field with it. ### 1/5 — Criminally Bad App as Primary Interface an Expensive Paid Service *2020-05-05* The design looks to me made with Word Perfect i’m 1995. The email viewer can event scroll or format text correctly (breaks up links, can’t copy/paste correctly). This might just the worst app I’ve ever used, and I’ve used a few. I’m paying $160/month for this? ### 1/5 — App does not work for iOS *2020-02-17* I installed the Mail & Web app on my iPhone, and it does not work. I have been back and forth between Predict Wind support and Iridium support, and neither has been able to help me. Iridium said an outside app developer controls it, and I don’t know how to contact the outside developer. They are slow to correct problems. Testing is left to the user. My iPad automatically updated the app and now I am unable to connect with Iridium at all. We are on a boat in the Bahamas and depended on the Iridium Go when we do not have cell service. We are paying for a service we cannot use. Please fix it! ### 1/5 — Iridium Gone! with v3.0.2 *2020-01-14* Unfortunately I my iPhone auto updated to v3.0.2. Now I have no email at sea. I’m paying for a service I can’t receive & in particular I’m unable to get weather emails that I was counting on. Come on, Iridium Go...at least respond & tell us when you think this will be resolved. I often have to make a few attempts although the GO and my iPhone XR and 8 are only a few feet from the modem Biggest problem is that if a mail download has started it must run to completion before any other mail can download. This if a user mistakenly starts a download of a large file the system is blocked, sometimes for several hours Nothing I can find overrides this ### 2/5 — Clean it up *2015-09-30* The Iridium Mail & Web program should be clean and concise. This version seems very hobby shop. 1) the sent email mailbox should list the To email address of the email, not the from, which is obvious for sent email. 2) add the graphic that is in the upper left hand corner of the IridiumGo app so you may see the connection status. 3) in about, indicated the version of the program, not just the year. 4) why is receiving email is a two step process. Why do you need to do a connect and then go to email and send/receive when you can just use the send/receive email to send email. This is awkward. 5) should have the ability to specify how many days you want to receive grins and not default. ### 2/5 — Compatibility Issue *2015-09-04, version 1.0.15* This app will not work with my iPhone 6 Plus, even after extensive tech support. It will work, and works well, with my old iPhone 5.
