I wanted something that had a great UI for both iPhone and iPad, controls that were both simple and deep, flexible modulation and routing options, NAM and IR compatibility, auv3 (looking at you, BiasFX), a comprehensive set of fx (especially tremolo, delay and reverb), built in tuner, and (obviously) good, rich tones. This has proved a chimerical set of requirements, until now. Nothing has sounded as good as the chains I could build with dedicated, independent apps on a host. Irio has finally hit the mark. It’s so easy to build complex chains with its little wire-and-module system; I can map lfos and envelopes to practically anything without diving into a lot of complicated midi bindings. It sounds great, and it’s quick and easy to work with.
