## What is Irish Grid Ref Compass?

Find out your current location on an Ireland or Northern Ireland Map.

This app will give you your Irish Grid Ref - Ordnance Survey Ireland (OSI) / Ordnance Survey of Northern Ireland (OSNI) grid reference format - along with a Compass Bearing and Latitude and Longitude values in both OSGB36 and WGS84 formats.

The accuracy of the Device GPS signal will also be shown.

Includes a handy graphical guide to the Irish "National Grid" system.

Whilst the app will work worldwide, the values given will only be of use within the The Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland (United Kingdom).

Ideal for use Walks. Always carry a map and physical compass in addition to your iPhone.

For the best accuracy, use in an open space, away from trees or hill edges.

Like a traditional compass, use with the phone in a flat position, not upright.

When continued usage is required, you can set the iPhone Screen to stay on indefinitely, from the Settings tab.

This app requires Location Services to be enabled in your iPhone, and you must grant permission to the app to use these.

Compatible with iPhone. Not compatible with iPod Touch, or (non-cellular) iPads, due to the lack of GPS and Compass hardware.

This app is excellent to Dong your present position as a grid ref or lat/long. It is also great to be able to look up an overview of grid squares without leaving the app and opening a browser. 

The feature this app lacks is the ability to enter a grid ref and then look up the corresponding lat/long or vice versa. If it added this, it would be ideal for my needs!

Just downloaded paid for version. Can text my reference to contact but nothing happens when I choose to email on iPhone 6...Half way there! Using Gmail app

Currently only 'Mail' is supported. But if you let me know which app you are using, by way of updating your review, I'll put it on the wishlist for the next release.

Irish Grid Ref worked brilliantly and pinpointed my location within a second of opening the app. I love the ability to text, email or tweet the information from the app. It was so simple and worked amazingly even when I was out and with little connection at all, the feature such as the grid guide was so useful for pinpointing my location and it did it as accurate as expensive machinery would! I really don't think there's a fault in this app and it really is something that I use all the time! I also like the grid layout for just quickly pointing out a location to other people rather than showing them some numbers that they might find meaningless. If you need an application to show your location when doing mainland walking and outdoor activity then this is a perfect app at a really perfect price. Absolutely great!
