## What is Iron Church?

Iron Church is a strength training app with a coach who has a voice. Brodin writes your training block, reads how each session went, and adjusts the next one. You lift; he keeps the ledger.

A PLAN BUILT FOR YOU
Pick a discipline: powerlifting, bodybuilding, powerbuilding, hybrid, endurance, calisthenics, strongman and more. Brodin writes a four-week block around your equipment, your schedule and any injuries you tell him about. Prefer to write your own? Build it day by day in the Forge, and he'll review it before you commit.

SESSIONS THAT FOLLOW YOUR LAST ONE
Brodin sets today's loads from what you actually lifted last time: heavier when you had it, a rep more at the same weight when you ground it out. A short readiness check before you train tunes the day's intensity to how you slept and how you feel. When your block data calls for it, your deload comes forward, or your block runs a little longer.

LOG FAST, EVEN WITH GLOVES ON
Weights snap to the plates you own, RPE is a tap, and supersets stay paired from the plan into the session. Swap a movement you can't do today and Brodin finds one for the same pattern with the kit you have.

SEE WHERE YOU STAND
Your muscle map shows which muscles have worked hardest over the last two weeks. Records keeps every lift, your estimated one-rep maxes (worked out from the reps and weight you log) and every honour you earn. Take a VO₂ max field test and track the estimate over time. Log weigh-ins. On iPhone, bring in runs and rides from Apple Health and they count toward your training week alongside your lifts.

ON YOUR LOCK SCREEN
During a rite, the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island show your movement, your set and your rest counting down. On iOS 17 and later, tap Set done there and keep training without opening the app.

APPLE HEALTH
Each one is off until you switch it on: save every rite you finish as a strength workout, bring in your weigh-ins, and let last night's sleep fill in your check-in.

TALK IT THROUGH
Open the Commune from any screen and ask Brodin about your plan, your week or a lift. He answers from your own numbers and draws the chart when a number needs a picture. He's an AI, and he says so.

ON YOUR HOME SCREEN
Widgets show your Freshness reading and today's rite at a glance. Ask Siri to start your rite, log your weight or start a fast. On iOS 18 and later, add Commune with Brodin to Control Center.

TRAIN TOGETHER
The Temple is the congregation: a weekly roll, the feed of finished sessions, and seasonal trials. I Go You Go pairs two people through one session, turn by turn. Turn on Temple summons for a nudge when your barbell gets cold.

AN OPTIONAL FASTING TIMER
Time a fast with milestones at 4 to 72 hours. It asks safety questions before your first fast, tells you when to stop, and never gives medical advice.

FREE, AND PREMIUM
Free: five AI-written plans and sessions in total, five movement swaps a day, and two campaign blocks toward a date. The Forge, logging, records, the muscle map, VO₂ max tests, fasting, the Temple, Apple Health, the widgets and the Lock Screen are free on every plan.
Premium lifts the three limits: Brodin keeps writing plans and sessions past the free five, swaps go up to 30 an hour, and campaign blocks go past the free two.

Premium is an auto-renewing subscription, billed to your Apple ID. It renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; manage or cancel it in your iPhone's Settings.

Your data: training data is sent to Google Gemini and Groq to write your plans and Brodin's replies, only after you agree, and you can withdraw that at any time. Apple Health is used only for what you switch on, never for advertising, and never stored in iCloud. Privacy Policy: https://theironchurch.co.uk/privacy

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.1 — 2026-10-05

A point release with fixes and a few small touches.

Plan writing is fixed. A block no longer sits on Brodin writing or drops you back to the list of disciplines, changing your discipline always writes the new block, and blocks are written faster.

Do this next: machine taken? Open a movement's menu and make it the one you do now.

Dumbbell movements now say whether the weight is each hand or one dumbbell. Tap it in the rite if it's wrong.

New to metcons? Tap the ? beside an EMOM, AMRAP or For Time to see what it means and how it's scored.

### 1.4.0 — 2026-10-03

Log the training you do elsewhere. A spin class, a hockey match, a climb or an afternoon on skates: tap Log activity on Today, or tell Brodin, and it counts in your fatigue alongside your rites.

Functional Fitness now ends every session in a real metcon: EMOM, AMRAP or For Time, with a clock in the rite and your score saved. Forge a new block to get it.

Change your plan your way. Swap out a movement you hate, or take one out, and carry it through the rest of the block with one tap. Or keep it to today.

Feeling beaten up mid-rite? Deload the rest of it from the menu.

Loads now follow what you actually lift. A weight you lowered counts, week 3 stays your peak and week 4 deloads properly. At the finish, Brodin asks whether you lifted the weights shown.

Six-day plans now write all four weeks, and Functional Fitness and GVT plans no longer fail to forge.

Finishing a rite on weak gym signal no longer hangs. It saves on your phone and syncs when it can.

### 1.3.0 — 2026-10-02

Your rite is on the Lock Screen now. See the set you're on and the rest counting down. On iOS 17 and later, tap Set done without opening the app.

Apple Health works both ways. Save each rite as a strength workout, bring in your weigh-ins, and let last night's sleep fill in your check-in. Each one stays off until you switch it on.

Ask Siri to start your rite, log your weight or start a fast. It works from Spotlight and the Action button too.

Temple summons reach your iPhone, and you can turn them off in Settings.

Every page behind the main screens is redrawn: a big chart up top, the numbers, then Brodin's word. Choosing who trains today has a new look too.

Share a card to Facebook and the picture goes with it.

A cleaner start-up, a better light theme and many smaller fixes.

### 1.2.1 — 2026-09-30

Bring in your runs and rides from Apple Health. On Records, tap Bring in outside training, pick the workouts you did outside Iron Church, and they count toward your training week and the fatigue picture on Body. Iron Church only reads them; it never writes to Apple Health.

New widgets for your Home Screen and Lock Screen show your Freshness and today's rite. The medium size opens Brodin with what it shows, so you can ask about today in one tap. On iOS 18 and later, add Commune with Brodin to Control Center.

On Body, swipe right to open the menu.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-09-28

Iron Church is reborn. The screens you use every day have been rebuilt from the ground up: cleaner, calmer and quicker to read in the gym. Five screens hold everything (Today, Plan, Body, Records and the Temple) and you swipe between them. Brodin is one tap away from every screen, a recovery session is there on the days you need one, and anything that deletes or replaces your work now asks first. Your plans, rites and records carry straight across.
