## What is IronBuddy AI Strength Coach?

IronBuddy is a fully on-device AI strength training companion. Point the camera at yourself, start a set, and IronBuddy counts every rep, corrects your form in real time, and tracks your progress. Think of it as a quiet coach who lives inside your phone and never talks to the cloud.

Why IronBuddy is different

Privacy that actually means something. Every frame of video, every spoken command, every workout stat is processed on your device. There is no backend server. No user account. No ads. No analytics SDK. Your camera feed is never stored and never uploaded.

Four compound lifts done right. Push-ups, squats, deadlifts, and bench press are detected through a 33 point skeleton model powered by Google MediaPipe BlazePose. Eccentric, concentric, and lockout phases are all recognized, so your rep count reflects real reps, not half reps.

V2.0 smart assist, newly added
Warm-up and stretching guide before and after every session.
Slow-motion replay so you can see which rep fell short of depth or range.
Adaptive intensity that reads your recent completion rate and suggests the next workout volume.

Built-in training plans. Beginner onboarding, upper-body strength, lower-body power, and full-body routines are ready to run. You can also mix and match freely.

HealthKit integration. Workout duration, estimated calories, and rep counts are written to Apple Health automatically, so your activity rings reflect the work you did.

Hands-free by design. Voice countdowns and voice commands let you start, stop, and skip without touching the screen. Speech recognition runs on device using Apple's offline mode.

Who IronBuddy is for

Home lifters who want a second pair of eyes counting reps.
Travelers and busy people who train whenever, wherever.
Anyone tired of signing up, of ads, of trackers, of permission creep.

What IronBuddy will never do

No subscription. No in-app purchase. No ads.
No account. No cloud. No data upload.
No social feed begging for likes. No notification spam.

Download once, keep forever. Delete the app and every byte of your data goes with it.

Setup tips

Works on iPhone and iPad, portrait or landscape.
Place the device two to three meters away, framing your full body.
Even lighting and a clean background produce the best recognition.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.9 — 2026-08-01

This update introduces a refreshed IronBuddy app icon and the ShaneStudio brand identity.
Improved workout layouts for clearer counting, feedback, and set completion
Enhanced pose readiness and recognition recovery
Refined training plans, posture assessments, and manual tracking
Updated exercise artwork for easier recognition
Fixed UI, state continuity, and accessibility issues

### 1.8.9 — 2026-07-18

IronBuddy 1.8.9 improves the workout flow, recognition recovery, and the experience across Apple devices:

• New, clearer illustrations for all seven supported exercises
• Training plans now track target sets and reps, with clear feedback when a goal is not completed
• If a full body cannot be detected, you can retry, switch cameras, or continue with manual rep counting or timing
• Improved camera permission recovery, camera switching, and workout resumption after returning to the app
• The rear camera now prefers the ultra-wide lens when available, making it easier to keep your full body in frame
• Improved layouts, readability, and tap targets on iPhone, iPad, and larger accessibility text sizes
• Fixed zero-value workout records, incomplete posture assessments, and stale training-plan state

Pose recognition and workout data remain on your device. Camera footage is never uploaded.

### 1.8 — 2026-07-10

This update delivers a smoother and more reliable training experience. IronBuddy now waits until your pose is stable before starting recognition, reducing flickering landmarks, false counts, and premature feedback.
We’ve also added real-time guidance for movement phases, pace, form quality, and posture corrections. Training records, performance statistics, error recovery, exercise icons, and overall interface responsiveness have all been improved for a clearer and more professional workout experience.

### 1.7 — 2026-07-02

This update improves workout recognition and the overall training experience.

- Added a preparation state before training starts. Pose points are shown only after the posture becomes stable, reducing false detections and visual flickering.
- Improved the alignment between pose points and the camera preview, making motion feedback better match the user’s actual body position.
- Added clearer options to exit a workout, recalibrate detection, and recover camera permission access.
- Improved records, history, and plan displays for time-based exercises.
- Optimized the workout entry flow to reduce friction when flexibility assessment has not been completed.
- Fixed several issues related to duplicate records, inconsistent display, and interaction details.

### 1.6.6 — 2026-06-17
