## What is IronOS?

Train for the next twenty years, not the next twelve weeks.

IronOS is a free strength training log for lifters who measure progress in years — pre-calculated warmups, automatic plate math, and RPE-based autoregulation. Chase PRs while they're coming, and track what you're holding onto when they slow down.

Work with your coach, coach yourself for free, or let AI coach you.

LOG WITH PRECISION
Pre-calculated warmups, automatic plate math, and RPE-based autoregulation. IronOS shows you exactly what to load, tracks your rest, and captures every rep. Mark a set as it felt and the app tells you whether you were dialed in or overshot. No spreadsheets, no guesswork.

DURABILITY SCORE
An age-graded strength standard — the thing masters runners have had for forty years and lifters never got. Built on DOTS normalization and IPF age coefficients, the same standards powerlifting federations use, it shows how your current strength compares to an age-adjusted benchmark without ever testing a 1RM. A second measure of progress, one that keeps moving even when your PRs don't.

BUILT FOR BARBELL TRAINING
Configurable bar weights, plate inventory, cable stack settings, and deadlift start height. Equipment that matches your gym, not a generic default.

TRACK WHAT MATTERS
PRs tracked automatically across every rep range — squat, bench, deadlift, and every accessory you log. The Progress tab charts your top sessions over time for each lift.

AI COACHING
A guided intake learns your schedule, equipment, and goals, then IronOS writes your program — its own programming logic, powered by Claude. It reads your actual training log: your logged sets, your weight progression, your feedback on how each session went. Check-ins on fatigue, sleep, and life stress adjust volume and intensity. Miss a day and your week reshuffles itself. Free for 14 days.

WORKING WITH A COACH
Your coach sees every set, adds notes to individual exercises, leaves session feedback, and reviews your form checks — all in one place. Record and upload video mid-workout with full context attached.

APPLE HEALTH
Bodyweight syncs automatically, so your Durability Score stays current.

Built for lifters who care about the long game.

SUBSCRIPTION
IronOS is free to use. AI Coaching is an optional auto-renewing subscription: free for 14 days, then $7.99/month. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when the free trial ends. Your subscription renews automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Cancel during the trial and you won't be charged. Manage or cancel anytime in your Apple ID account settings.

### 5/5 — Outstanding

*2026-06-18*

I’ve used two other apps with a coach, and I actually log in THIS app and screenshot to paste into theirs. This is so superior to easily access previous lifts, track PRs, and most exciting it integrates RPE to every set. Best strength app out there!

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.2.1 — 2026-10-23

What's New

- Exercise progress from any workout. Tap an exercise name on a completed workout to see its progress chart and history. It opens on that session, and you can close it and tap the next exercise.
- Better history in the logger. An exercise's history in the logger now uses the same chart and records as Progress, covering the last 3 months.
- Pull-ups, chin-ups and dips now chart an estimated max that includes your bodyweight. More reps at the same weight now shows as progress, and bodyweight and weighted sessions share one line.
- Timed holds like planks and hangs now chart your longest hold.
- Clearer RPE colors. On target or half a point over is green, 1 to 1.5 over is amber, and more than that is red.
- Simpler form check feedback. Each exercise has one conversation with your coach.
- Invite your coach from More › Programming if you don't have one yet.
- Birth year now only accepts real years, so your Durability Score is calculated with your actual age.
- Small fixes and polish.

### 2.2.0 — 2026-10-23

Training with a coach?
Invite your coach to IronOS right from the app. They see every set you log, leave notes on individual lifts, and review your form checks. Free for them up to 3 athletes.

Logging
• Half-point RPE from 7 up (7.5, 8.5, 9.5)
• Coaches can now prescribe fixed loads, percentage back-off sets and AMRAP sets ("5+")
• Back-off weights can be fine-tuned and stay put
• Type the exact seconds on holds and planks
• Pull-ups, chin-ups and dips count your bodyweight, and banded pull-ups take an assist
• Smarter exercise search (equipment, muscle, movement), 62 new exercises, and easier tapping in the picker
• Library workouts open in preview before you start
• New switches in Settings to turn off the rest timer or auto warmups

Your history
• Completed workouts are one clean view, with form checks right on the set and "Coach replied" when your coach answers
• Progress lists read "3 × 8 @ 135 lbs", and every filmed session gets its own point on the chart
• Your full history loads, no matter how many workouts you've logged
• PR stars count lifts logged under an exercise's other names
• Editing an old workout keeps its original date and time
• Completed workouts show your units (lbs or kg)

Fixes
• Rest timer alert lands right at 0:00, and only once
• Form-check videos play with sound on iPhone
• Messages and notices now appear in one spot on Today, in place of the daily quote
• Sign-in screen no longer overlaps when the keyboard is open

### 2.1.1 — 2026-09-16

What's new in 2.1.1

Light launch screen and a light app icon. The app now opens to a white launch screen when your iPhone is in light mode. You can also pick a light home-screen icon under More, then Appearance.

Build your own warmups. Turn auto warmup off and swipe right on a working set to add warmup rows by hand. They are never overwritten by the auto pyramid, and they carry over to your next session of that lift. Customized auto warmups carry over too, as long as the working weight and reps match.

Demo videos from your coach. When your coach attaches a video to an exercise, a play icon appears next to its name in the logger. Tap it to watch inline.

Technique cues. Exercises can carry a short reminder your coach writes once; it shows up every time you log that lift.

Convert a warmup to a working set. Long-press your top warmup set when it turns out to be your first real set.

Form checks. The app nudges you to film in landscape, and the comment box on a set now says clearly what it is for.

Logger polish. One Finish button instead of a checkmark plus Finish. Long exercise names shorten to standard gym abbreviations. Fixed-rep prescriptions prefill the reps. Cable exercises label the base load as system weight.

Fixes. Editing a saved workout in My Workout Library no longer loses your changes when you back out. Resuming a workout no longer starts a fresh draft or shows a stale coach update. Weights no longer show floating-point noise. Set ranges no longer collapse to N-N, and single-set prescriptions drop the redundant "1 x". Skipping an exercise closes the swipe panel and keeps the post-workout comment box. Timed holds highlight correctly. Edit Days on an active Elemental program reopens the right setup sheet. Athletes who trialed AI coaching before joining a coach no longer get AI check-in notifications. A coach who signs in here is pointed to the coach portal instead of landing in an empty account. The version footer in More shows the version you are actually running.

Accessibility. Every icon-only button now has a label for VoiceOver.

### 2.0.0 — 2026-08-11

What's new in 2.0!

Three ways to train. One of them is new.

1. Work with your coach. Your programming, your check-ins, all in one place.
2. Coach yourself. Build it, log it, track it. Free, as always.
3. Let AI coach you. New in 2.0.

The AI coach is IronOS's own programming logic powered by Claude. It sees your actual training log — your logged sets, your weight progression, your feedback on how each session went. It knows whether last week landed before it writes this one.

• A guided intake learns your schedule, equipment, and goals
• Programming that adapts to your real numbers, not just your stated plan
• Check-ins on fatigue, sleep, and life stress, with automatic volume and intensity adjustments
• Missed workouts reshuffle across the rest of your week
• Availability toggles so travel and busy weeks don't derail your program
• Conservative first programs that build you up instead of burning you out
• Workout previews for anything on your calendar

Plus a faster, cleaner logger, smarter exercise naming, calendar fixes, and serious security hardening under the hood.

AI Coaching is an optional subscription ($7.99/month).
