However, the service has had unacceptable bugs, mainly, masked emails not receiving emails for days or weeks, when that’s literally the only point of using the service. That has always been the killer feature, though now it’s more common for other companies to provide it. App stability, endless loading spinners, and data missing are unacceptable when the core product has barely changed in 10 years. Anyone using this is either a loyal longtime user trying to stay loyal; dependent on the masked emails; or using it to avoid a large company. Please do better. This used to be a less buggy product. They also need to work on solutions possibly with vendors like Google so masked emails don’t end up in spam so often. Push notifications of incoming emails to the inbox accessible in the iOS app would be a good start. ### 1/5 — Trash Company *2026-01-22, version 12.3.0* Used them for a few years 3-4 years ago, they pretend to be a privacy company but will reach out to you by your name while making unfounded accusations if you use multiple cards in certain ways for the same merchant. Unfortunately, they fall short. I signed up specifically to be able to create a barrier for my personal cellphone. They advertised they can do it for European cell numbers. Turns out they can’t offer their services to expats and probably Europeans. I provided my passport and proof of address as requested but they decided after the fact they can’t. But lately emails aren’t coming thru or being forwarded on new accounts being setup. It’s seriously SO frustrating! I have another app for passwords so I use iron vest mostly for email aliases, credit card and phone masking. Now that I have literally almost 1000 aliases it has slowed down to the point of disrupting my work. Today an email with a zoom link arrived 4 hours after the webinar was over. CS responds within 48 hours by email but assures me nothing is wrong. I am fed up and will be migrating to something more reliable ### 1/5 — Login pains *2025-11-22, version 11.0.4* Emails take forever to forward. Sometimes not at all. Used to be a paid member. Stopped after popular sites started revoking accounts I made with IronVest. I’ve lost access to several accounts and still fighting to get them back. Adding salt to the wound, the app needs to be constantly reinstalled because the login pin stops working. Plan on fully moving away from this service after 5+ years of use. ### 3/5 — Email Forwarding Works Poorly *2025-10-30, version 11.0.3* This review focuses on the email & phone forwarding features of Ironvest, which they call masked mails and masked phone, respectively. Masked phone allows you to create a phone number to provide on websites, etc., which forwards phone calls and texts to your real number, so you don't have to risk it being sold or leaked. If you start getting spam from a caller, you simply block them. It used to work, though it was a bit clunky because you can't reply directly to text messages. Then it didn't work for me at all for a while, but after contacting Ironvest, it's working again. Masked emails used to work better. You can create individual forwarding email addresses for each website or business you deal with so that if you start getting spam at that address, you know where it originated from. You can easily turn these addresses on or off or simply delete them. However, about 4 months ago, I noticed that there was a significant delay in some emails being forwarded, and some never got forwarded at all. I estimate that the delay ranges from 7 to 17 hours, with an average of about 12 hours. In addition, the Ironvest server is marking some emails as spam, which it should not do unless I marked a sender as spam. It does not forward emails that are marked as spam. I no longer feel I can rely on this feature, since I have to manually check the Ironvest email inbox instead of counting on them being forwarded to my real email address. I haven't used the other features much. The masked credit card feature worked ok, but it ties up whatever amount of money you put on a virtual credit card. There's a tracker blocking feature, but it currently only works on Chrome or Firefox. I found that it tended to break website functionality, so I turned it off, and now I use the Brave browser, which has the function built in. I contacted Ironvest customer support about the email forwarding problems, but they didn't know what was causing the problem. In the last 4 months, the problem has only gotten worse. Ironvest offers a lot in the way of privacy protection, but their features are useless if they don't work as claimed. ### 2/5 — Think you broke something… *2025-10-05, version 11.0.3* Latest update cripples login. ### 1/5 — Still cannot log in *2025-09-20, version 11.0.2* Despite being able to log in to the website, it will not let me log in to the app using exactly the same credentials. Poor spacing on iPhone makes it impossible to see the whole page. Most frustrating!! ### 1/5 — Why Can't You Get This App Together? *2025-04-26, version 10.3.0* I have been a long time subscriber, meaning years, and although IronVest has some great features, you cannot use them so what good are they? The app is horrible. When I finally go through all the hoops to get in there, I can't even find a customer service area. My current problem is that I'm trying to use the virtual IronVest phone number as my regular contact number in Messages and Safari in the iPhone. It used to work great, but now when I use it as my contact number, and that contact number is then sent a verification code, I never receive the code. This has caused major frustration issues. When I try to get into the IronVest app itself, I am asked over and over again for my email address and password. Enter it and then I am asked again and I'm never allowed to access my account. I finally figured out a workaround, (I ask to access a different account-I don't have one- but it then gives me a workable page to put in the email address and password) and once I get into the app on the iPad, I can't figure out where to find the Support page to try to figure it out the issue. The hamburger or three lines in the upper left-hand corner of the page does not work on the iPad. If I don't have my phone handy, I am screwed. I pretty much have stopped using IronVest for anything other than that one virtual phone number. Now it doesn't work either. I'm coming up on a renewal in a short period of time and if I can't get to the support people and get this thing fixed, I will have to cancel service. What a shame… This could be an absolutely fabulous service if they could get themselves together. Please have the service work on all platforms and devices. Now it freezes frequently and is essentially useless. Using the website I was able to login but unable to see any kind of information, however there’s no server available anymore. The app keeps saying “incorrect password” even after resetting it several times. No way to access support or contact them. It doesn't have the following of some others but customer support is outstanding and very fast. Indispensable. Great app. Customer service is sometimes needed but they’re prompt and accurate. This has never been hacked. It is important to secure your account password and phrase somewhere but they tell you that. Can’t put the fault for not doing so on them. It’s been incredibly useful to me. To protect your every day privacy from the internet. ### 5/5 — This password manager thought of everything…almost *2023-02-26, version 9.0.5* Oh my god. I’m in shock. The developers of this password manager which I’ve never even heard of has so many necessary functions that I have never seen all in one app. It is easy to work with and very user friendly and they offer a 30 day free trial so you can try all of its functions before you financially commit to it. The most important and more unusual functions it includes is the option to provide masked emails, save multiple user identitiy profiles and mask your credit card number. You can also set up cards with a limit to prevent being overcharged or in the case that you don’t fully trust the site or are afraid you will forget to cancel a subscription you only want for a month, you can set up a masked credit card that only will allow for the first payment to go through. It also has a notes section and recovery through email is possible of most of your data but to get the encrypted passwords unlocked you need your preset passphrase which you can effectively erase one it’s been printed or saved somewhere safe. In addition it also has a notes section. Bravo Iron Vest developers! You have created an absolute winner, however I can’t find how much this will cost me monthly once my trial is finished. If you were to improve your app, I do have some suggestions, and my needs are beyond what many other require as necessary. As you realize I’m sure, cybercrime is on the rise and usernames and password managers are a hot commodity for some. I’m a target who has had her devices somehow remotely modified and or have hidden malware which allows my device to be accessed remotely by some old neighbours I used to live beneath. They keep on stealing my password managers by locking me out. It would be amazing if you included an advanced option or for a special paid subscription upgrade to a tier where you included yubikey/other security keys functionality and included a feature I desperately need so that one day I can keep my password manager for the rest of my days instead of having to get a new one or make a new account every time my attackers want to punish me. That feature would be that you were only able to change their original password if you used the registered Yubikey. You could also go completely passwordless if you really wanted to push the limits and include functions that aren’t yet being incorporated into other password managers designed for regular users. People don’t realize how at risk they actually are. I’m a victim of identity theft and fraud and have had my bank account used to launder money. My perps have been using their cyber capabilities to try and ruin my life for five years now because I found out about multiple large schemes that they were heading up to trick people in apartments to end up under constant surveillance which is shared with the landlord. The hackers are told to go into tenants suites and recover personal documents and get into your router and set up an Evil Twin Network that’s hidden and trick your device over to their hidden Network and they take over your main Network to do their bidding. Then all of their activity is done remotely rising your devices and your network and no one notices a thing, except me. So I’ve been attempting to expose them and collecting all the possible evidence and they know I am standing between them and freedom. They do anything they can to limit my online access and keep an eye and ear on my activities so the cab try to clean up behind themselves and delete or erase any digital evidence I’ve been too slow or dumb to swiftly back up on a thumb drive I have to wear around my neck. They even sent someone to attack me to get it but I grabbed my camera to take his pic when I saw him waiting for me at the top of the stairs. He ran. It is very handy and completely does what it claims. $40/yr for premium is not bad seeing it saved me much more with the masked credit card! Even though they are charging now for the maskcards, it's still worth it.
