### 5/5 — Download it Now!

*2024-03-17, version 2.4.11*

This is exactly what we need and it’s on time! This app allows you to review and read reviews on birth centers, hospitals, and doctors. This is the type of accountability we need in our communities!

### 5/5 — Leaving the Bias out of Birth

*2024-03-14, version 2.4.11*

This is an app I use often in work. Great way to see the real experiences of Black families in birthing spaces and for them to share with other folks. Very easy to navigate and leave reviews on birthing, prenatal, postnatal, and pediatric visits. I would recommend this app for anyone considering a hospital birth.

### 4/5 — happy to help

*2024-03-14, version 2.4.11*

i feel like i’ll be able to help someone else out who is looking to see what type of reviews certain people in the childbirth services have

### 5/5 — Great App, Great Founder

*2024-03-12, version 2.4.11*

I met Kimberley at an event in Houston. It was wonderful! She has so much passionate about her work and the Irth App and getting public strategies to create accountability is with hospitals and birth.

### 5/5 — Great Organization

*2024-03-01, version 2.4.11*

They’re a great organization and they are full of resources!

### 3/5 — My ambassadors name did not populate

*2024-02-19, version 2.4.10*

My ambassadors name did not populate

### 5/5 — Awesome app

*2024-02-05, version 2.4.8*

Super helpful.
While you're in the hospital you're pushed by the staff in so many directions. When I asked for my placenta, they looked at me like if I was crazy. Our culture is not considered in western medicine

### 5/5 — So helpful for pregnant families

*2024-01-12, version 2.4.3*

This app is so great to help pregnant families learn more about providers near them and connect with different bars workers who can support them!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — I really wanted to love it

*2025-05-16, version 2.4.41*

I was excited to use the app but the amount of reviews are lacking and not very detailed — at least in my area. When I picked a hospital to view the reviews, I was met with a Lock Screen that says it’s mandated I leave 3 reviews before I can read any. I’m pregnant for the first time. How on earth could I leave a review for a hospital yet? Based on what experience? Plus, to leave a review you have to give a bunch of invasive personal info ranging from your income to insurance. I love the concept but you’ll get better reviews and detailed experiences from users on sites like Reddit.

### 1/5 — Couldn’t Create Account

*2023-02-17, version 2.0.9*

I couldn’t even create an account. When I attempted to create a password it would not register that I was entering numbers. It kept informing me I needed to include numbers. I was interested in exploring the app but have not had the opportunity to do so.

### 1/5 — Does not work for me

*2022-08-25, version 2.0.7*

I’ve downloaded this app for the first time today. As a black woman, first time expecting mom-to-be, I was hoping to use this feature to better assist me. I tried creating an account with my email and it said email account is already in use which shouldn’t be possible. Still, I did the ‘forgot password’ option and nothing ever got sent to my inbox or spam/junk folder. I tried using another email to sign up and the same issue happened. I’m assuming this app may be new and in need of work so I wrote this review to warn others.

### 1/5 — Not what i thought

*2022-07-08, version 2.0.7*

I thought it was a pregnancy tracker & community for woc… however it’s just a bunch of articles… ask nothing about your pregnancy, no where to chat with other moms… it’s just articles

### 1/5 — Great idea, poor execution

*2022-04-24, version 2.0.7*

You could tell this application wasn’t developed by someone that is savvy with user experience. This is a wonderful idea, but poorly executed. I’m including some thoughts as a professional who develops digital and mobile experiences.

First, in order for data to be relevant, it needs to be consistent, detailed, and normalized.

1. Consistent: the application should require that reviewers provide consistent information. There should be required common elements - such as requiring a doctor’s name. If the premise of the application is centered on removing bias in case, how is not having a practitioners name helpful? So many reviews lacked this information. How am I supposed to make a decision without it?

2. Detailed - reviews should be thorough. If the reviewer isn’t providing a review of more than 2 lines, the review submission process needs to be altered to require a certain amount of characters or ask questions to get their feedback on certain parameters - e.g., were you induced? Were you offered pain medication? Did you have a c section? Were you provided with a lactation consultant at the hospital? The questions should vary between the type of review - pre delivery, delivery, post natal care.

3. Normalized - the search function on this application is downright terrible. If you search for New York City or input a zip code search, the results won’t change. Hospital names aren’t normalized - for example, I couldn’t tell whether Mount Sinai in nyc was referring to Mount Sinai west or Mount Sinai East. These are two different hospitals!! Make sure you ask for data or it’s garbage in and garbage out. Use Google maps or another service to ensure a location is consistently named.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t Help

*2022-02-08, version 2.0.6*

I downloaded this app bc I found an ad on IG when I first got pregnant. I’m currently due in two months and none of the a hospitals that I want to research can be found. Google has been the only tool when looking up hospitals.

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2021-06-12, version 2.0.2*

I really wanted to like this ap and was looking forward to using it as a POC. However I couldn’t even log in. The password reset feature did not work. Then I left it alone and forgot about it. A few weeks later I get an email to reset it. I tried using it and it did not work. I have it one last chance a few months later when I was decluttering my phone and getting rid of unused aps… I was able to reset my password finally only to be disappointed for a third and final time when upon trying to log in it asks you to enter a code, I don’t have a code and when I select the “resend code” link that didn’t work either. Literally nothing happened. This ap is useless. Please get it together. Good idea in theory, not executed well. At all.

### 1/5 — Nothing is really there

*2021-04-06, version 2.0*

I was excited to download this app but once I downloaded and got into it I was quite disappointed. First, they ask you an 8 question personal data which only one has “prefer not to answer”. I’m not quite sure why they need that information(income and such). Race, I would under stand if it was put near the review but I did not see it there so why ask? Second, there is this invisible box that cover up the text I’m writing. Three, when I go to search nothing is coming up. I’m not able to search by state, you must have a specific name of a hospital to find anything and still nothing.
It’s a wonderful idea but needs work. Maybe give the option of prefer not to say, and make it possible to search by state.

### 2/5 — App is unusable

*2023-10-13, version 2.3.0*

I saw an NPR story about this app and immediately downloaded it. The concept is something really needed! However after multiple attempts to create an account and login, I can’t honestly give this a good review. I kept running into errors in the registration screen and when I tried to login it just stalled out. I see there are reviews from 2 years ago that say the same thing so maybe this app hasn’t been updated to scale at all? I hope one day it gets the attention it deserves from the developers, but until then, I’m going to delete.

### 2/5 — Please fix

*2021-11-03, version 2.0.5*

I am a huge supporter of Irth, but l have had so much trouble with the app. I know this app can be a great tool with some changes. I’m always getting signed out. The app freezes, or won’t accept when l input information etc.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

Amazing experience with all the moms. Plenty of great advice and conversation

### 5/5 — Highly recommend!

*2025-09-19, version 2.4.51*

This app is amazing - moms share their first hand experiences so you can see what others have experienced directly and make an informed choice. There are so many cool features - as a doula and as a mom I recommend this app to all BIPOC families!

### 5/5 — Love this!

### 5/5 — Great platform for POC!

*2025-01-01, version 2.4.36*

This is a great platform for Black parents. It’s easy to use, helpful and much needed. I hope more people leave reviews. It gives a chance for POC to decide & understand where to go to continue their birthing process. It’s very important we have these apps & reviews to help POC experience an extraordinary experience that they deserve giving birth at any facility. I am so glad I found this app.
