## What is iRTSP?

iRTSP turns your iPhone into a professional RTSP camera server. Stream your camera and microphone live over your local network to any standard player — VLC, ffmpeg, OBS, Blender, or your own code — with a full suite of time-synchronized sensor channels for robotics, AR, and computer-vision work.

STREAMING
• Standard RTSP (RFC 2326) server — connect from VLC, ffmpeg, OBS, or any RTSP client
• H.264 or HEVC video with AAC audio and RTCP audio/video sync
• Front or back cameras, multi-lens zoom

### 1.6 — 2026-07-30

RECORDING
• Select several takes in the library at once — export the whole set as one archive with a folder per take, or delete them together
• A take that hits a write failure part-way through is now salvaged and saved instead of being discarded
• Sizes shown throughout the app are correct; audio was being counted twice in a take's footprint

CAMERA INTRINSICS
• The camera matrix is now streamed and recorded once per video frame, stamped with that frame's own timestamp, so it pairs with a frame exactly
• Each one carries the lens position and focus state, which makes a change in focal length attributable to a refocus rather than something you have to infer

ARKIT POSE MODE
• Camera settings that ARKit overrides are shown locked, with the value they are forced to, instead of appearing adjustable and quietly doing nothing
• ARKit's autofocus is now a control of its own, and is reported to connected clients

FIXES
• The sensor chart on a take's detail screen no longer draws outside its card
• The chart's traces are no longer thinned by channels it doesn't plot

Settings now tells you exactly what the camera will capture.

• Resolution and frame rate list only the formats the current mode can actually record. Modes like ARKit pose, LiDAR depth and Multi-Cam each limit what the camera offers, and a line underneath now names the exact format you will get.
• Video is no longer stretched to a size the camera never captured — what you pick is what is recorded.
• Recorded takes now always include the camera intrinsics, even when nothing about the camera changed during the take.
• Exported intrinsics CSVs mark which rows are periodic re-reports and which are real changes.

### 1.4.1 — 2026-07-25

Fixes a bug where longer recordings could fail to save and disappear without warning.

• A recording is no longer thrown away because of an audio glitch — the video is kept.
• If a recording does fail, the app now tells you why on screen instead of failing silently.
• Fixed a rare problem that could corrupt the start of a recording when the disk was busy.

### 1.4 — 2026-07-24

Record offline — instead of streaming, or at the same time.

• Recording modes: Stream, Record, or Both. A take captures video, audio, IMU motion, GPS, and LiDAR depth to the phone, all on one shared clock.

• Faithful capture. A recording muxes the same encoded video the stream carries — no second encode and no added loss. Optional ProRes formats are available for local capture.

• New Recordings library. Search by name, date, codec, resolution, or which sensors a take carries; filter and sort; rename takes; swipe to share or delete. Disk usage and free space at a glance.

• Playback with a sensor overlay. Scrub the video and watch the motion traces track it on the same timeline.

• Export what you actually need. The whole take as one archive, or individual tracks: combined video+audio, video only, audio only, per-channel CSV (accelerometer, gyroscope, pose, camera intrinsics), and the raw motion and depth data — all with trimming.

• AR replay. Fuse a take's LiDAR depth frames into a colored 3D mesh and watch the recorded camera fly through it in your own room.

• Remote record trigger. A controller on the same network can start and stop several phones together over RTSP, and the recorded clock anchors make the takes alignable afterward.

Also: recording keeps working with no viewer connected, and takes are visible in the Files app for easy transfer.

### 1.3 — 2026-07-23

Full control over how the camera and microphone capture, plus new audio formats.

AUDIO
• Choose your audio codec: AAC-LC, HE-AAC, AAC-ELD (low delay), Opus, or L16 (uncompressed/lossless).
• Mono or stereo.
• New microphone & audio session controls: session mode (including Measurement for the flattest, least-processed response), microphone mode, which built-in mic to use, polar pattern, input gain, sample rate, and buffer size.

CAMERA
• New Advanced Camera settings: geometric distortion correction, video HDR, tone mapping, low-light boost, auto-focus range, maximum exposure time, auto frame rate, lens auto-switching, face-driven autofocus/exposure, smooth autofocus, and subject-area monitoring.
• Video stabilization now offers the full set of modes.
• New live toggles in the pro controls bar.

For odometry/VIO users: the settings that affect image geometry are automatically held at their calibration-safe values while odometry is streaming, and the data stream now reports exactly which capture settings were applied.
