And it's a great way to pass the time for anyone who likes trains. The 3D effect is well done, and the layouts aren't bad at all. It has a lot of the same fun of operating a real model railroad, with operating 3 trains at once, adjustable speeds, lots of switches to throw, working horns and whistles and bells, and the many different viewing angles makes it very interesting to operate. As a model train fan I would buy the full version, and even pay more for it if: - there is an option to build your own layout (nothing creative or challenging in this app) - there is a selection of trains and wagons - graphics are improved Until then, the free version is fine, the full version has more layouts and options to change color and texture of the landscape, but nothing else. BTW, the trains should be marked somehow, which train is red, green or black? You can only identify the trains by changing their speed. ### 3/5 — Looks Cool but navigation around the layout? UGH *2017-02-08, version 4.0.2* I think this game looks cool but the control to move the camera around to view the layout... I couldn't wrap my head around it... Unfortunately .. That's why I'm deleting it.. Hard to try it when just looking where I want is difficult.. But the game does look neat so far, and the model railroad control panel I think is posh 👍 ### 4/5 — Nice on iPad *2020-01-10, version 4.1.0* Very decent sim. Good graphics. Has a bit of a learning curve to understand controls which are smooth but sluggish. Icons are a bit cryptic . “Lite” version is free and I couldn’t find a better value even with its limitations. Unfortunately, like real model layouts, this gets boring with time. Nothing to do but roll down the track and avoid collisions. Would be better with some “objectives”. That being said, it’s still a very fun app and a good way to spend time without enduring stress of smashing, shooting, destroying and otherwise being killed. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Billboard doesn’t work *2026-02-16, version 4.1.0* It just has a generic photo of your logo anyways it is a good game but billboard doesn’t work ### 5/5 — Easy and Fun *2024-08-07, version 4.1.0* This is a fun train simulation, pick from several layouts, different engines and train cars. You can jump on the trains and view the layouts going by from different places on the train. You can stand anywhere on the layout to observe trains passing. You control the speed of individual trains to avoid collisions and set switches to change tracks. I do not see a way to leave cars on sidings but even that may be possible. There are two app features I would be willing to pay for: 1) Lay your own track, or import a track into the app' and 2) ability to drop off and pick up rolling stock.
