## What is Is It Beach Day?

Is it a beach day? One glance and you know.

Is It Beach Day distills 15+ live data sources into a single 0-100 Beach Day score with a plain-English verdict. No squinting at ten different forecasts - the app does the reading so you can do the beaching.

WHAT MAKES THE SCORE
Air, sky, wind, humidity, water temp, waves, sand temperature, UV, seaweed, and crowds - each weighted, each explained. Tap any slice of the score wheel for the full story.

OBSERVATION-GRADE DATA, NOT JUST FORECASTS
- Live weather radar: see rain approaching before it arrives, with distance and ETA
- Lightning strike map from GOES satellite (updates about every minute)
- Satellite cloud sensing feeding the sky score and the sand-temperature model
- Real measured water level vs. the tide tables
- NOAA buoys, NWS forecasts and alerts, and official water-quality advisories

BEACH-CAM INTELLIGENCE
Live cameras are read continuously for what forecasts can't tell you: how much seaweed is on the sand, how crowded it is (compared to a typical day - "about 20% quieter than the average Saturday"), and how clear the water looks - calibrated against real in-the-water checks.

PLAN THE WHOLE WEEK
A 7-day outlook scores every hour of daylight and picks the best beach window each day - go at the right hour, not just the right day.

THE EXTRAS
- Golden hour: a sunset-quality forecast with the true golden-hour window
- Sand temperature you can trust - calibrated with an infrared thermometer on the actual sand
- Rip current detail, storm activity, tide flags for king tides

HONEST BY DESIGN
Every card flips over to show exactly how its number is computed and where the data comes from. When we can't see something - cams at night, a stale feed - the app says "unknown" instead of guessing.
