Took a photo of my house and tried creating a simple landscape. It’s extremely tedious. The “draw” function is so basic. The renderings are plentiful but it’s like flipping through a photo album of nothing. There is a search feature that works ok for shrubs and plants. To be honest I just took the picture I was working with, uploaded it to Gemini. Described what I wanted, told it which USDA zone I was in and wanted native drought tolerant plants, a sidewalk to replace the stepping stones and it took me all of maybe 15 mins. I’d rather spend the monthly fee on AI than use this. Plus, I can use AI for other things. This is single use. Maybe software like this is just outdated now. ### 2/5 — Glorified image editor *2026-05-23, version 4.40.3* Basically just an image editor over a photograph. Immediately starts a subscription that will charge you after the trial ends too. The free version is hilariously limited. If you’re a professional landscaper I’m sure it’s worth it but not for your regular home owner. I think this would be a fine app for people who want to pay, but calling it a free app for only a 1 week trial period is a scam. ### 1/5 — Terrible. ALL manual. No ai automation *2026-04-28, version 4.40.3* No intelligent ai capabilities 1) no auto masking (assess imported image and auto create area in space ) —you have to use this giddy outline tool that makes result look preschoolish. 2) no dbl click on area and fill with plant x — you have to manually place elects one by one and thus do scaling and placement yourself (very old school). These days with ai prompt you simply say fill area with sequential planting of 3 plants and its intelligence will scale to your image, according to topography and mood and geo location— then you adjust to your liking if need be. For all the rave about this app it’s totally marketing guff. Useless app for me as a home owner ### 1/5 — Expensive Clip Art *2026-04-22, version 4.40.3* Overpriced for what it does. Basically lets you resize and rotate clip art on photos. ### 1/5 — Beware *2026-04-07, version 4.40.3* Be VERY careful with the subscription on this app. The billing setup is confusing, and if something goes wrong, it may be very difficult to resolve. I signed up for what appeared to be a 7 day free trial for a monthly subscription, but was immediately charged for the full month. After cancelling right away, the app only gave me access from March 18 to March 25, just 7 days, instead of a full 30 day period that I paid for. To make things worse, the charge showed up through PayPal as “Apple Services” but did NOT appear in my Apple purchase history, so I couldn’t request a refund through Apple. The app support redirected me back to Apple, and I ended up stuck in a loop with no resolution. I never even used the app because I noticed the issue immediately and didn’t want it to affect my refund chances. ### 1/5 — Absolute garbage *2026-04-04, version 4.40.3* Cut and paste icons on to a 2D field. Waste of the time it took to confirm the email. ### 1/5 — Subscription *2026-03-21, version 4.40.2* You need to show, up front, that this is 1 week trial and $29 per month after the trial. ### 2/5 — Features Don’t Work *2026-03-21, version 4.40.2* I downloaded and subscribed to this app hoping to use it to landscape my house or at least conceptualize a plan. It was basically unusable. On my current generation iphone 17 pro the AR feature would use the camera for about a second before freezing so I could not scan an area. Then I tried taking a picture to make a project. That worked but as soon as I added a tree the app crashed. I was able to eventually add a mulch bed but the features are way behind the times. It doesn’t help smooth lines I draw and it doesn’t make it look 3-d. I can get better results using ms paint. ### 1/5 — Terrible! *2026-03-12, version 4.40.2* This app is terrible. I have watched 3 tutorials and can't get any of the "layers" to move. I'm finding it impossible to move anything to the location where I want it. Will definitely be canceling after the trial. ### 1/5 — No compromise for homeowners *2026-03-09, version 4.40.2* The app won’t even let you see what a basic pine tree or evergreen looks like in your yard…. Useless! How about home owners get a one time unlock of 5$ and maybe even make each plant a dollar in app purchase. With so many options you could make money doing that. 300$ a year you are cutting off the main customer base. With AI and stuff nowadays this app will be obsolete soon if changes aren’t made. ### 2/5 — Tetious to get quality and always wants more money *2026-03-07, version 4.40.2* The app kinda works, but it goes off of your finger drawing lines and if it’s not perfect, it does not look good at all. Then you have to run it through Gemini or ChatGPT to actually make the design look good. My biggest pet peeve with this company is, I already paid for a subscription and every time I click into the app it won’t let me do something and it says to pay for the subscription which I already paid $30 a month for. Won’t even let me login through my Apple account, which is what it should be doing this entire time and I can’t use the service that I pay for. Probably only use it once every couple months but they’re getting $400 a year off of me just to not even work. ### 1/5 — Not free *2026-01-25, version 4.40.2* While you can download the app for free, you can’t do anything in the app without purchasing a subscription of $30 a month. Most of the plants I have aren’t available in the app, so I had to generate all of them myself just to recreate my backyard. The images are difficult to move around, and you have to manually adjust the scale of each plant. Honestly, Freeform on my Mac can do pretty much the exact same thing. Now that my free trial is over, I can’t do anything—not even upload my own picture. This was very easy to use, it has a wide variety of plants organized very well. I entered estimated plant costs, printed my shopping list, and am heading to the nursery today. What is lacking is a top down view, with a landscape map and key. Also ability to change shape of walkways, ie, multi-point adjustment of shape, instead of just side to side or top to bottom. I appreciate that it has a way to upload your own images. As someone who's worked with plants for a long time, It would be even better (for its industry) if-- it can categorize plants by zone and/or general area (like high alpine for mountainous regions, tundra for the plains, sea level, very dry or generally moist. Even create a few 'suggested lists' by micro-climate-- such as a basic selection of native-plants for each region. The hardscape examples are good. Would like more individual elements to be able to adjust perspective on. Well done so far, and excellent opportunity to keep growing. However, i took to iscape like a koi to water and the result of me being able to easily produce before and after drawings is a 20% increase in my closing rate on new customers.
