We’re in late July, and my breed/region had major changes this year, but the app hadn’t been updated. ### 3/5 — Not updating point schedule for 2023 *2023-07-03* I have emailed several times asking if they could update the points schedule and no response. I don’t think the software is being supported anymore. Save your money. ### 3/5 — Frustrated!! Out of date for 2023! *2023-06-15* The 2023 Points schedule has been out for over a month! Please update this for 2023. I use this app bat every dog show i attend, or rather I did when it was up to date Please update, app is useless until you do. ### 3/5 — Points Not Calculating Correctly *2022-09-13, version 12.0* Veterans are supposed to be counted when calculating GCH points. Not only is the class winner not being included if you check the Veteran box, but there is no place to enter how many were present. Developer needs to check the AKC rules and update the app! Found another error. From AKC rules: “A dog awarded BOB will be credited with the number of GCH points calculated for BOB or BOS whichever is greater.” This is not handled correctly in the app.  ### 4/5 — Needs update *2022-06-24, version 11.0* Not updated to reflect new AKC point schedule issued May 2022. It’s frustrating trying to figure out if there are actual points awarded under the new rule. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Waste of money *2023-06-08* Just downloaded this to find out that the point schedule has not been updated since May 2022. So this app is completely unreliable. Furthermore, I found errors in its calculations not even to the point schedule. With a 1-3(0-2) entry, it calculated points for the WD if it went BOS and WB went BOB (and BOW). It doesn’t work that way because the WD didn’t defeat anyone in that situation and would not be entitled to any points. ### 1/5 — Works 9 months of the year - maybe *2022-06-15, version 11.0* It is a wonderful app. But once AKC changes to point schedule each year - it takes forever for the app to update! I can understand a couple weeks to update. But the new schedules come out early so it seems like a PAID app should be available all year. It would be 5 stars if we didn’t have to wait months EVERY YEAR for an update! ### 1/5 — Updated point schedule *2018-07-17, version 8.0* States that it has been updated for the 2018 point schedule, but no matter what you enter, it shows 0 all across the point schedule listed at the top (regardless of what Region you enter) and shows 5 points for all possible point placements, no matter what you put in for entry numbers. Needs a fix ASAP. Totally useless at this point. ### 1/5 — IShowCalc *2018-07-11, version 8.0* I just updated for the new points progression for 2018, and now the app doesn’t work at all. I get zeros across the board for the points needed, and the calculation shows 5 point majors for all placements. At this point my app is completely useless. After reading the other reviews more thoroughly I see that’s been a problem since at least 2016. The developers don’t seems to have responded to anyone’s requests for updates either. ### 1/5 — App no longer available?? *2018-06-07, version 7.1* I went to use it and get a pop up and says it is no longer available in the App Store. Went to the search in app and “this item is no longer available “. So glad I paid for it and can’t use it. ### 1/5 — UPDATE—-Not Happy *2018-05-21, version 7.1* I love this app and can’t imagine trying to calculate points without it. The one thing I really wish it would hold the number of dogs. It holds the breed and the state but every time you open it you have to type in the breed counts again. UPDATE: I loved this ap. Until the points were wrong. The app calculates WD is BOB (WB is BOS) completely wrong. I thought I had a 4pt major. AKC says it was only 3. So I have a lovely $40 photo that says new champion that I can’t use. I didn’t enter a few shows thinking I was finished. Not happy. The thing that makes me most upset is the developer won’t answer their email. Also, the new 2018 points are out and no update to the ap. (This has nothing to do with why I didn’t get 4pts). Overall this should be an invaluable tool but it’s not reliable. ### 2/5 — A few issues *2022-06-21, version 11.0* I emailed them about points showing incorrectly. No response. And can’t contact the developer through the link on the App Store. I have been using this app for a few years now and it has never updated on or around that date. I think the reviews are low because there was a year they had a glitch when the points were updated. They got the kinks worked out. I love iShowCal, it’s super easy to use. I recommend everyone everyone get it.
