## What is Ishtar Gate?

Explore Iraq with local knowledge and a clearer booking process. IshtarGate connects tourists with verified independent guides across major Iraqi cities.
Search by city, language, rate, and guide type. Request a date, time, duration, and meeting location; the guide accepts before you pay. Track payment verification and booking status in the app, group confirmed bookings into trips, and create a bilingual itinerary record with an expiring QR verification link.
Guides submit identity-verification materials privately, set their service area and rate, and manage incoming requests. IshtarGate support and direct Iraqi emergency-number shortcuts are available from the app. IshtarGate is not an emergency service, government authority, visa, permit, or security-clearance provider.
Payments are for in-person guide services and are currently verified manually from Western Union receipt details. Never pay until a guide accepts your request.
