### 3/5 — Great game idea but the mechanism needs work

*2026-06-07, version 1.1.4*

It’s a very fun casual game and I have completed all campaign levels. But when I’m trying to complete all challenge levels, the mechanism made it impossible to do so. I don’t know if the developer has passed all of them yet but like others've said it’s too random. I think at the least of the overall number of towers should have a minimum, sometimes it seems like the game is straight out doesn’t want you to win.

### 4/5 — Fun overall if RNG goes well

*2026-01-14, version 1.1.4*

The game is a fun tower defense type game but you build the path based on random pieces each round. The start of each match is a lot of fun but as the game goes on if you did not get plenty of towers you quickly get overrun fast and it’s all random what you might get. after a while you will need to defend two or three different roads but all with their own start and end point and that’s when the game get a bit unfair. As you are forced to build the same amount of defense for all new roads but with the same money and income you barely could keep up with a single road. Most times you will die from not being able to afford enough towers between all roads. Even if you aim to build new roads close to your older path’s towers you’ll never get the pieces you need to do so. The game needs some way to earn more cash , or strengthen all towers. Overall it’s a fun game but you’ll see once you are halfway through a level it gets gets very apparent you’re going to lose as each wave begins overwhelming you slowly.

The game also needs an undo placement option, so many times I accidentally placed something that I did not mean to and it ruins your run as it’s final once a piece is set.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2025-10-20, version 1.1.4*

Probably the best few quid I’ve ever spent on a game. Lovely graphics, subtle soundtrack and accessible learning curve.

I’d rather pay for the odd professional game like this, than have a hundred other ad-riddled ‘you’ve earned a badge’ drivel that’s out there for free.

### 5/5 — Le jeu est en français !!!!

*2025-10-16*

Contrairement à ce qui est indiqué le jeu est bien en français ! Un bon achat , jeu soigné avec des objectifs c’est cool !

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2025-10-04, version 1.1.4*

The best tower defence game I have played bar none! Easy to play but really really hard to complete some of the levels.

I hope the devs will add more options,

Recommended!!

### 5/5 — The perfect game

*2025-09-14, version 1.1.4*

Have played this every night for months now. On the road to 100%. This is the perfect roguelike casual TD game. At first it doesn’t seem like much but the gameplay loop is close to perfect. Only criticism is you do need a bit of luck for the more advanced levels. Would love to see a sequel. Excellent job dev!

### 5/5 — Mega

*2025-09-06*

Alle die sagen, dass es es zu schwer sei, fehlt der Skill und haben das Spielprinzip nicht verstanden.

### 5/5 — Extrem unterhaltsam

*2025-08-25*

Entspannende Musik, reduzierte, klare, unaufgeregte Ästhetik, fordernde (aber insgesamt durchaus machbare), raffiniert konstruierte Kampagnen sorgen für langdauernden Spielspaß. Perfekt!

### 5/5 — Very Well Made

*2025-08-08, version 1.1.4*

I haven’t been able to put the phone down since I bought a few days ago, and I’m already enjoying the countless strategies to defend and overcome. Awesome job. 10/10

### 3/5 — Great design. Bad playability.

*2025-07-28, version 1.1.4*

I really want to love this game, but unfortunately it is more of a game of chance than a game of strategy (which is the appeal of most tower defense games). After about 8 tries I can’t get past the first campaign level. Very frustrating to be stuck at the beginning when I just want to enjoy what appears to be a well designed game.

### 5/5 — Ingenuity

*2025-07-01, version 1.1.4*

This surpasses any other puzzle game I have encountered. Whenever, I used my first phone or IPad it is likely that I will choose this game over the many I have installed over the years.

### 2/5 — Grind and Gamble

*2025-06-30, version 1.1.4*

Like someone else on here mentioned…it’s built like a pay to advance game so it’s addicting at first but once you realize you have to grind and gamble the game loses its initial magic. With limited customization options, like difficulty, it really narrows the potential user base and replayability. Definitely not worth the money because it’s made for microtransactions so gameplay is throttled. After so many years you would think someone would add some tweaks to add replayability and enjoyment but they probably get more money scamming people into thinking this is a real game. They really had something here and threw it away.

### 5/5 — One of the best

*2025-06-27, version 1.1.4*

This game is a quintessential TD, meaning this is one of those TD’s that is in a league of its own. Smooth, slick art style, simple form and presentation and gameplay that is well balanced. The randomness of the tiles you get is what makes the game more of a pure experience, creating the path the enemy takes while also getting random towers, no two games are the same and it causes you to think on your feet in real time, not just reacting to a set amount of enemies flowing in wave after wave. It’s that mechanic that makes the play more organic and less cookie cutter. Can’t remember what I paid for this but whatever it was it’s totally worth it. Buy this game, works perfectly on the phone, it saves your matches when you stop suddenly or have to go. Too bad they haven’t made a sequel or a follow up to this game because it’s the real deal and deserves more notoriety. Awesome job making this game creators !

### 5/5 — 좋다

*2025-06-22*

갬성 디자인 변칙성 모두 좋다. 컨텐츠 더 내놓아라

### 5/5 — Worth the money

*2025-06-06, version 1.1.4*

Fantastic game. I downloaded it 2 months ago and I still play every day. The new levels and guilds keep it challenging and rewarding. Would recommend 👌

### 4/5 — You can ROTATE tiles!!!

*2025-05-07, version 1.1.4*

Am I the only one who didn’t realize this? The game was too difficult because the path tiles never matched up to my existing path, and extra frustrating because the tiles are displayed in a different orientation than they are placed. Turns out, you can TAP the tile to rotate it! This would’ve been great to tell me two years ago when I actually had free time, before having a baby. The game is very fun now that I know this, but alas I have no time to play anymore.

### 5/5 — Banger

*2025-04-24, version 1.1.4*

Absolute banger… worth the money. I keep coming back to this game. I can’t stop. It’s just so good. It is indeed… GOATED CREAM CERTIFIED.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Too buggy

*2026-04-16, version 1.1.4*

Sometimes buttons don’t work. I’ve only used this app for like 20 min and, so far, the buttons not working has caused me to forfeit an in-progress game and I was unable to start a new one. For an app that I had to pay for, this is unacceptable. Now add to the fact that it was ~$6 and you can see my frustration. I hope this gets fixed, cuz the game itself is fun.

### 1/5 — AI?

*2026-01-10, version 1.1.4*

Inconsistent and random generation of play area. Definitely tuned for the player to lose. Each and every gam, the difficulty level would increase with no way to win (towers used to defend would not populate. I had a whole isle full of flags in one instance. The last game I played, I had 6-7 towers at an early stage and easily lost. Ridiculous game for the price.

### 1/5 — Not fun after some playtime due to bad RNG.

*2025-10-15, version 1.1.4*

At first this game is lots of fun. But this wasn’t checked well for playability. Leave the first few levels and it is almost impossible to win. RNG will give you impossible to win games over and over again. I love games that are challenging but not games that are poorly thought out where it is more to chance than skill.

### 1/5 — Utlimate Masochistic Frustration

*2024-08-28, version 1.1.4*

This could have been one of the greatest TD games ever--except that it is only winnable if you have the hack. Otherwise, you will be at the complete mercy of an anti-player algorithm (forget the eyewash about it being "random").

### 1/5 — Lol

*2023-12-26, version 1.1.4*

Worst Td game ive ever played. Period. Its not even tactical its pure rng. Bad joke

### 1/5 — NO cloud save?

*2023-12-17, version 1.1.4*

I mean the game is an honest 10/10 but no cloud save is absolutely absurd.

### 1/5 — Should be called “just luck”

*2023-08-04, version 1.1.4*

This game isn’t about strategy but simply how the computer lucky draws you cards. You can play the same level a thousand times and it doesn’t matter the strategy behind your moves but simply the AI giving you benefits, which never ever happens

### 1/5 — NEEDS LANDSCAPE MODE PLS

*2023-06-26, version 1.1.3*

Needs landscape mode please….

### 1/5 — Boring and not worth money

*2023-01-18, version 1.1.3*

This is a boring game, all units look similar so you gotta keep checking what does what. It’s a small game, not much to do. I would not recommend this to anyone.

### 1/5 — Deeply flawed to the point of being a rip-off

*2023-01-04, version 1.1.3*

This game is an utter joke. Typically I’ll lay down tiles to where they loop around my towers, so that enemies are shot at on both sides…it’s still not enough. By the time you reach level 30 on the map, the enemies will be 3x faster than they were originally, and then have shields (that regen 🤦‍♂️) that need to be broken every few seconds in order to damage the units.

The units with bubbles are impossible to kill, especially at the speed they run. They need to be nerfed as it’s impossible to get to level 40.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Enjoyable game you can play offline

*2026-08-19, version 1.1.4*

Great strategy game that works offline. Great for commuting when the phone signal’s rubbish :)

### 5/5 — So much potential

*2026-07-26, version 1.1.4*

If only this game had regular updates or something

### 5/5 — 10/10 if you like roguelikes & td

*2026-06-09, version 1.1.4*

I never leave reviews but I put in so much time on this game

### 5/5 — Great Game + Enjoyable Brain Workout

*2026-03-22, version 1.1.4*

This game is fantastic. I don’t play mobile games, mostly because I game on desktop or console, but this one totally makes the cut. What I enjoy most is the strategy of the game. Great for long flights; time flies when you play. Worth the money.

Requests to the developer: enable landscape mode for iPhone and iPad, and save progress between the two.

### 5/5 — Incredible

*2026-01-25, version 1.1.4*

I’ve just gotten to 100% on both Campaign and Gauntlet and I can safely say that this is by far and away my most played iPhone game. I’ve stuck with it for years. It’s a smart take on the tower defense genre and I’d just like to share my appreciation to the developer for putting in so much craft and care into this.

### 5/5 — Great TD game

*2025-12-31, version 1.1.4*

Played tons of tower defense games but this one has a twist. You get to place the board down in whatever patterns you can piece together from randomly generated tiles/towers. It can be a tad frustrating as RNG will force you to lose sometimes however when you get some good pieces and put a plan together it's very satisfying. Game is challenging and worth the purchase price.

### 5/5 — You broke my favorite card combo!

*2025-12-27, version 1.1.4*

I have played Isle for several years and I absolutely love it. I probably play at least 3-4 hours a week. Highly recommend it. That said, y’all claim to have “fixed” an interaction where you can get infinite bridges/bombs/coins when some cards are randomly selected… it didn’t happen that often and I seriously want that interaction back. I’ve never seen the combo happen in a daily challenge, and that’s the only time I can see it being an issue. It’s nice to layout an entire map absolutely perfectly, and gives you an opportunity to sandbox and test stuff when it’s otherwise not possible. Please consider putting the “fix” back.

### 5/5 — Amazing game, endlessly playable

*2025-12-10, version 1.1.4*

I think this maybe the best TD game I have ever played. Challenging, unique and with each game completely different. Would love to see ToA2 soon!

### 5/5 — Great Brain Work Out

*2025-12-04, version 1.1.4*

I used to do the morning crossword and all the New York Times puzzles to exercise my brain. But once I started playing Isle of Arrows I thankfully could replace my former morning habit with something that was a little more fun but equally useful for using my logic in puzzle solving. This is not an easy game on the harder levels and the more you play the better you are at. It’s highly recommended.

### 5/5 — Been a fav for over a year

*2025-11-20, version 1.1.4*

In the top three games I play most often. I sorta meditate and listen to podcasts while I zone out constructing a labyrinth of death. Still loose sometimes, usually win. Hope they create an #2
