### 5/5 — Must Have

*2011-05-29, version 1.3.0*

If you are an attorney, CPA, contractor or anyone that needs to track your time and expenses for billing purposes, you need this app! Note, however that it specifically integrates with the Timeslips billing software. I have been fortunate to use the original iPhone version, and now the iPad release. It has allowed me to more accurately and timely capture billable time and expenses, and consequently increase my revenue. The built-in timers and mileage tracking also increase the accuracy of my data collection. The cost of the app, 64.99, is easily recovered by my increased billings. Support needs have been very infrequent, but very promptly handled. This app easily justifies my investment in my iPad. I can not recommend it more highly.

### 5/5 — Great app. Pays for itself. Great support

*2011-05-16*

Timekeeping was such a pain until we got iSlips. Now it's as simple as using an iPhone. When we had a technical problem (due to user error), Steve was immediately responsive to our email and went above and beyond what you would normally expect from technical support. I cannot recommend this app enough. It pays for itself in minutes.

### 5/5 — Must buy for Timeslips

*2011-03-14, version 1.2.0*

I have been using a Timeslips conduit on Palm devices for nearly 11 years but there was no update for these cloud devices like the Pre. This app installed once I figured out how to transfer an app purchased via computer on the iTunes store.

The app works just like the one I used on the Palm for over a decade as I happily inputted many events that occurred on the road that likely would not have found their way to a file and the billing program. Thanks for writing this app that does nothing but make me money. Now back to my recoverable time!

### 5/5 — Worth EVERY Penny

*2011-03-07, version 1.2.0*

$49.99 sounds like a lot for an iPhone app, but if you use Timeslips and have an iPhone, this app will pay for itself in no time. And the support is amazing! (Unlike Timeslips support.). I recently upgraded my laptop and was having trouble syncing with my 64-bit system. I emailed iSlips customer support and received a response (that solved my problem) within an hour.

### 5/5 — Terrific Support

*2010-10-13*

This program is a must have for anyone with Timeslips. The newest version adds 6 minute intervals, e-mail sync, and a list of "recents" for clients which really helps if you have a big database. Most importantly these guys are unbelievably responsive to e-mail questions and issues. Never had better support for an app.

### 5/5 — Fantastic!!!-Everything it's cracked up to be!

*2010-07-08*

If it sounds too good to be true... IT'S NOT!!!! This app is better than TS Remote for the Palm platform. Had a technical problem setting up on Windows 7-64bit, but Tech support responded with blazing speed comparable to AppleCare! They even called mr after hours! Even when they were unable to reach me after hours they immediately sent a e-mail with step by step instructions on a work around that really worked...the FIRST time. This company is a stand out example for all types of business! What a breath of fresh air! A great product, that does what it claims better than it claims, at a reasonable price, with dedicated tech support that follows through and won't give up. It's INSPIRATIONAL !

### 5/5 — Highly Recommended

*2010-05-26, version 0*

I highly recommend this App. It is quite worth the money. Something that no one has mentioned is that this app uses that abbreviations that are programmed into Timeslips. This is incredible as just like in Timeslips, I can enter "cw" and it balloons into "conference with" just the way we programmed the abbreviations in Timeslips. I also have the following suggestions:

1) As another user suggested, the app needs to have billing available at 0.1 increments (0.1 being equal to 6 minutes). A lot of attorneys bill at 0.1 increments, and it is not efficient to enter 6, 12, 24, etc. every time I want to enter the billing time. I suggest that there should be an option in setting where I can choose to bill at 0.1 increments or 0.25 for other attorneys. Then, just like in Timeslips, I would enter 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, etc. in the billing field instead of 6, 12, 24, etc.

2) As for Task or Activity field, in my case, I only have one entry for "Legal Services." If there was option in Setting for Default Task/activity, it would be great, so that I don't have to pick "Legal Services" every time.

3) In the "clients" tab, it would be great where I could tap the top of the screen and be able to type the first few letters of the case name in order to pick the case name. I know I can tap on the side column on the appropriate letter to get the case, but the foregoing is more efficient when a firm has a lot of billable cases.

4) For entering mileage, the whole idea of calculating it is great. However, it does not allow me to pick someone out of my contacts. It seems that my options are only to pick my client's address, my office address, or use the iPhone's gps, unless I want to manually enter an address. So, if there was an option to tap an icon to get into my contacts, it would be great.

5) As for iSlips program that I have downloaded to my computer, the background screen is quite distracting. Sometimes, I cannot read the prints or what's on the fields. Please change the background.

6) I am not sure if something can be done about the following, but as for syncing, I wish I could just go to the iSlips on my iPhone and hit the sync button and just sync the data. Instead, I have to also open up the iSlips on my computer, hit sync, then find my iPhone and hit sync again. By analogy, I have the Todo app which has the same syncing idea, but in that one all I have to do is to just hit the sync button on its program on the iPhone and it syncs. I don't have to open up the Todo program on my computer. If this could get changed, it would be great. At the minimum, I should not "find" my iPhone every time I open the iSlips on my computer.

7) Finally, it would be great if I could sync over the air - not just through wifi. I would love to be able to sync while I am out of the office.

I really like this app, and I can see it getting much better. This is why I took my time to type the above suggestions. I hope the developer reads the suggestions, and try to implement as many of them as possible. Thank you for the great app.

### 5/5 — Excellent app for law firms

*2010-05-17*

The new version of iSlips works great for our law firm. We have a large database of clients, and the prior version would freeze up. We were very impressed by the personal communication from the designer. He kept us in the loop with regard to his revisions, and he produced an update that addressed all of our issues. The ability to capture time while out of the office, and have it seamlessly integrate into Timeslips upon return, has been a wonderful addition to our practice. Thank you to Steve and his Brainfreeze team!

### 5/5 — Perfect app!

*2010-04-30*

I've constantly been looking for an app I could sync with Timeslips. This app nails it; it paid for itself several times over in the first few days. I also have to rave for customer support; I had a question during the initial sync and had a response very quickly.

This app has made me realize how much time I missed billing for when I was not near my desktop to track it. The interface is so easy to use; I actually prefer it to the desktop and just sync it whenever I'm back in the office. Can't rave enough about this app.

### 5/5 — Someone finally did it! And did it right!

*2010-03-26, version 0*

I have been searching the app store monthly for two years for this app! Once I found it, after it came out two weeks ago, I was more than a bit concerned. So I emailed my concerns. 3 hours later an actual response - from a human. A human that actually knew what my concerns were and answered them. I am not making this up! I swear. I had a number more questions so I asked this person, steve, to call when he had a chance. 45 minutes later. Seriously 45 minutes. Steve calls me and takes a half hour to answer, honestly and intelligently, every tech and function question I had. Based on the level of service alone, before I had spent a cent, I was convinced. So I got it three hours ago. I set an hour aside to configure it. It was about 55 minutes more than needed. It was up and running in about 5 minutes. I spent the last two hours catching six weeks of billing notes up. Everything synced flawlessly. No glitches. No misapplied slips. No missing slips. No invoice lockup (for those time to time users). Frankly it is hard to believe anyone could have been more skeptical than I was about plunking down 50.00 a head for even a small office. But, in time saved in entry and slips which may otherwise not be entered absent the "easy factor" this app should make you money after the first day. It's 50.00, stop thinking about it and get it. At our rates two calls which we wouldn't typically bother to bill will pay it off. The rest is profit and time saved entering slips. To steve and all the rest that made this app come to be - a million thanks. Just one favor though, maybe a tenth (.1=6min) option for time entry in the update. I will go nuts going to per minute or doing the conversion in my head for too long. (I had to be critical of something, otherwise no one would believe I was a lawyer. ; ) )

### 5/5 — iSlips where have you been all my billable life!

*2010-03-20*

The application has paid for itself in the first week of owning it. This is a lot faster than booting up my laptop and Timeslips. I love the fact that I can start a slip when making a call to a client. The mileage calculator is a nice touch. This is a must have application for anyone who owns Timeslips and has an iPhone.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Warning: Not yet ready for prime time

*2012-03-31*

Great concept, but impossibly complex ind inconvenient to keep working. Setup is a b****h. Unstable synchronization issues essentially nullify the convenience of having this app. At this price, a waste of money and the considerable time our IT staff spent trying to get the app to work consistently. IPad billing entry is a must, so our 11-attorney firm switched to the sleek and powerful TimeManager, which has a web interface and an app on the way.

### 1/5 — Hopless

*2012-03-06*

Bught this app and it dosent work tried to comunicate with support they just speak technical mumbo jombo. Asked to be refunded but refused. This app is a rippoff do not buy it.

### 1/5 — App won't set up properly

*2011-05-19*

First off, having read the earlier reviews I knew that there was a program that had to be loaded onto my computer to make this app work. I looked in the obvious spots to locate it but I could not find it anywhere. Finally I had to contact Support, which is only available via email submission.

Now that I have finally got the computer component loaded, I have been trying to get the iPhone and the computer program to sync. NO LUCK. First off, the tutorials are filmed on a system that is already set up. As such, the tutorial jumps over steps or assumes the user has a degree in computer software. Again, back to emailing Support for assistance. I am then stuck waiting for Support to email me back before I can move ahead.

Once I find which file I need loaded into the sync mode, the program won't sync. GRRRRR. It now says I have to upload Bonjour. "What the hell is Bonjour?" , I ask myself. I have no idea where to go. As such, I have spend a day trying to get this stupid app to work and have lost more time then I will make up in the short term.

The support for this app should be immediate as I don't have time for my computer to sit idle while I am hitting the refresh button on my email as I impatiently wait for a response.

If iSlips would buy back this annoying app, I would take the offer in a heartbeat.

Save yourself the aggravation and the money, don't purchase this app.

### 2/5 — Could Be So Much Better

*2011-06-24*

This app is crazy expensive. I regret buying it, and I have never regretted buying another app. For this price, it should sync your slips in its own. Instead you have to install a program on your computer, sync the phone to that program (requiring many confusing steps) and then sync the program to iTunes and then go through the whole process the other way every time. It's a thousand times faster to just use the LogMeIn Ignition app to access your computer and open TimeSlips on your computer and enter time that way. It's a lot faster just to jot down time on a scrap of paper or in a note-taking app and then just input the time manually when you get to the office. I don't understand why they made this so awfully unpleasant and difficult. When I had a Palm Pilot, a much less expensive program would sync my TimeSlips automatically in the background every time I would sync my phone.

### 4/5 — Need to restore ability to rotate view for typing

*2014-10-10*

As an attorney, this is the most used application on my phone. The last version was a solid five stars. However, for some reason they took away the ability to rotate the view so you can use the larger keyboard. For anyone who takes detailed notes while working it is very annoying to have to use the small keyboard in upright mode. If they fix that it goes back to a solid five stars.

### 4/5 — Additional features or enhancements.

*2012-10-19*

It appears that a long data entry may not be completely transferred to the PC during the sync process.
Would like to see the ability to add new clients in iSlips for transfer to the host timeslips.

Now that I've used it's application, I rely on it to help me keep track of potentially lost time. Keep up the good work.

### 4/5 — Great Potential

*2010-07-26*

this app has great potential. currently it is adequate to transfer to tslips through manual sysnch for Win 64 bit systems like mine. once the issues with 64 bit get worked out I see nothing but blue skys. If you travel as lot as I do, this app will work for you.

### 5/5 — Great Software

*2019-03-12*

Been using for several years. Support is as good as the software.
Excellent product.

### 5/5 — Great tool for Timeslips users

*2017-09-06*

This is a great tool for Timeslips users. While TS might not be the best thing out there, this really adds an easy to use remote function. The sync is pretty simple and I've never had a problem with it. It's worth every penny in captured time!

### 5/5 — Works great !

*2017-07-11*

Works great if you follow the directions and know what you're doing

## Most praised reviews (7 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Best and Most Used App

*2014-07-19*

I love this app! I use it both on my iPhone and my iPad. I hate keeping track of my time and this makes it so much easier. It has earned back it's cost 100 fold.

### 5/5 — Fantastic support and App

*2014-05-12*

I can't say enough about this app or the support. I use it constantly and it is seamless. On the few occasions I've had a problem Steve is back with an email within the day.

Just get it-it's a very useful, fantastic app.

### 5/5 — totally Great

*2013-12-08, version 1.4.2*

Bill just 1/2 hour and it pays for itself.

Works great.

Support is terrific

Put it on your iPhone. Put it on your iPad.

Quit losing your time

### 5/5 — Comprehensive upgrade of an already first-class app

*2013-08-01*

As previously reviewed, this is the missing link that Sage stupidly forgot and that links their DOS-based business model to the way lawyers actually run their practices today. This is a lifesaver.

### 5/5 — It paid for itself the first time I used it and it keeps on paying

*2012-02-04*

May seem like an expensive app, but if you use timeslips it will pay for itself over and over.
I have been able to capture 10s of thousands of dollars in time that I ordinaraly would not capture on the run.
Easier to input info than timeslips.
Quick and efficient response from support.
Syncs seamlesly
Does everthing it says it does and does it well.

### 5/5 — Great Program

*2011-10-17*

Every lawyer that uses Timeslips should also use iSlips. The customer support is fantastic. I really don't understand the negative posts. I followed the instructions and I was up in no time. I especially enjoy using iSlips on my iPad.

### 5/5 — Outstanding Product

*2011-07-24*

Paid for itself already. Great customer feedback. My first review because this product does one thing other apps haven't. It makes money for me.

Product exceeded expectations. Well done.
