I just redownloaded it because I thought I had an old version. But nope. Just a really poor app. The product is ok. Then kept resetting itself for a week. Then worked for a day….then stopped working all together. Totally forgot about it for a year, then we just had a power outage and now the thing keeps chiming. It’s on a garage door unit 20’ up on the ceiling so now I have to dig out the giant ladder and rip the thing out and throw it away. Weeks of CS emails and calls and they basically said “it should work. It’s your internet/phone/iOS/wall/ceiling/power.” Every excuse except the real one - our product does not work. DO NOT BUY THIS GARBAGE! ### 1/5 — Broken since HomeKit update *2023-04-16* Everything worked as expected when I first installed this about a year ago. But ever since the HomeKit update with new architecture (16.2) the app has been completely useless and the unit no longer works at all. It has not been updated for years! ### 1/5 — Anbindung CarPlay fehlt…. *2026-02-13, version 2.8.2* Die Installation mit dem automatischen Öffner von Sommer überhaupt kein Problem. Sinnvoll wäre es natürlich nicht am Handy fummeln zu müssen, wenn ich im Auto sitze, was meistens der Fall ist wenn ich es in die Garage/Carport fahren möchte, sondern über CarPlay. Sonst macht das alles wenig Sinn. Frage an die Entwickler: wann kommt das Update? Die Werbung auf der Homepage, dass keine weiteren zusätzlichen Geräte notwendig sind, ist schlichtweg falsch behauptet und gelogen, um Kunden anzulocken. Die Wahrheit ist, dass ein Apple Pod benötigt wird oder etwas äquivalentes. Hätte ich das gewusst, hätte ich die Finger davon gelassen. Leere Worte keine Rückmeldung vom Entwickler und falsche Versprechen. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work after ios26 *2025-10-09, version 2.8.2* Had a Gogogate2 for 10 years and upgraded to iSmartgate Lite earlier this year to add Homekit. It went in fine, first time. Since ios26 the automations stopped working so I have deleted all instances of it and factory reset. Despite following the instructions, waiting for a solid blue light and a flashing green status light, it will not connect. It does ask for the app to be allowed access to the wifi but nothing more. Once done, the device has a green wifi light and I can see in my router that it is connected to wifi but nothing in Homekit and nothing in iSmartgate. I can only conclude it does not work with ios26 and I now have a brick ### 1/5 — Baffling interface *2025-07-25, version 2.8.2* This app has the most totally baffling interface I have ever seen. Customer Support responds: “Please note that for security reasons, you need to TYPE in the credentials for the iSmartgate.” Any company that believes this is not security minded. Me he quedado fuera sin poder entrar ### 1/5 — Incredibly awful product *2024-01-06* I bought one of these 5 years ago, and eventually got it to work with my garage door; however it features an incredibly annoying bright flashing light accompanied by an even more annoying beep beep noise. After numerous complaints to the company, they finally admitted this warning "feature" could be disabled.... But only by doing a complete factory reset and then reconfiguring everything. Idiots! Even worse, when my internet provider "upgraded" my Wi-Fi, iSmartgate ground to a halt. Factory says I must do a reset, and then completely reconfigure the whole device. Absolutely unacceptable! ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Great System and Service *2026-06-17, version 2.8.2* I have seen a lot of people state they have had issues with the App or setup. Ok to be fair I did get my GoGate2 professionally installed but that was some years ago and I have two doors controlled and never an issue with the App or the device until I change the batteries in the remote device. It was a simple fix that the support team advised me of which was just make sure the battery clips were pushed in a bit and hey presto all works again. As far as I am concerned a fantastic gadget which saves me so much time coming home from work and just driving into the garage without getting out the car. Would highly recommend. ### 5/5 — ISmartgate Pro einfach tadellos *2023-08-28, version 2.8.2* Steuere damit 3 Tore funktioniert einfach auch mit HomeKit über die Watch sehr gut. Ein Tor ist über 50 Meter entfernt benutze hier den Kabelgebundenen Magnetkontakt. Kann das Produkt nur empfehlen. Although the sensor has had a few minor issues the system itself has never missed a beat. Never had a single issue with it. I have it tied in to Apple HomeKit as well and that works perfectly as well. Integration with Appel Home requires the included sensor (even though my installation does not as my gate auto-closes after a delay). Tech support helped me solve the integration quickly and it just works. Have a fairly decent Internet connection to the garage which helps. Only thing that is a downside is there is no Apple Watch app despite GoGate (same company) having the feature, would love to see my camera and open the door with touch on the watch, like with GoGate.
