After having so much trouble with the local maps and street sign as well as unknowingly racking up data charges using the preloaded map on my iPhone 4 I decided to load this app. Never once did I have a problem. I primarily stayed in Haifa where the streets are confusing enough without the road construction going on. Several times I had to turn off of the predetermined to route because of construction and this app immediately recalculated and put me back on course. So many features are in this app and you really have to play with it to get the most out of it. I did use this app to travel to all points of Israel and never once did it let me down. No data roaming charges at all. Definitely love the POI feature as well. This came in handy to find hotels, food etc. when I really had no idea where I was at. I will definitely get this app for any other countries I will travel in. Update 12-June-17: Was 5 stars but now downgraded to 1 star. I have downloaded the app again on an iPhone 7. Now I can't get it to display in English. There is one button (I assume I am in the setup mode but since it is in Hebrew, I don't know what it means) and every time I have tapped it the screen goes black. I have deleted and reloaded three times now with no success. I even attempted to press random buttons hoping to get lucky. I have no choice but to dump the app as it is now useless. Oddly the Italy and Costa Rica maps still function correctly. ### 2/5 — Язык перевода *2016-06-18* В магазине всё на иврите, даже если ты выбираешь другой язык в региональных настройках. Поставил. Он открывается на ивритских иероглифах. В описании этого нет. Естественно думаешь что интерфейс хотя бы на инглише будет. Помогите кто знает. ### 4/5 — Igo israel *2013-12-03* Пользовался неделю . первый раз за рулем в Израиле. Хайфа, Иерусалим, мертвое море, Бен Гурион. Вобщем достойно, единственно на мертвое море пытался провести из Иерусалима через юг практически через бер шеву. Прикололи команды вроде: "через 80 метров держитесь!!!" ### 1/5 — Language problem *2013-11-20* Not only in starts in Hebrew, being launched for the first time. But more, with application running in languages other than English (I tried Russian) it shows all the names (cities, POI, etc.) in Hebrew. Карты недостоверные - несколько раз не мог найти нужного адреса, причем не где-нибудь в глубинке, а в Тель-Авиве. В списках Points of Interest - все названия объектов на иврите, невозможно найти нужный объект без знания языка. After repeated downloads, so far it seems that by selecting English it only gives an English voice and NOT English text on the map. ### 5/5 — Best interface - works fine on iOS 5.01 and 5.1 (beta) *2012-01-23* Tried a few navigation apps for Europe and this has the best navigation interface by far. The Israel version is just as good, the local database is very detailed, leading to easy to follow navigation instructions. BUT... This app takes FOREVER to load, not to mention that it will very often crash while loading (say 8 times out of 10). To make things more "interesting" it sometimes slows down to point where it takes several seconds to respond to a button push... In short - great navigational capabilities rendered almost useless by a buggy first implementation (for Israel). Looking forward to the bug fixes… ------- Updated for 2.2.1 version on iPhone 4S --------- All the above cons were fixed by NGG (or irrelevant on 4S) so I'm a happy camper now :-) Addition of Traffic status, speed camera alerts and satellite view FREE :-)) ### 5/5 — Philip Hazou - great product *2011-11-11* The product is great. Accurate and supports English / Hebrew and Arabic perfectly. Проехал по Израилю 1300 км вдоль и поперек в течение недели - никаких нареканий. Карта доступна на русском, англ. и иврите. Никаких сбоев, торможений, зависаний не было. Считаю, что прога стоит своих денег, себя окупила полностью! Единственное нарекание, не смог найти, как запоминать текущее положение, чтобы вернуться на исходную точку. Допускаю, что просто сам не разобрался, не было времени. В остальном - простой интерфейс, который удалось изучить буквально за рулем. ### 5/5 — Great iPhone Satnav *2011-04-28* Bought this app for our pesach trip 2011. Worked brilliantly. Was much cheaper than renting a Satnav from the car rental company. Takes a bit of fiddling around to get used to the different screens and functions- I'd recommend you experiment for a bit using different screens and searches before you begin using it properly. Some points of interest are old- eg restaurants that have closed down etc. I agree that there are not good tourist poi - so do not try and use this as a tour guide. 1 huge drawback though- which is not specific to this Satnav- is overheating. On a +1hr drive in the heat to Jerusalem the iPhone got so hot it had to emergency shut down!! The combo of sun beating down on it and heat generated from intensive use is a big problem. We had to pull over to side of road just as we entered Jerusalem and wait for it to cool down. For shorter trips 45min this wasn't a problem.
