"My daughter is in the 5th grade learning States and Capitols (and having a difficult time focusing on it). Your App was exactly what I was looking for to help her study (doing it on her iPod always makes it more fun). Thanks again." iStates (and iCapitals) is an education and fun game which helps children and adults learn their states and capitals with help from the iPhone. A map of the United States is shown and by selecting a state you are asked to select both the correct name of the state and the capital. As you correctly answer the states a smiley is placed on the map and the name of the state and capital is removed from the selection list. If the state is selected after the correct name and capital is answered, a list of facts about that state is shown. When all states have been answered correctly, your score is presented (number of incorrect answers). If you get all the states correct with no mistakes, you are presented with the ability to add you name to the Winners List which every user of the game can see under preferences This is great learning fun for the whole family. Great fun and educational as well as good to pass the time on a long trip or any other time when you have a few minutes to spare. You have to point at a state, then choose both the name *and* capital from two scrolling lists. If you get it wrong, you get horrible audio feedback. You can't just start out easy with just state names. The preferences are non-standard, on the map itself, and the only saving grace is you can turn off the audio feedback. Lots of room for improvement. ### 4/5 — exercising my memory *2009-08-17* Great exercise, it's designed to really test your memory. Just wondering if this can be upgraded so it gives us a selection to choose three formats ? instead of jumping into State & Capital. It should begin with naming the States, then the capitals, and finally State and Capitals, then this program is really sweet ! the yellow or red circle that show up after answering is too small, can that be enlarged to four times the size ?
