Im a beginner surfer and this app showed me more than my surfing coach told me. I would reccomend this app to any surfer, begginer to advanced. If you are an advanced surfer then you can learn new tricks or just brush up on the easier stuff. Begginers espcially should use this because it shows you the basics, like paddiling out, finding a wave, standing up, etc. When the app explains "how to do something" there is usally, a helpful video to go along with the diagram and written instruction.
