## Most critical reviews (4 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Decent but unstable

*2021-06-30*

The app seems to crash when using airplane mode so the offline support isn't usable even though the FAQ on the website claims it should work fine. Offline support is an essential feature for a reading app IMO.

Good content and Customer support was responsive, but I'd buy their books on a competing platform with a more stable mobile app.

### 1/5 — App closes when attempting to open book

*2020-12-27*

For several days now tried to open the enterprise devops book, and the app just closes.

### 2/5 — Buy the Physical Copy

*2024-07-18*

Worst digital reading experience I’ve had. I would have preferred just downloading a PDF version of this book.

1) Doesn’t save spot when starting and stopping reading. I spent more time finding where I left off reading the last time than actually reading the content.

2) Glitching highlighter bar stays open with sometimes no fix and sometimes workaround fixes to make it go away. Example: tapped twice on every page turn…once to turn and again to make the bar that reappears go away.

3) can’t undo highlights or bookmarks. At least I couldn’t figure out how to do it, if the functionality exists.

4) no page numbers for reference. I guess that is mostly needed because it doesn’t open to the page you left off at.

### 3/5 — Flaky

*2021-01-17*

I’ve been using the app to read a few titles from IT Revolution. The app is passable for a reader, it allows me to pick my title and read it. There are controls to adjust the display output. That’s about where the joy of the app ends.

The top title bar over laps with 1/8th of the top line of text on the page. Resuming from where you stopped is terrible, it always defaults to the beginning of the chapter for me. Generally, the app doesn’t provide a smooth, seamless experience.

I’d like to have an option to import the book material into iBooks or download the document as a PDF.

In lieu of that, I guess I need to buy the paperback.
