Recently upgraded to this new app, been using the old one for years, not that flexible but no operational issues either. 
This new app, although improved in many ways, has one glaring issue, it never reloads!
When I go back into the app, it displays the temp from when it was last opened and not the current temp as displayed on the room stat. To remedy this I need to close the app down and then re-open it, EVERY SINGLE TIME, it’s so frustrating, please fix it!

It’s good for when you’re out of the house & want the heating put on for you getting home. Other times it’s a nightmare. Today for example it wouldn’t knock the heating off. It kept switching it back on no matter how many times I checked it was off. The heating has been on constantly for 4 hours. 😤 there hasn’t been an update for the app in over 4 years & the developers don’t seem interested in fixing any glitches or updating  the software.

It generally seems to work ok and has the functionality you need, but unless my phone is on the blink it seems to drain the battery for some reason. Someone else noted a similar thing about being resource heavy... well I would probably agree.

Other than that, when you change the time or temperature on the central heating you have to leave your phone on that screen for a little while otherwise it doesn’t save whatever change you’ve made.

After a frustrating year with this I have updated the app a few times and am happy to say it is improving. It crashes must less, the hot water boost works and it’s generally better/faster. I still find myself manually adjusting the temperature a lot though (sensitivity issue for me - see below). 3.5 stars if I could give it that. 

I do still lose a controller every now and then, taking the batteries out resolves (no use if you’re not at home tho!). And it’s annoying you still have to use all three hot water on/off times.

It would also be good to be able to toggle the sensitivity- if you set the temp to 20, it doesn’t turn the heating off until the temp is 21 etc. For me that is about an hour of over heating and half an hour later the controller registers another degree warmer even after the heating is off. I have a very well insulated house with small radiators though...

I have has a Salus IT500 for a few years now and recently added a second zone to split my heating upstairs/downstairs. 
The thermostat itself is fine and seems good quality and the app is pretty easy to use (TBH I almost never use the physical thermostat and mostly use the app instead). 
There are however some glaring issues, the main one being that the app crashes nearly every time it’s opened. In fact, it happens so often that I now assume it will crash before I can use it. It’s been like this for at least a year - seemingly Salus are unable or unwilling to fix it. 
The second issue is that the app doesn’t connect with any other applications, IFTTT, forget it. This means that you can’t really do anything clever and you basically just have a remote control for your heating. This wouldn’t be so bad if the app’s resident location functionality worked (which it doesn’t). 
If I had my time again I’d opt for a more expensive smart thermostat from a different supplier.

We found the original app extremely frustrating, kept changing settings, switched on when we turned it off, time band ALWAYS showed the wrong time range, even called Salus, they didn't really have much idea! Upgraded to the new IT500 Plus app thinking it might be an improvement but sadly it isn't. Some functions are easier to use, quite like the rheostat style temperature setting but still has the same problem with switching to "Schedule" even when it has been turned off.
Wish we had opted for a manual Honeywell controller, at least that did what we wanted.

UPDATE: January 2018
We have now had this system for just over two years, the app has been updated a few times but the same problems still exist and have NOT been resolved. 
We switch our heating to OFF every night using the app, several times we have woken up to find that it has switched itself to MANUAL and fired up the boiler. 
This could be an excellent system, sadly it isn’t because the control app is so unreliable. Bearing in mind that there is no other way to control the heating other than directly on the boiler (ours in the loft), the thermostat has no ability to switch things on and off so the hardware and the app are very badly developed, Salus Technical and Customer Support is virtually non existent, ignoring emails and the telephone. 
Someone desperately needs to grab this company by the dangly bits and give it a damned good shake, I have yet to see ANY positive reviews and I suspect that there will not be any until a major, successful overhaul of their IT500 Plus product takes place

Ok, the app is poor and lacking in common sense and functionality.  Please fix it.  The internet connection piece on my device died after 1/2 a day of use...not impressive.  I rang up Salus on Monday and the next day they had sent me a replacement adaptor and internet connector no questions asked.  The customer service person couldn't have been more helpful.  Seems like they are trying so I'll give a good rating for that, but ffs sort the app.

Now it won’t work at all...keeps suggesting a firmware update which doesn’t work, rendering the app completely unusable.  Well done Salus, you win the worst app ever award

App always lets you down. Often, and when you need it to work the most, it’s offline meaning you can’t turn the heating on remotely. At those times the schedule appears to save but closing then reopening shows that any changes weren’t saved. And being out and turning the heating on is hit and miss as the app will show the boiler is on only to arrive at a cold house. Even when it does work the schedule options are risible. No delete option for individual timings so you end up with 6 or 7 “off” settings… No updates to app in a year? And the thermostat isn’t accurate to the point where we’ve had to put it in the fridge to trigger the heating to come on. Rubbish. Hive next year.

Device unreachable from external network! Remote access only works when you’re in same LAN with the module. Whole solution is now useless.

This just reviews the app,  which is like the physical control itself - not very good.  The app does sometimes allow me to turn the boiler on and off, and to set a basic schedule at the cost of some irritation.  I asked for a smart thermostat, I didn’t realise that my gas engineer was so cheap as to install something as lacking in functionality as this.  I’m not doing business with him again.

UPDATE!  I though I hated this piece of crap until today, when it refused to let me even attempt to control my boiler unless I updated firmware but refused to let me do so, on the grounds that the device had 'insufficient battery'.  I've replaced the battery but the thing is still refusing to work.  Salus are bums selling rubbish, of which this app is a crappy example.

I’ve written a review for this twice now (this being my third) as my reviews have not come up, why?
It’s far quicker and simpler to control your heating using the thermostat rather than the app. Despite many many reviews from unhappy customers you are still required to enter your full email address and password each time you go into the app.. it is quicker to go to my thermostat and adjust it manually.
It’s a simple fix, perhaps the developers could sort this issue out or maybe just respond to any of the complaints.. I doubt this will happen though. Save yourself time and stress and buy a better system, we’re now getting Hive as it’s meant to be very efficient and user friendly.

It’s hard to believe how bad this app is. The customer support is good and they have been trying to improve this app over the past few years but it is terrible. It looks good and so does the physical thermostat but the app is just too unreliable. You set one thing, it does another. You think you’ve corrected it and something else weird happens. Boiler comes on when it’s set to be off, timer doesn’t kick in when it’s supposed to, etc. My advice is to stay clear of Salus simply because of the app and buy a Nest, which I will do when I can afford one!

Печально но факт, на территории россии приложение больше не работает. Уже больше двух месяцев нет соединения с сервером, а разработчики только извинились прислав электронное письмо. 15 тысячь ко у под хвост.

This app has been faulty now for almost a year and the support seems to be dropping off too. I’m getting tired of asking for the app to function as intended and for Salus to simply ignore my requests. Please resolve issues highlighted previously and test the app prior to release. Thank you
Update: please fix your current offering of apps and devices before releasing new ones!!!! This app is 2 months old now and is full of faults to even be useable or reliable. Previous updates have not fixed any issues so far and have left the app in a poor state of usability!!

We had this installed a few weeks ago when our old Salus sensor stopped functioning after a problem free eight/nine years.
The app is very easy to use making controlling  our heating from my iPhone or MacBook a doddle. No problems with connectivity despite our boiler being sited in the loft.

I’ve had my Salus IT500 for over 10 years since 2013.  It has been consistently reliable. I can switch between automatic to manual to preset settings. 

If you have a problem it’s usually because the batteries (which last for ages) in the remote thermostat need replaced or the wall receiver is off. Otherwise it’s problem free and easy to use the app on my iPhone. 

It’s a cost saving value for money product.

Now using a second iT500 at another site and very pleased with it. Have received good support from tech support team when enquiring about which thermostat to use for my particular application. Seems that they have got their act together well since some of the adverse comments from several years ago. Also like the app which feels very intuitive. Would buy another one

По началу пожалел, что купил этот термостат и написал гневный отзыв. Раньше приложение очень глючило. Такое ощущение, что его даже не тестировали. На разных версиях айфонах были  видны не все функции.
Геолокация тоже глючила, уведомление об уезде выскакивает, но кнопки ОК нет, что бы его убрать, нужно перезапускать приложение, через принудительное завершение. Но это все было три года назад когда купил. 
Сейчас же ни каких претензий. Уже давно допилили приложение, температура теперь изменяется по 0.1 градусу, а не 0.5 как раньше. Даже уровень сигнала теперь  показывает. Из синусов теперь одно, показаний влажности нахватает у прибора. В целом все отлично, так что меняю одну звезду на 5.

As I had used the previous version for some time it took a bit of getting used to but now it is so much easier to use. You just swipe a finger to raise or lower temperature manually. Setting up schedule is so simple with an interface similar to other apps, just swipe up from the bottom then arrow across for desired temperature. Easy.

Everything works very good no problems at all, very good when you going home after work look to the app for temperature if its to low just turn in on and when you come back home its worm already, no need constantly heat up your house just press on when you want or when you need

Had my heating and app installed 4 years ago. Had a new temp. Controller 2 years ago. I’m now having problems with the firmware update 11.4. My  iPad and iphone are supposedly not compatible anymore. My mobile is listed as ok to use the app, however the update runs and the update is not happening. Had no other problems I’ve been happy with things in general.

I’ve had this for a few years now and in the main it works fine. I find if I adjust heating from app, turn up/down, switch off etc, then close the app, it does not seem to do what is requested. I therefore leave the app open in the background and it seems to work fine like that. There’s a few times it has played up but in the main I’m happy with it.

С обновлением всё заработало, плюс теперь прога показывает с точностью до 0,1 градуса, раньше было 0,5. Но есть и огромный минус на iPhone поставить точную температуру превращается в мучение, выставляешь 24 градуса убираешь палец и установка сбивается. Измените регулятор температуры на колесо или что то другое. Спасибо.

With the update it all worked, plus now the program shows with an accuracy of 0.1 degrees, before it was 0.5. But there is a huge minus on the iPhone to put the exact temperature turns into torment, expose 24 degrees to remove the finger and the installation is knocked down. Change the temperature regulator to the wheel or something else. Thank you.

The latest software and firmware updates (May 2018) add functions to keep it up with the pack (TPI and delay start in particular) also the distance alerts seem to be working now.  I suppose I wont know for certain if the additions have improved it until the cold weather.  Would be nice to have homekit integration, now it can be achieved with software authentication
