It only bc italist sources out and finds these items at various smaller shops in Italy. They basically source out the deals. So it seems the shipping depends on the store it’s purchased from. I bought amazing, completely legit stuff including an Alexander McQueen bag, a Balenciaga sweater and a bunch of other things. I paid what I would have paid if I was in Italy including no vat (like you had that taken out at the airport through the tax free machine :). So long story short, I love this site. In addition, it is nearly impossible to perform a search of something simple. Once you finally figure it out, the search results do not match the filters used. This app is useless as is and I’m shocked it was released with so many issues. ### 1/5 — SCAM ALERT – DO NOT TRUST THIS APP! Horrible Service, No Accountability *2025-07-26* I spent thousands of dollars on my order, and this app has completely failed me. Italist is unreliable, unreachable, and possibly a scam. 1. Return process is broken. I tried to return an item, but the system kept giving me an error. When I tried to chat with an agent, it said they were offline and someone would follow up by email — NO ONE EVER DID. After multiple attempts and emails over several days, the return page now says “return requested,” but nothing was ever submitted properly. I never got a label, confirmation, or any real communication. This is completely unacceptable for a company handling luxury-level purchases. 2. Item canceled by the seller, not me — no refund. One of the items in my order was canceled by Italist, yet I have not received a refund. I did not cancel this item. The cancellation came from them, and now they’re just sitting on my money with zero explanation or effort to resolve the issue. There is no phone number, no real-time chat support, and no one answers emails. For a platform that claims to sell high-end, luxury goods, this is absolutely disgraceful. Once they take your money, you’re on your own. BUYERS BEWARE: This app looks polished, but behind the scenes it’s a mess. No support, no accountability, and no basic functionality. Save yourself the stress — do not shop here. I’m pursuing a chargeback and filing complaints with relevant consumer protection agencies. **Developer response:** Hi - I can promise you we are not a scam, but I am sorry that you had such a poor experience. 1. Returns - we had some downtime with our Returns system last week, which may be the issue here. Everything is now fixed, so if you want to email customercare@italist.com with your Order Number, we can look into this for you right away. 2. Sometimes products go out of stock before we can ship them, so they are cancelled. However, in these cases you will always receive a refund. Once we have your order number we can process the refund immediately and look into what went wrong. We do not have a phone number but do respond to all emails within 24 hours. Again, once you email us we can escalate this and look into it immediately. ### 1/5 — The WORST *2025-07-16, version 1.0.81* Dont buy from this app no body answer its fake and you can check the comments on there social media some of them receive fake item i didn’t receive my package yet and no one reply i try email and chat ### 1/5 — Abusive return costs *2023-07-05, version 1.0.31* Italist charges 30 eur to return an order within Europe. If I chose the courier myself, it’d cost no more than 16 eur with tracking an insurance. ### 1/5 — Wired charging policy and non functional App *2023-06-10* When was placing and order the App would shows this message “please try later”. After rechecking for few days contacted the customer service and was told to use a desktop which worked. When I used my desktop computer the final price had to additional charge 1- local state tax and 2- duty fee tax. It is wired for a us base company( base on what they told me) sending their produce form US to charge duty fee tax. Not having a transplant pricing policy and a none functional app is not a real customer stimulating experience. **Developer response:** We are sorry for your experience. Please note that while italist is a US based company, all products are shipped from our partner boutique in Italy and therefore italist must apply local state tax where applicable and import duties on all orders with a value above USD 800. This is not a decision from italist but the US law. ### 1/5 — Do not buy if you not sure what you buying! Refund fees over 80 *2023-06-04, version 1.0.30* Bought a pair of sunglasses over 260 dolllars and when i try to make e refund my refund price its like 186! ### 1/5 — Feedback you see as I lie *2023-05-18* Most of feedbacks you see here are an obvious lie. I have purchased item for 1.5K. I want to return it and for some reason site charges 200$ for delivery and suggests to contact custom directly to receive back taxes. So instead of 1.5K I’m supposed to get 1.1k as refund.
