I’ve been taking lessons on italki since 2020. I had a complaint about how I feel they treated an amazing teacher of mine unfairly and prevented me from continuing my learning with him. I tried to register this complaint six or seven different ways. ZenDesk form, no confirmation. Support email, no answer. Support bot, claims I am being transferred to a human, human never arrives. Corporate email, nothing. I can’t so much as get an automated reply with a ticket number assigned. I’m beginning to question if any humans still work there. Do yourself a favor and use Preply instead.

This is how you learn. Duolingo is ok, but it’s not until you start speaking with natives on Italki that you really have a chance to learn a new language.

However, the website can be hard to navigate, booking lessons is counterintuitive, and I feel the user experience could be improved significantly. I am glad that I connected with my teacher this way, who is superb, but I wish the user interface was more intuitive and easier to navigate.
