### 3/5 — It’s fun but not much support or many updates

*2025-10-10, version 2.0.11.1*

No updates have been done on such an expensive product. I do however enjoy using this product and wish they would expand on it.

### 3/5 — …

*2025-08-27*

….

### 4/5 — Works fine but need to update

*2023-02-10, version 2.0.9*

Sound used to work. Doesn’t anymore. Shots register fine. Very accurate sensing. Even still, it’s useful for drawing and dry due practice.

### 3/5 — Was great but useless now

*2022-12-23, version 2.0.9*

With volume of my phone being completely up there is no sound and I looked in program for new update but there has not been for over a year… kinda takes away from the fun of using such equipment… when I first purchased it it worked flawlessly but now it has a bug in it in the program that prevents you from utilizing the system making it now obsolete…. I would rate it 5 stars at first but I now rate it a 3.

### 2/5 — Too many problems

*2022-10-23, version 2.0.9*

Laser cartridges didn’t fire; cartridge fired but didn’t score repeatedly. Of three new cartridges, one didn’t work with the batteries from those that did. May be an excellent tool, but it isn’t right now.

### 4/5 — App works great with system, but would like to see more features

*2022-06-10, version 2.0.9*

The app works pretty seamlessly with the iTarget Pro system. Very happy with the ability to dry fire train with a purpose. The 3 different modes are nice, but it would be nice to see the app expand a bit. One suggestion is to allow the ability to set up more than one user for shooting games and competitions. Very nice system as it is, though. Worth the money for the system.

### 2/5 — Just about worthless

*2022-02-21, version 2.0.9*

Problem with this app is that it will endlessly register shots while being set up. In order to delete those shot records, one must remove the phone from the holder. This sets up an endless cycle of placing phone in the holder, the app registering numerous shots, removing the phone from the holder, deleting the record, … iTarget advised me to watch the set up videos on YouTube. I’ve cancelled the anti-free speech fascists at YouTube / Google.
To be fair, I had the app working briefly. When it worked (without non-shots being registered) it worked pretty good.
Adjusting the laser sensitivity did not help.

### 1/5 — Used to be great, until they broke it.

*2021-04-16, version 2.0.2*

1.61 was fantastic. Easy to use, streamlined, every feature that you’d ever actually need.

The 2.0 update broke the basic functionality of the app. It no longer registers the laser unless in near complete darkness, anything brighter in the room gets registered as a hit. Only high sensitivity comes anywhere close to working. Garbage.

### 4/5 — Great tool for practice

*2021-04-10, version 2.0.2*

This will pay for itself the first few times you use it. Easy to setup. Accurate recording of where shots hit. Laser cartridge is actually very durable and well made. That was my concern ‘in a kit’ but I am glad I got the whole package. Its definitely better made than the cartridge I had. Not thru all capabilities yet but impressed so far. Nicely done.
Would give it 5 stars if the phone wasn’t a bit in the way of target without standing off to the side but a minor nit.

### 3/5 — step down

*2021-04-07, version 2.0.2*

previous version was both more accurate, and had an adjustable target area.

### 2/5 — Not thrilled with the latest update

*2021-03-15, version 2.0.1*

I liked this system until the update. It’s harder to navigate the app. I find the app starts shooting by itself now, where it didn’t before. Unfortunately I may have to find something else to use.

### 1/5 — Update ruined this app

*2021-03-15, version 2.0.1*

Hi

I have to be honest, I hate the new update(s). I told so many people about iTarget pro when I first bought it last March. I raved about it-

Whatever you changed in the laser sensitivity and targeting systems is horrible. I used to be able to shoot indoors, with lights on, low light, lights off, daylight- never mattered. It would always register my hits providing I adjusted the sensitivity prior to my session. The ability to adjust it properly seems to be gone completely.

I was always able to tell when the app would register a hit, because when it was in the sensitivity setting mode, and I fired at the target I would get a big white cross centered on the laser dot. That’s completely gone now, and makes the laser sensitivity setting page useless.

I previously was able to use your app, and target overlay on top of many different targets. Full sized silhouette targets instead of the ridiculous small 8 1/2 x 11 size. Again it always worked flawlessly providing I adjusted the sensitivity as needed. The new updates have ruined that aspect of the app, it barely registers hits anymore on the same target I’ve been using with the old app reliably for nearly a year.

Very disappointed in the update. You really should read through some of the recent reviews on the App Store. Most people feel the same way. Major step backwards.

Whether it’s intended or not to be able to use on targets like this, I have always been able too. Practicing drawing from concealed carry, getting on target, and scoring hits on a tiny 8 1/2 x 11 paper is useless. I need to be able to shoot at life size targets from 20 to 30 feet, and hit consistently- this app always had that ability in the past. It’s gone, so it’s become useless to me now.

I hope you can bring back the old functionality of the laser sensitivity settings.

My shooting has improved dramatically using this app over the last 12 months. I really hope you can fix the damage these latest updates caused, I can’t practice with it anymore.

Very disappointed-

The target in the pictures below is a standard sized silhouette target I’ve been using for months. The lighting in my room hasn’t changed, and even with brand new batteries in the laser bullet, the app still fails to register hits.

I just tried using the app for the first time since the update and wasted an hour trying to make it work. It just worked before. Now I have to screw with every setting trying to get it to work and it still barely registers. Time to go back to the drawing board, go back to the way the app was before, and start over with the updates- frankly the updates weren’t needed, you should have left it alone. Now it’s just broken. I can no longer recommend this app to anyone.

### 1/5 — Update

*2021-03-09, version 2.0.1*

The update has ruined the app. The system registers shots every time the camera picks up movement. The program is useless.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — So frustrated

*2024-08-11, version 2.0.11.1*

Super disappointed that the app is no longer working apparently… Cannot get it to register after setting an entire thing up in the yard to practice and the laser bullet will no longer register on the app at all too much money spent on this for it not to work

### 1/5 — Terrible App

*2024-07-21, version 2.0.11.1*

This app has so many flaws. It took forever to get it to recognize the laser. Not intuitive at all. Customer service wasn’t much help.

### 1/5 — App no longer functions

*2024-01-03, version 2.0.11.1*

The app won’t auto pick up the target. You get so many misfires now that it will fail to pick up the laser. Guess I am going to look into MantisX since this company does not care about its customers anymore.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t Work

*2022-08-01, version 2.0.9*

I put the phone in the sled. The iTarget doesn’t seem to recognize the paper target in the sled. It doesn’t center on the paper bullseye, and I can’t move the target on the app to center on the paper target. It just plain doesn’t work. Do not purchase.

### 1/5 — In App Purchases are overpriced!

*2022-07-30, version 2.0.9*

After spending money on an overpriced piece of plastic that isn’t going to last long to hold the phone and target, the laser bullet, and getting the “free” app, you will find out that the other two practice modes cost $5 each as an add on. Very disappointing after the money the system costs.

### 1/5 — Changing companies

*2022-02-27, version 2.0.9*

The app is terrible. I purchased a new shooting format and can’t even use it. Also the laser does not register as a shot so many times it becomes stressful. Worst experience

### 1/5 — Glitchy

*2022-01-01, version 2.0.9*

App no longer recognizes the target in automatic mode, then it will start a phantom session scoring hits not shot! Have reloaded the program will no better results.

### 1/5 — Not as expected

*2021-11-23, version 2.0.9*

Bummer. Was so looking forward to this, but epic failure right from the start. Too many issues to list. Will be returning.

### 1/5 — Yeah I tried everything but the app doesn’t register shots.

*2021-05-02, version 2.0.3*

The app doesn’t work with iPhones, been shooting and seeing the laser hit the target but the app doesn’t start or register the shots weather I enable shoot to start and double tap the screen. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the app and watched the videos. This is a good idea but it seems no one has looked into keeping the app up to date with the latest phones and hardware.

### 1/5 — Bring back old version

*2021-04-27, version 2.0.2*

At least it worked!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — I don't understand the bad reviews

*2024-12-07, version 2.0.11.1*

Setup was easy.

I stood near the target while another person shot and it registered the same results I watched with my eyes.

I had to move the target and mess with lighting a little but it's a light-dependent target aystem so I get that. This is all covered in the troubleshooting and instructions.

I'm only one day in, but I see instant improvement in registering a single red dot in the target vs shooting a sweeping red line when the trigger is pulled.

My shooting partner and I have a demonstrated accuracy at the range and I can't wait to spend another week with this and go to the range together and see how we have improved.

I was skeptical because of the plastic target and "using an app", which is usually underwhelming, but none of my preconceived notions with crappy plastic and crappy apps have materialized. I am a fan. But I'm also a novice shooter so maybe I'm not even able to detect how bad this might be. The range will reveal the truth!

### 5/5 — Great App

*2023-05-12, version 2.0.11.1*

I’ve been using the app for couple of years now. It took couple of tries to get the right calibration/setting but soon as I got it, works perfect. Have tried other apps but for me, this one works the best. Hopefully in the next update I’ll be able to enter notes. 👍🏼😎🤟🏼

### 5/5 — Works better than expected

*2022-04-29, version 2.0.9*

I bought this system to let me practice from home without cost of ammo. Wasn’t sure what I was expecting but this met my expectations and more. Easy to set up. Worked perfectly out of the box. Printed extra targets. I now practice daily along with a monthly trip to the gun range. Highly recommend

### 5/5 — Fun and practical

*2021-11-28, version 2.0.9*

I'm having fun with both my 45 ACP and my AR 15. On a serious note I had a red dot that was way out as it was delivered. Last trip to the range I went through 2 clips and still it was not correct. Set up in my garage with your product and 11 shots later I put the next six in the #10. So its very practical as well.

If you could only give some kick back you might put the ammo folks out of business 😁

### 5/5 — Amazing system

*2021-09-10, version 2.0.9*

A great training tool especially with ammo shortage and pricing
Really fun my wife is even enjoying it as well as myself training with my conceal carry pistol
Thanks for making a good product

### 5/5 — ITarget App.

*2021-07-03, version 2.0.5*

My favorite app by far for draw/shoot practice indoors. Just wish you could shoot one of the triangles to restart the target training session.

### 5/5 — Big Improvements

*2021-05-15, version 2.0.3*

The developers have made some big improvements and feature upgrades over that last few months, making the app much more useful for effective dry fire practice. The Quick Draw and High Score in-app purchases are also great and add even more challenge to practice sessions.

### 5/5 — New version is a blast

*2021-03-03, version 2.0.0*

Wow guys,
The new version is soooo much better.
No more manual adjustment! Everything is settling up by software.
I like delayed score. Stars are better too.
Good job.
Saved tons of money on ammo by dry fire practice. Especially working from home this is a huge bonus. 5 stars.

### 5/5 — Works Great just need to properly set up.

*2020-08-22*

I was actually having the same issues when I first got it a lot post on here.. shots not registering, issues with lighting conditions, ghost shots registering. This is the response I received and if you follow these steps you will have no issues. Main thing being to zoom in on target so the only thing in the picture is the target!

From Developer -

1) Make sure the phone camera is not seeing off of the target plate and is only seeing the target image. Anything in the background could be interfering with the shot detection.

2) Make sure the light on the target plate is an even light. No bright areas and shadows on the target plate at the same time. Make sure the room has normal lighting and is not too dark. Don't use it directly under overhead lights.

3) Make sure there is no reddish light illuminating the target. The app responds to the color red.

4) Press the wrench image to go to settings. This is the main screen for adjusting the sensitivity. If you see any white showing up here, that area is being detected as a hit and your laser won't be. Raise or lower the sensitivity to eliminate any white. Ideally, you want to raise the sensitivity as much as possible without introducing the white noise. Take the laser in your hand and shine it at the target plate.
The laser should show up as a white hit and everything else should be black.

After I adjusted these things, zero issues.

### 5/5 — Great Training App

*2020-07-25, version 1.6.10*

I saw this talk about on an internet site. I looked for reviews and found most very good. I purchased the iTarget Pro and the add on purchase then downloaded the app. After viewing the instruction video and a little practice I got it set-up. I love it!! It has helped my grip to control the gun, my trigger pull and my site picture. Outstanding value and the company was right back to me to answer my question. Thanks for a great and fun product!!
