I shouldn’t have to go into the app for it to connect and update the data. This also applies to the notifications **Developer response:** Hi Mitch, Thanks for the feedback. Because the battery data is read directly over Bluetooth, the app must remain running in the background to receive updates. If the app is closed or swiped away from the app switcher, iOS will stop the Bluetooth connection and the widget and notifications will no longer update. Opening the app again will reconnect to the battery and update the widget. Thanks again for the feedback as we continue improving the app. Unfortnately this is due to iOS background restrictions — widgets cannot maintain a constant Bluetooth connection on their own. ### 3/5 — Why do we suddenly need to login? *2026-03-10* App upgrade looks good but why do we suddenly need to login everytime we open the app? Are we going to be able to login when we are off grid with no phone reception? **Developer response:** The app has an offgrid mode and also in the latest version a guest mode feature so you can bypass the login entrely.. You can test it out by putting your phone into airplane mode and turning off wifi. You will never loose access to the app if you dont have internet. ### 3/5 — Great to have but needs work *2025-06-28* Agree with other comments, needs work. Misleading SOC and caused me to flatten battery because I trusted it and didn’t check voltage. Frustrating that it doesn’t auto reconnect when within Bluetooth range. Look forward to an update and I’ll increase stars. Also needs more features such as time remaining and another page where you can see the history of amps/volts, deepest discharge total ah used, total ah charged etc. Other apps such as Victron have such features and would be great to include them into iTechworld to ensure they become a leader in this space. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Stupid *2026-06-12* Why have two isolator switches on the front page!!! It is too easy to accidentally turn one off when having a quick look while driving. Just got back from 3 days away and have no idea of my battery status in my work ute. The app keeps saying that there is not enough characters in the password. I have tried the ‘forgot my password’ function many times but as of yet have not received an email from itech , even though they can still send me advertising material. We just purchased another two 160Xpro batteries to add to our setup and now cannot set them up or monitor our other batteries without the app working. Rapid response to getting the app working again would be greatly appreciated. **Developer response:** Hi, Sorry for the frustration caused by the initial release. Thanks for your patience while we continue to improve the app. ### 1/5 — Disappointing app data *2025-12-29* How easy would it have been to give some indication when the battery is in Safe Mode - we have had nothing but trouble with our iTech battery (and MPPT), and the app is another disappointment on top of our general iTech experience. Victron gear has the capacity to give history and trends in a graph, which is incredibly useful data. This battery app isn’t particularly helpful when you really need data on Safe Mode status … please, iTech, consider adding that into the app if the BMS is so clever then surely it can tell us when it’s in Safe Mode or not!? ### 1/5 — Update no good *2025-08-28, version 1.9* Updated app 2 days ago, no will not show battery soc 0% Deleted app and reinstalled, still no good. ### 2/5 — Needs more development but handy *2026-07-25* The app is now crashing when attempting to login. It’s now working very well, with good insights and a clean layout. This has since been resolved and the update is a great improvement over the old version.
