Disappointed really they have the monopoly in this industry and can’t get their app to work….! I hope some competition steps up their game and forces improvement and change…. Going to run to the post office for this sample….😔 ### 2/5 — Needs a lot of work *2023-09-06, version 3.7.57* Constantly logs me out, prompts me for Face ID, that ID succeeds, then sends me to the log in screen anyway where I have to manually type the password. It also doesn’t tell me how it wants me to measure a laminate shingle since the only ones shown are 3 tab shingles. ### 1/5 — No notifications *2023-05-24, version 3.7.56* The app is slow, crashes regularly, logs me out regularly, claims to support Face ID but has yet to allow me to even set it up. The most annoying thing is that the app will not notify you when a photo wasn’t accepted. You’ll be waiting for an ITEL report and you go to check on it after 2-3 days and there was an issue with the photo and they never notified you. Can’t believe they paid someone to develop this app! ITEL needs to seriously step up their game! ### 1/5 — Where to start… *2023-03-25, version 3.7.54* - customer service leaves something to be had. They are neither educated on materials nor informed on what they actually do at itel. They’re essentially a go between for the lab techs to pass notes along, and they’re not very good at that, because the people answering phones don’t know the first thing about materials to effectively pass info along. -“lab” technicians creating the itel mobile reports seem like they’ve never seen a building material in their life (especially anything that may show signs of wear), and seem to be pushing their slower, more expensive service (itel sample by mail) by virtue of kicking back itel mobile reports. -as previously described as a “dumpster fire” by other reviews, the app itself crashes constantly. If using an iPhone, you have a 50/50 shot of whether or not it will actually get to the main screen. I have had to delete and reinstall multiple times just to get to the part where I’m wasting 15 minutes to take the required pictures that may ultimately end up useless. Face ID only works if you sign in with username and password every time you use the app, then allow it… every time. With the last interaction I had, this app & company has gone from a “neutral to mildly annoying,” to “avoid at all costs.” As another user stated in their review, it’s an unfortunate necessity. For now. Zero stars. ### 1/5 — App is terrible to use *2023-01-26, version 3.7.52* Please come out with a desktop version not everything it can be done on the phone. This kind of work would be a lot quicker using a laptop. Also why are you not able to select more than one photo at a time to upload? There is no expedited way to use the app and it takes 10-15 of wasted minutes for every report. Constantly on phone with service. The fact my company uses this service baffles me. Consistently terrible reviews and they do nothing to fix it or make it a little better. Well done done itel. I’ve used the app for 5 years now and the last year it has gone downhill quickly. Save your time and just mail the samples in. ### 2/5 — Please change *2022-08-04, version 3.7.47* Look at Hover please and copy how to properly provide an app service. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Independent Adjuster *2025-08-07, version 3.8.6* Fellow IAs, do NOT waste your time much less money on this mobile kit. They will kick back every single sample and make your life miserable. You’ll have to return to sites to perform on site photo tests for the same reason with larger things like cabinets for which you can’t harvest a sample. Avoid the ITEL app at all costs. It is the furthest thing from a time saver. ### 1/5 — ITEL accuracy *2025-07-18, version 3.8.6* The last five years ITEL accuracy has shot down tremendously. Ten to fifteen years ago, I could trust an ITEL report about 85%. Today’s ITEL is maybe 50% at best. I don’t know what’s changed at ITEL but someone needs to take a look at systems that should be in place or further training that may be needed. I’ve been in the flooring industry for 36 years. I installed for over 25, became a certified flooring inspector and flooring sales and repairs specializing in insurance restoration. The inaccuracy is astounding. ### 1/5 — Waste of time and life *2025-05-13, version 3.8.6* The app crashes all the time. Won’t load. Kills timelines. Asks for material information that it should be providing. Gives pricing based on made up numbers from suppliers that do not exist with caveats that state pricing may have to be cross checked. We are obligated to use this to waste more time on something that could just be handled with standard line item pricing. Shouldn’t be mandatory to use with carriers. Should only have to be used when something is in question. All it accomplishes is wasted time and life.. oh it does add needless frustration. ### 1/5 — Not what you’d expect *2025-04-23, version 3.8.6* They’ll find a match there will be multiple colors. It saves us months at a time. Throughout the year that is! I currently work for a major restoration company. (Servpro) Now Imagine sending through the post office …samples of flooring and waiting for results that can take 24 to 48 hours, after every 30 jobs we’ve saved about a month worth of waiting …..180 jobs and you’ve saved yourself about a half of a year of waiting. I know the numbers sound crazy, but men lie women lie numbers don’t. You can get the results back in around 30 minutes. If that’s not a game changer then the game must be over. Comes with clear step by step instructions for each photo along with helpful sample photos and videos for each step. As a person who isn’t tech savvy in the slightest, it’s extremely easy to navigate. ### 5/5 — Love it *2023-01-20, version 3.7.52* We use itel for all of our asphalt color matching. The mobile app works fine. Sometimes an adjuster will have us send in a physical sample and it rarely comes back something different. Since that experience is consistent the App is very good at identifying shingles without a physical sample. ### 4/5 — Itel app *2024-10-02, version 3.8.3* It will not open and there is no phone number for support. In the past the app has worked great, able to process samples of materials quickly. ### 3/5 — Horrible operation and horrible customer service *2021-10-08, version 3.7.35* Since they updated their app several months ago, I have had nothing but problems… I use an iPhone 7 and have been talking to customer support no less than a dozen times. They are unable to resolve my issues, but are happy to log them for me…. The app constantly crashes, freezes, or forgets my log in credentials. It is frustrating to another level…. Enjoy your reviews ITEL. You went from 4 stars to 2 in a very short time….
