Like every else in life, it works until it doesn’t ### 2/5 — Broken *2024-04-26* Been using it for a few months with only a few issues. Today, it just won’t work. Won’t recognize my scanned receipts. Might have to use another app ### 2/5 — Apps seems to be getting worse! *2023-02-12* I’ve had this app for 3+ years and it was a revolution for this type of thing. I scan the app. Put it in either personal or business, and it finds the info. Since I’ve had it it seems like it’s not finding the stores as it did in the past. Then I go into the app and switch its name is hard. If it finds the name only if you spell it 100% the way the are looking for it. Capitals, spaces, and that is a guess because how do you know how they inputted it JL to the itemize data base. 2nd if I switch to business as the expense it has to error put 2-3 times. I usually have to swipe away the APL. Go back in and then try again. But this year we found a ton of these receipts did not show in the report. If I wanted to go back through my receipts I would simply add them to a shoe box, and go back through at the end of the year. I hope the figure this out, because I’m not going another year again if this keeps up. ### 2/5 — Super SLOW at doing what it says it does… *2022-03-05, version 5.1.5* This app performs as indicated but, is annoyingly SLOW! ### 4/5 — Been Looking for An App Like This! *2020-02-08, version 5.0.6* This app is exactly what I need for keeping track of my expenses while traveling in multiple countries using multiple currencies. It keeps expenses separated and in different categories and totals them up for you by category. It puts everything into an awesome report too. ### 4/5 — Itemize is excellent for recording expenses. *2019-12-02, version 5.0.4* This app is easy to use and generally records all information accurately. Automatically selects pre set categories, but additional custom categories can be created. Common chain store merchants are identified and recorded. Custom merchants can be created when the app can’t identify the merchant. The app does have issues with long receipts and some information may need to be added or modified. Possibly a method to separate a long receipt into two photos might help. Individual expenses can be tagged for business purposes. Reports can be created and much of the app information can be reviewed through their website on a computer. ### 3/5 — Practical, but needs refining *2019-03-30, version 4.0.2* I love the easy to use operating system and the fact that (when it works) it categorizes the expense, credit card used and the logo of the vendor auto populated, HOWEVER, the photo of receipt isn’t very clear. I thought perhaps it was my lack of Photograohy skills, but I read another’s review and they have confirmed the photo is in fact unclear. Also, it takes rather long for the system to “process” the information captured from receipt; certainly needs refining. I still love the concept and will continue to use this app as I’m a Real Estate professional so with that said keeping track of faded crinkly receipts is certainly more of a headache than using this app. **Developer response:** Hello! Please feel free to update the review if you believe we've fixed some of the issues you were experiencing in the older versions. ### 3/5 — Needs serious work *2019-01-29, version 4.0.2* For an app that has one job, it’s not very good at it. I get that if a photo isn’t clear or a receipt is wrinkled/faded, that an algorithm can’t make out the details. What I don’t understand is why the app algorithm argues with how I label expenses. I toggle work expense, it saves as verified, but when I double-check, I have to re-toggle and redo the expense category and in some other cases, I have to redo the date and the merchant..AGAIN. ‘Which was infuriating while going through a stack (from a box of) of receipts. I like the filters for exporting and the options for doing so (pdf, excel, + receipt photos) but the filters are useless if they don’t stick. If I get negatively audited due to any of this, I certainly won’t be a paying customer. ### 3/5 — No support *2018-02-15, version 3.9.1* Developer says to email support but they ignore your support email. The app itself works well, but I had issues with emailing receipts. I wrote to Support three times asking for help and never received a reply. Eventually I deleted the app and reinstalled it and my emailed receipts were there. It would’ve been nice if Support had answered any of my three requests for help. Update reply to developer: I replied through the app itself through “support chat.” I was trying to decide between Veryfi and Itemize, but unfortunately no one ever responded to my support requests. I figured the fastest response that I would get would be the response through the app. I do not know what happened to my questions, but they never did get answered. **Developer response:** Hi, did you write to Support@itemizecorp.com? We don't see any record of any missed conversations or support threads that were not replied to. ### 2/5 — Still crashes sick of reloading - give up *2017-03-14* Crashes and need to reload app sometimes..otherwise a great idea and app. Just crashed again ... deleted and reload app again.... until next time .... getting a bit ordinary. **Developer response:** Thank you for bringing the crashing to our attention. Please upgrade your Itemize application. ### 4/5 — A Definite Must for People watching their $$$$! *2016-12-16, version 3.7* This app helps store and organize your receipts. It is intuitive about the category of the receipt as a general rule. Will be definitely helpful in the assessment of your expenses as well as the formulation of a budget. Just a tad annoying when it crashes as you need to sign in again or in a hard crash you have to delete and re-download the app. This situation happens every time there is an iOS update and it's becoming annoying already. Other apps don't have the same issues! And this is the reason I have downgraded the star rating. ### 3/5 — Was great but now??? *2016-10-24* I loved this app for the first three months of using it but haven’t been able to open it up properly for the last month as it crashes before I can use it…….not happy Jan ### 3/5 — Good &Bad *2016-10-23* Not a bad little app for recording and storing receipts. Didn't get to use the reporting function as every time I tried it crashed. But even if it did work properly there is no way this app is worth $8.99 a month - charged yearly in advance! I have tried through the website, calling, and putting in a ticket. My ticket is currently 4 months old with no response. I even contacted their customer service by email and they simply never got back to me about it before the charge happened. Awful customer service total scam I want my money back ### 1/5 — Bait & Switch *2017-06-16, version 3.7.36* I downloaded this app several months ago. At the time, the website said users could have free, but limited, access to the app which worked fine for my needs. Now today I got a notice that my "trial" ended (I had a full access trial that ended months ago) and now I can't access anything on my account without paying. Essentially it's ransomware at this point. I tried messaging the company but no one was available and despite saying to leave a message, their website doesn't allow you to leave a message. Even if you plan to pay (in my opinion way too much monthly!) for the membership, beware that they have lousy communications and may change the terms on you without any warning. **Developer response:** Hello and thank you for the feedback! Itemize has that it is a 14 day free trial posted in the iTunes description and on our website. We apologize that you did not see the posting. At this time, we only offer a 14 day trial and then the user has the option to upgrade or not. There is no permanently free version offered. Difficult to use and not good at recognizing merchants. Had 8 receipts entered then app crashed. Lost half of what I had entered. In the bin it goes. ### 1/5 — Used to love this app *2016-10-16* All other versions have been very good and compare very nicely with the others on the market. The software seem to be in very early alpha version. Do not spend $109 for becoming an alpha tester of the software. Many features simply don't work at all or really buggy, most noted issues: - invoice date is not recognised (snapshot quality is perfect, prominent text) - many invoice snaps are cut in half (incomplete snapshot) - support is useless. Typical responses are -- we do our best to make it work (and ticket is closed immediately) -- won't fix, works as expected (and ticket is closed immediately) ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Great way to track my expenses *2017-09-23, version 3.8.0* The app is easy, fast and accurate. It is a great way to track my expenses. Snap a picture and the copy of the receipt along with the total, tax, etc is right there in the app in a few seconds. I love the new Receipt Details feature. Even though it is in Beta, it is pretty good at capturing the details in most cases. I can add/change any of the details too. This app stays on the main screen for me. ### 5/5 — Great app *2017-03-08* Love that it's FREE ### 5/5 — Life Saver *2017-01-11, version 3.7* Itemize saves me SOOO MUCH time and hassle. This app has saved me from spending hours doing bank statement reconciliations. Expense reports. Tax time. Both business and personal is easy to track with TAGS. Exporting to excell with the images - automatic categorization is a life saver. I've had to contact customer service in the past for some glitches and they were responsive, timely, understanding, and stayed in constant communication with me. I was very impressed and continue to stay loyal to them because of their attention to detail and commitment to customer service. Get the APP. You'll love it. Then, you'll buy the upgraded because it's awesome. The end. ### 5/5 — So simple *2016-11-30, version 3.7* I have reviewed all new versions of the app since paying for the Pro service. This app just keeps getting better. I love the new love chat feature and instantly get an answer from a customer support agent. The Pro service allows me to manage all of my expenses with a simple picture of a receipt and put into my QuickBooks account. Itemize is a no brainer!!! ### 5/5 — Absolutely Fantastic app *2016-10-08, version 3.5.1* After a few weeks of trying to keep up with entering my receipts into an online spreadsheet (or even just store pictures of receipts) I started seriously looking for a simple app that would read and log the text on the receipts for me. Itemize makes it easy- just a moment whenever I'm in line or at the end of the day and its all in there! Customer service was really good, kept my faith when I couldn't find my data - it's all there now!! Phew! Touch ID would be nice- and a slightly lower price would likely get them way more customers! (Like $2.99 (price less than a latte to sell more!) ### 5/5 — Amazing app especially during Tax Season *2016-03-23, version 3.3.1* This is the application that I have been looking for! I cannot throw out my receipts that have been stocking up in my wallet! Slightly pricey monthly fee, don't get me wrong $4.99 is not bad but adds up, I would totally subscribe for $2.99. But if you have it, like I said this app is a great app. Just take a snapshot of your receipt and all your information is there ### 5/5 — Jason *2016-02-05, version 3.2.1* Hi, I'm just starting learn this app. People, these days, don't listen! They think they are, but their not. They can be rude, condescending and impatient, not knowing why the person on the other end of the phone, is having problem with understanding, I've been really sick. I find I have to explain my sickness and that's okay. The type of sickness I have affects, the way I decipher things. Jason, your customer representative at itemize, has been kind enough to take the time to explain a few things. Jason's has been very patient with me. He listens and takes the time to explain back to me in great detail, exactly the questions, I just asked. He has a gift, to simplify and was great with me. So thanks, Jason for your help, Jason.
