Tech support did not reply in three weeks, nor to my follow up email. I provided full details, how I repeated the error and screenshots; twice, 3 weeks apart. No response apart from the auto-acknowledgment email. This is just poor. ### 2/5 — Does not support secure SSH keys! *2024-07-06, version 9.0* It’s 2024… RSA SHA-1 keys are deemed relatively insecure and are not accepted by default in modern OpenSSH installations such as are found on Linux and MacOS. But iTerminal does not support anything except RSA SHA-1… yet the (completely free) app Termius does, as do other paid apps like Prompt 3, Shelly, etc. I have emailed the developers to ask if they can provide support for RSA SHA2 and ED25519, but honestly… Termius is a nicer-looking app anyway, so I will likely just stick with that. ### 3/5 — Soporte IPv6 *2024-06-24, version 9.0* Falta que soporte conexiones a IPv6 ### 2/5 — Not working with valid key *2024-06-01, version 9.0* Handy tools but not sure since when the application not working anymore. Key loading via iCloud -> have to save a key to know where iTerminal expects them. ### 3/5 — Good terminal, but… *2022-03-31, version 8.80* I use oh-my-zsh on my linux instances, normal ssh will pass through all the awesomeness of zsh as well as the font and theme. Using this terminal, my zsh font is forcibly overwritten by the app’s font, and the theme is broken, making everything that makes zsh handy at a glance completely useless. There is other terminal apps that don’t override themes, and my preferences in zsh carry through perfectly. Other than rendering the features of my normal shell obsolete, this terminal works great, so long as appearance means nothing. Allowing users to set their terminal appearance is fine, so long as the customization is more than 5 colors for font and background ### 3/5 — Copy&Paste fehlt mir *2021-04-15* Mir fehlt die Funktion Kopierte Texte aus dem Zwichenspeicher einzufügen. In some cases, depending on how recent your server is you may not be able to connect. Connection attempts to servers using OpenSSH 7 or better will produce the following error: Unable to negotiate with legacy host: no matching key exchange method found. Their offer: diffie-hellman-group1-sha1 Please update to your app disallow the use of the following protocol: KexAlgorithms: the key exchange methods that are used to generate per-connection keys ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Poor SSH Implementation, Weird UI behaviour *2024-05-07, version 9.0* This app looks good on first glance but it’s shortcomings become annoying in a hurry. The app seems very limited in it’s key exchange abilities. I deal with hundreds of different servers in my work and would love this app if it worked seamlessly with all of them. Lots oF key exchange errors for no apparent reason. Poor support for the later versions of ssh (7). The UI has some quirks that puzzle me. As a professional programmer since 1978, I have seen many products like this over the decades that fail because of one or two quirks that you just can’t work around. The first and most obvious quirk is that there is no way to have the whole screen for terminal window with the keyboard enabled. The app puts an annoying button bar across the bottom of the screen whenever the keyboard is enabled. This “feature” take up 3 text lines at the bottom which means that your command prompt is hidden behind the button bar and therefore invisible (a unix showstopper). Further, the terminal seems to have some screen formatting issues. As an example: executing a simple ‘’top” command to Debian 12 displays a fractured and segmented output that makes the screen very difficult to read. Other UNIX utilities display incorrectly as well but some display correctly. If if this is the developers idea of a well implemented terminal client then they should go back and study product testing before they release this “computer club” attempt to produce a real product. Very disappointed overall. Would not recommend this app to anyone whoo has to use it to get real work done. Sorry ### 1/5 — Terrible app *2023-06-21, version 8.91* Getting a rsa public key into this app is impossible ### 1/5 — Linux User Beware *2022-11-21, version 8.90* This app will not generate key pairs nor will it accept open-ssh private keys. For my purposes it was a waste of money. I can not login to my server using a key. ### 1/5 — Does not work with MacOS ssh keys *2021-12-20, version 8.75* I don’t know if this app works or not. I have tried ssh-Leyden keys that obviously do not work, converted .pub->pem keys that do not work, and I even tried a key gen’d on Debian and it doesn’t work either. I’m sick of trying to use keys with this app and I want my money back! However, it doesn’t do any X11. If I get a refund, I would be happy to increase my review to 5 stars because it is a decent SSH terminal client. The next, possibly only real X11 client in the list, is X11 Mocha which has a terrible rating and costs $30, so I guess thee really is no X11 client for iOS. Odd considering MacOS X is based on UNIX, but I suppose that’s Apple for you. No fancy frills, just works. ### 5/5 — cloudflared tunnel *2025-06-13, version 9.50* Is it possible to support Cloudflare Tunnel? ### 5/5 — 兼容性 *2025-05-07* 该软件在ipadmini7使用，只能横屏使用，无法竖屏使用，希望开发者能尽快解决 ### 5/5 — Termアプリを複数使ってきての感想です *2024-10-30* iPhone13proMax,iPad11pro iOS18環境です。 使いやすいinterfaceです。十年くらい前からあるので老舗と言えるのではないでしょうか。昔は[ESC]キーとか[Tab]とか付いてないTermアプリも多かったのですが、今はどのアプリもみんな標準装備ですね。嬉しい。 このアプリは無料版があるのでそっちを試してからにするといいです。sshを頻繁に使う人なら何も考えずに有料版でいいと思いますが。 私はたまたまiNetToolsも使っていたのでパッケージ版にしました。３つ分なのでかなりお得。whoisやDNSもたまに引きたい人にはお勧めできます。 ただ、言語の対応が英語と中国語、とあるのは少し引っ掛かりました。たぶんTermを使う人ってサーバー運用してるからセキュリティも気になるところだと思います。Apple審査を信用してないわけじゃないですけども、通信系のアプリではやろうと思えば内部では幾らでも可能ですから。まあ、それ言いだしたらどのアプリも使えなくなるので妥協は必要でしょう。 この会社（comcsoft）の本社はアメリカテキサス、支店が中国南京とあります。オーナーと役員がアメリカ人、社長は中国人なのでそのままの構図ですね。そのうちsnifferして変な動きしてたらAppleに報告するので皆さんは安心して使ってください。 ### 5/5 — Super Terminal *2023-03-20* Ich nutze iTerminal Pro für den Zugriff auf sämtliche Geräte im Heimnetzwerk. Allows use of keys for logging in, works well with my Logitech Slim Combo keyboard on my ipad pro from 2016. It is nice to be able to have a reliable ssh client that I can carry around with me for when I need to fix somethiing. Had a problem show up recently (12/2021) where the Apple iOS change clobbered the arrow keys, messaged tech support and they got right on it. Note that the copy function is kludgy when copying large blocks of test, but I don’t need to do that often.
