This app gives good explanations of the sights at Pompeii and has a good map of all the sights and highlights. What sucks though is that every time you move away to another app (say Google maps for directions) the app defaults to the home screen, which means you have to find your specific guide again, go to it’s start screen, then open the map and navigate to the sight that you want an explanation of. If you are offline, you can add 20 seconds to that process while the app tries to open all possible guides it offers and can’t do it. You can download the Pompeii guide for offline use and you can access it offline, but every time you go through this startup process again. VERY frustrating and so I cannot recommend this app. ### 2/5 — App appears to be unfinished *2026-03-18* Only occasional features inside the Herculaneum have information in this app. While all the Roman buildings have numbers on them that presumably work with a rented audio guide gadget, this app doesn’t connect with these numbers. The descriptions against map features are all upside down. When Chinese Simplified language is selected, the Chinese text is garbled with strange nonexistent characters in between words. ### 1/5 — Outdated *2023-07-13* This app obviously doesn’t work alongside Herculaneum. Content is outdated including stuff that isn’t open and not including the majority of numbers around the walk which was disappointing that I paid 4 euro at the advice of the info centre outside the station. Also their contact form doesn’t work so good luck for me getting a refund. **Developer response:** Dear Customer , we are so sorry to read this. We have a whatsapp contact available h24 , why you have not contacted us? The number of the points of interest are updated , so we cannot understand the compliant. Before to buy you can use the app with the free demo so you can be completely aware of the functionalities. ### 1/5 — Hardly usable garbage *2023-05-18* Better take a guide locally or use audio guide provided in place. No, that was not trial or free version. **Developer response:** Dear customer, we are sorry for the offensive tone of your comment. Perhaps you have used the free demo which does not allow you to take advantage of the audio descriptions and for this reason you have considered the app of little use. customers who buy our audio guides are always happy with the product. ### 1/5 — Won’t work. Crashes. Disappointing. *2022-03-19* It won’t download the purchased guides ahead of time. So many bugs. At Ercolano they have weak WiFi on site but it also didn’t work well and crashed. Too bad. Should have informed us we could have done it before we went, or while we were standing in the so called Fast Track that took twenty minutes. Disappointed. Poor use of technology ### 1/5 — Download the recordings the same day that you go *2026-05-19* Thought I was smart to download all of the recordings the night before we went to Pompeii, but they don’t seem to work after some period of time has elapsed. It would no longer recognize what I had already downloaded. And then, of course, it wasn’t possible to download 84mb in the middle of the archeology site. So it ended up being a major fail. I don’t know why you don’t get the entire download forever when you purchase each individual guide. ### 1/5 — Useless app *2025-10-18* Absolutely useless app. The only good thing about it is good audio however you can’t listen to your audio guide without internet connection even if all files have been pre-downloaded previously. It geo locates so you can figure out what you are looking at and how to get to what you want to see. The information shared adds to your experience. We ended up using it at the archeological museo nazionale in Naples over their audio guide the museum provided. Same with Pompeii. Also used it for the walk through Naples and it truly delivered. We saw more with this guide than we would have otherwise. ### 5/5 — Beautiful place ! *2024-09-11* It was our 1st time visiting Naples but thanks to these perfect staffs, we really enjoyed visiting this place. Grazieee ! ### 5/5 — Great audio guide with google maps synchronization *2023-12-28* This app was just what I needed for a leisurely walk through Herculaneum. Photos help you make sure you’re in the right place, the audio guide is clear and succinct, or you can use the transcript. My favorite feature was the ability to see the available locations on a map (or in google maps) with my location so I could easily navigate to each place. The only improvement for future versions would be to add tracks more locations but I saw only a few places IRL that didn’t have audio tracks in the app. There were some negative reviews so I felt I was taking a chance, but I’m glad I did. At the ticket office they don't give you a map and you get lost easily. Initially app kept crashing trying to open guide but eventually, after re downloading, it worked. Really good and informative with live map showing where you are. Contacted customer help who were really good. They replied but I didn’t have WiFi so only picked up once home. They would have refunded and had tried to call but I missed it.
