### 2/5 — Obsolete app

*2024-05-28*

Any app that hasn’t been improved /upgraded in over 3 years is one that should be avoided. Is there even a roadmap for a new product? The original idea and implementation was sound. Shame.

### 3/5 — Great when it works

*2024-02-07, version 4.00*

Have experienced issues taking successful readings - using finger scanner on an iPhone. Issues often after apple software upgrades meaning a full 60 second measurement period cannot be completed. Seems to be working again end of Feb 24. I stopped using it from Dec 23 until Feb 24 due to the issues. It was the auto payment renewal that prompted me to try again recently.

### 3/5 — No support for Corsense Finger Sensor

*2021-01-31, version 4.00*

Nice app but unfortunately this is not compatible with Corsense Bluetooth Finger Sensor.
It will see the sensor and begin recording, but just over halfway it says “signal lost” and this happens every single time I’ve tried it.

If you’re the developer of this app, please consider adding the Corsense finger sensor BLE. Thanks.

### 2/5 — Not sure

*2020-09-14, version 4.00*

I use three hrv apps including this one. Ocompared to the other two, this one is the least useful. It is a number without context. Ok, it is possible to compare it to previous days but it is essentially just a number and that is it.
Waste of time really.

### 1/5 — Do not waste your time / inaccurate

*2020-08-09, version 4.00*

I previously purchased the HRV finger measuring device and had access to the app, which was free to download and use with the product I PURCHASED. Now I have to pay in order to use it? That’s some gangster **** to do, old school bait and switch method. I would have never bought this in accurate device in the first place if I had known I would get jacked for more money later. The app is garbage anyway, you get differing readings even when some back-to-back. Find a better app and company bc ithlete is a fraud.

### 1/5 — App Went Subscription

*2020-08-04, version 4.00*

I bought on ithlete HRV meter when this app was free to use. But the company just did a bait and switch and went subscription only. What a con game!

### 1/5 — Bluetooth Error

*2020-08-03, version 4.00*

Was using with no issues. Nothing changed on my side. Starting getting “Bluetooth” turned off when Bluetooth was on and other HRV apps working perfectly.

### 1/5 — No order confirmation, no response on my first inquiry email.

*2020-03-30, version 3.92*

I do not have any ithlete sensors. I ordered an HRV finger sensor close to two weeks prior to writing this. I did not receive an order confirmation email, so I submitted an order inquiry message through the company’s website a a few days ago. I have not received a response for that yet. As of now HRV Fit Ltd. has taken my money with nothing to show for it.

### 3/5 — Sensors do not work

*2020-03-28, version 3.92*

Bought both finger and chest sensors, neither works well enough. Takes 20 minutes to detect a pulse then kicks off halfway through a reading.

### 2/5 — Trouble detecting pulse

*2020-02-12, version 3.92*

Every time I use this, I need to make multiple attempts to get the app to accurately track my pulse for 55 seconds. It always stops me at least once and makes me start over due to lost connection between my HR monitor and the app. It’s really frustrating, because it’s a great concept, but it is difficult to do every day because it turns into a whole process with several attempts each time I do it.

### 1/5 — Pretty basic for a paid app

*2020-02-01, version 3.92*

Plenty of free apps that do the same thing as this one. If you want detailed analysis of HRV iThlete wants even more money to sign up for the ithlete pro program. Double dipping for something that you can get for far less money than the competition.

### 1/5 — Great while it worked

*2019-07-07, version 3.92*

This was great while it was working - then for no obvious reason the finger sensor stopped responding. Emailed the company 3 times without response - AVOID THIS FAULTY PRODUCT & THE NON-EXISTENT CUSTOMER SERVICE

### 1/5 — Won’t stay connected to sensor

*2019-07-01, version 3.92*

I’ve been using a couple different apps over the last 2 months to measure HRV. As a coach I wanted to try this one out as well. After about 10 tries to take a measurement I gave up. Each time I got an error message saying the measurement stopped early, check the sensor. Have had zero problems with the other apps.

### 1/5 — Don’t buy

*2019-04-22, version 3.92*

Works well until the very expensive finger sensor stops working.
Mine did after just 7 months. Absolutely no response from them after emailing them. No help. Don’t do it, useless!!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Dead App should be removed

*2024-01-15, version 4.00*

3yrs ago last update. Why bother spending my $ on a company not making adjustments and improvements.

### 1/5 — CAUTION: Does Not Work

*2023-08-31, version 4.00*

Most of the positive reviews are from 4/5 years ago, however the most recent review earlier this year complained the app did not work. I also could not get the app working using a finger sensor or heart rate monitor and I tried the app with an iPad and an iPhone. I’ve sent a support ticket to iThlete and I’ll update this review once I’ve had a response.

### 1/5 — Temperamental device

*2023-04-12, version 4.00*

The device rarely works first time and I can waste 10 mins getting it to take a reading. This means I don’t trust the readings. There’s no guidance on what the app questions mean. It asks if you have a good diet? How is that defined? It also doesn’t show you comparators for age and gender so you can’t see how far in or out of normal range you are. And it wasn’t clear that as well as buying the device you’d need to buy the app.

### 1/5 — No Apple Watch support

*2022-12-09, version 4.00*

Bought the app not realizing like so many others this does not use the HRV from the watch and Apple health app. No way to get money back. Read first before buying to see if your device is supported!

### 1/5 — DO NOT PURCHASE

*2022-01-02, version 4.00*

Waste of time and money. The app is very glitchy, freezing on multiple occasions just trying to login/sync. Will not take a reading with 2 different Bluetooth HR straps. I want a refund.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2021-03-07, version 4.00*

When I try and connect my Garmin HR strap it finds it, when I select it, it just throws me out of the app.. I paid so will need a refund it it can’t be rectified.

### 1/5 — Been using since 2014

*2020-09-14, version 4.00*

The latest update locked me out. I paid $9.99 to purchase this in 2014. I can no longer access any of my historical data nor can I generate any new data

Customer service has been unhelpful

Those seeking an app for HRV should check out Something else

### 1/5 — Heart rate training

*2020-09-03, version 4.00*

Bought app years ago, worked ok. Now they want you to pay additional money to continue to use. Don’t buy it. Very shady.

### 1/5 — I paid for this app years ago

*2020-08-13, version 4.00*

I don’t understand why they broke the app. I paid $9 for it years ago and now they won’t let me use it unless I pay for it again. Scummy

### 1/5 — Can’t use sensor w/o purchasing app

*2020-08-11, version 4.00*

When I buy an expensive measurement product, I expect to be able to use it without any additional charges. Very disappointing that to achieve functionality, more money must be spent. Had I known this, I would not have purchased from this company.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2024-06-21, version 4.00*

Simple and effective way to test and track your HRV in 60 secs

### 5/5 — Recovered overtrainer

*2023-04-17, version 4.00*

I have a history of overtraining. Ithlete pro has given me an objective measure that acts like a coach to guide me for the day should I go hard or not.

### 5/5 — Useful tool

*2020-12-23, version 4.00*

All of that, but can on occasion be maddening to get a hr to register...

### 5/5 — Ithlete Review

*2020-09-26, version 4.00*

Like the app! A couple suggestions. On the testing directions, it didn’t specify taking test sitting or standing so I initially was supine in bed. Went to the website and found info. Secondly, I get several greens (ok to train hard) the day after a hard run. HR > 90% Max for 6 to 7 miles, not sure why? Still in the learning curve?

### 5/5 — Ithlete

*2020-01-29, version 3.92*

I have been using Ithlete every morning for several years now. I like having a dependable measure of my recovery status. The readings always seem to tally with how I am feeling. Strongly recommended for really active folk.

### 5/5 — Basic version clear to use

*2019-03-24, version 3.92*

Have been using for about two weeks; find the sensor to be fussy if in direct sunlight. The app works as an excellent “gut check” and has helped me not to push my luck with consecutive hard training sessions.

### 5/5 — Paul Mac

*2018-12-29, version 3.92*

Great device very accurate and enables structured training

### 5/5 — The best HRV app

*2017-06-14, version 3.91*

I have used this as well as 2 other HRV apps and this is by far the most useful one out there. The diary and other user entered daily metrics are VERY useful in letting you know why your HRV is going up or down. The other apps don't do this.

### 5/5 — Works well

*2017-05-29, version 3.91*

Love the comment section. I use this side by side to Ben Greenfields for comparison and he doesn't allow comments

### 5/5 — Good stuff!

*2017-04-14, version 3.90*
