iThumb - Thumb Education

Designed for iPhone and iPad. The iThumb app is a digital app that aims to support you along your surgical journey. The app includes educational content to better understand your thumb arthritis and how this can be treated with the InDx implant. iThumb has been developed by a team of healthcare professionals including hand therapists and clinicians. The exercise program incorporated based on evidence -based research for thumb-based arthritis. Hand and finger exercises are incorporated to promote movement and activation of your thumb prior to surgery. These exercises are designed to help condition your hand for surgery and support your recovery by reducing pain and improving hand strength. The app gives you access to basic instructions to help you best prepare before going to the hospital. The app also includes information about the surgical procedure and guidelines on what to expect after surgery.
