## What is iTmux?

itmux is a fast, modern SSH terminal built around tmux. Connect to your servers, attach to real tmux sessions that keep running when you disconnect, and pick up exactly where you left off — from iPhone, iPad, or Mac.

Unlike a plain SSH client, itmux speaks tmux natively. It uses tmux control mode to show your sessions, windows, and panes as first-class UI, so switching context is a tap instead of a memorized shortcut.

itmux is a universal app. The iPad layout gives you a proper sidebar and large terminal; the Mac app adds tear-off tabs and native window management. Your connections and SSH key live on-device, in the Keychain.

No account required. Your hosts, passwords, and keys stay on your device and are used only to make your own connections — never sent to us. The contents of your sessions, files, and notes are never transmitted to our servers. See the privacy policy for details.

• A redesigned connection manager and settings make hosts easier to add, test, organize, and manage.
• SSH host keys are now remembered and checked, with a clear warning if a server’s identity changes.

Command shortcuts
  • Save the commands you run all the time and fire them with one tap — from the
    key bar on iPhone and iPad, or the ⌘ popover in the tab bar on Mac.
  • Scope each shortcut to a single server or share it across all of them.

  Run in the background
  • Mark a shortcut "in the background" and it runs detached on the host instead
    of taking over the pane you're working in.
  • Backgrounded jobs keep going when you leave the app, close the pane, or even
    disconnect — you get a notification with the result when they finish.

  Connections
  • Pick an SSH private key with a file picker; it keeps working across launches.
  • Choose a default connection for new tabs.
  • Clearer connect and failure messages, plus a confirmation before deleting.
