With two distinct 88s in the wings. I’m not usually one to see that kinda stuff everywhere, yall, but come on. Be about half stupid to not see what that is. Edit: I looked this up before I made this comment, but apparently did not do so well enough. Sincere apologies to the devs for my underserved and unfounded accusations. I’m leaving my review up only so maybe someone can learn from my jumping to conclusions. ### 3/5 — It’s literally just a lot of things, as well as mowing. *2026-06-14, version 2.2.8* The mowing is fun for some time wasting. However it very much is not just mowing, you also collect cats/dogs/birds/etc. Also for some reason you have a house? It very much is not “literally just mowing”. Also the sizes of the areas to mow don’t get any bigger or more complicated, so it does end up being rather boring unfortunately. Today I downloaded on my iPhone only to find out that the game doesn’t carry over and you have to start from the beginning. One of the things I’ve noticed is that games in Arcade don’t get much in the way of development, this game needs some. The gardens you mow are all pretty much the same size and rectangular shaped with a few obstacles that are very easy to avoid as your mower will either stop at the obstacle or bump its way around. The objective is to collect gems so you can open earned crates early and buy some cosmetic upgrades and that’s really all it boils down to. It needs an injection of larger gardens, crates and gems need to be harder to come by so it at least gives the appearance of being a challenge. It’s cute and relaxing. He plays a little more than me but not by much. And he gets ALL THE COOL STUFF. He gets epic chests regularly, and the ones he buys are always cool stuff. He has almost one of everything, and SO MANY pumpkins (my fave!) and all the best items. Meanwhile… I’ve never seen a pumpkin. I have 6 spiral trees and way too many picnic tables and two giant fountains. Stuff I literally can’t use more than one of. The house part of the game is so dull and I don’t engage with it because of this. He’s got 3 cats!! I don’t even have one. Somehow he also got a ton of older Halloween bodies by the truck that sells stuff, but I only ever see boring Xmas stuff or uninteresting accessories. I saw cool stuff when I didn’t have enough currency but once I had enough, the cool offers stopped. While I was writing this, he just got another cat and a pair of pumpkins. Unbelievable. I trusted Apple to provide a service (I pay good money for) that I could allow my 7yo to play that would be largely free from the psychologically manipulative monetization systems of “free to play” games. ### 1/5 — Home Yard Not Good *2025-08-23, version 2.0.3* The new “home yard” feature is not good. Who wants to do the same yard first every day? Also, it throws off the number of yards you can mow with a mow bot assistant before being able to buy a new one; you wind up having to mow some yards with no mow bot assistant, which is kinda lame. ### 1/5 — The devs have ruined this game. *2025-08-14, version 2.0.3* Why do tech bros gotta tech, bro? The most recent update has taken what was a relaxing if fairly mindless game and ruined what was fun about it. It’s literally no longer just mowing, now they’ve added a pointless real estate and landscaping element to it which completely destroys the basic concept of the game. Also, they removed the ability to purchase mowing upgrades Ike the turbo and mowing bot. Finally, the upgrade is buggy. Having forced me to buy a house (whether I wanted to or not), the game froze when I attempted to plant a tree. I won’t bother to restart.
