TurboTax is the most expensive tax prep software. The main reason I used it was for the additional free perks like this app. You take away the free perks, suddenly the cost isn’t as palatable. I will be exploring other tax prep solutions. 3 years ago: I’m so glad they kept this app. It’s what keeps me coming back to Turbo tax year after year. I am giving this app one star because once again, they have decided to discontinue the app. I said it before and I said it again. This is absolutely ridiculous. I very much came to rely on this app in terms of keeping track of tax-deductible donations throughout the year. It made it so easy to just note the donation as it occurred, and then export it into my TurboTax forms when I was doing my actual taxes. It makes absolutely no sense to completely get rid of this app and not even allow users to finish out the tax year as the email I just got says it will be discontinued in later October 2025. The least they could’ve done is let users finish the 2025 tax year. That would’ve been a better solution. I am very disappointed because overall it was a five star app. Now I will have to do everything from scratch at tax time. I hope Intuit/Turbo Tax will again change its mind, because they did before when they tried to pull this a few years ago. Bit for now, I am again very disappointed. ### 1/5 — Can’t upload data to TurboTax *2025-04-15, version 4.3.13* The whole purpose of using ItsDeductible to enter all my donation data was that it could be easily uploaded to TurboTax. The interface between TurboTax app and the ItsDeductible app does not allow for uploading the data from one app to another. After spending valuable time inputting all the data in ItsDeductible, I will have to input all the same data into TurboTax. It’s so easy and convenient to use for all my donations. Instead of multiple spreadsheets and paper copies, I enter all my donations directly into the app and it calculates the value of each deduction for me. I would be willing to pay a nominal fee to be able to continue to use this app in the future. I have not found any other app that is comparable. In addition, it will import the donation values into TurboTax, which is so convenient. It provides you with an estimated value of each item and enables you to have a very clear inventory for your tax records. While ItsDeductible is a great app, and personally, I find it indispensable, it’s time to move on from the the game of, “We’re going to discontinue, not going to discontinue, going to discontinue, etc.” Never would I have ever thought of moving from using TurboTax, which I have used almost 20 years, but I’ve heard great reviews of H&R Block’s Tax software.
