They keep you updated at every step along the way and let you know each time the progress advances. They deal with the State Department thousands of times a year, and I only deal with the State Department once every ten years, so it only makes sense to use It’s Easy as my trusted advisor and processor. ### 5/5 — Life saver *2024-09-24, version 3.8* I was irresponsible and procrastinated getting my passport renewed. I was literally sick to my stomach because the window for the standard process would have come down to the wire without paying hundreds of extra dollars for expediting just a couple of weeks faster. My friend told me about this company and it sounded too good to be true. I had very little options and tried it out. The fees are more than responsible and I even paid for the small fee to expedite it even more. I kid you not my new passport came back in 3 weeks and the process was insanely easy. I found the app a bit confusing and antiquated which would benefit from a design refresh - but I was still able to accomplish my task. Overall, if you don’t want the hassle of printing out a photo and you don’t have personal checks to submit with a paper renewal application then this is the app for you. The app made it very easy and convenient to renew my wife’s and my passports. It was well worth the fee I paid to renew. Unfortunately, I found out they can’t do it for my kids because their old passports were issued while they were younger than 16 years, so I have to do it the usual way. I already received our passports but I haven’t applied for my kids passports yet. I used ItsEasy and it truly was so easy!!! So user friendly and the team behind the scenes were so communicative when changes were needed, AND my new passport was turned around in 2 weeks! My favorite part was that I could take my photo online and they attached it to my application so I didn’t have to run around looking for a place to take my photo. Also, they sent me a label with postage that I could print and affix to an envelope and send in my old passport and my payment sparing me a trip to the post office. They kept me updated throughout my application process, and I had my new passport in hand within about five weeks. They always come through. I recently (April 2024) renewed our passports with them but the State Department had a system issue. it’s easy navigated through that and we received our passports on time. Far from it!! *2022-01-28, version 3.4.2* First, the customer service rep gave me the wrong information. I had called because I lost my passport card. She said “that’s no problem, just check the box that says you want to renew your passport only, not the passport card.” Several weeks later, when I was expecting to get my passport, I instead got a letter saying that my passport could not be renewed without the passport card. My trip was a week away. I called customer service and they had no solution. They said to go to the passport agency. I did go to the passport agency and had to start the entire process over and it was too late by that time to get a new passport. I missed a one in a lifetime 30 year college reunion trip with 10 friends and was out $1250 for the hotel. I asked It’s Easy for a refund for the $53 fee and the customer service rep said she had to talk to management and she would call be back the next day. Waited 2 weeks and no response! I called again. The customer service rep said the same thing! She could not authorize a refund without talking to management! She said she would call me back the next day. Im still waiting over a week later! So crazy! This company has no idea what they are doing and is given incorrect advice which resulted in me missing a trip and losing money. They won’t even give me a $53 refund!!! I can’t even waste my time calling them again to get the run around that they can’t authorize a refund. It was easy to use, although taking a selfie resulted in a pretty poor picture that was accepted anyway. Got my passport in about six weeks if I remember right. My wife used the State Department website for hers a couple of weeks ago. Just as easy to use and we had the new one in two weeks. ### 4/5 — Be Sure to Have Proper Conditions for an Adequate Photo *2017-09-09* The only service I used was to get photos. If this is all you need, you may be better off going to a local pharmacy, where you can get instant and dependable results for around $12. But if you want to save a few bucks, before you buy the app, you should be ready to (1) shoot outside, out of direct sunlight (obviously), and (2) have a Plain. Flat. White. Background at the ready--exactly that, no exceptions. (3) Take a Very Careful Look at your results. Compare them to the example photo provided. You do not want to have to do this twice. Otherwise, why didn't you go to the pharmacy in the first place? I never completed the process because I grew frustrated, but I'm still giving their app 4 stars because, arguably, the challenges I faced were of my own making. I wasn’t in a rush for expedited processing, but I really appreciated how easy the whole process was and how the app kept me updated at every step. The regular status notifications gave me peace of mind, especially after I dropped my documents in the mail, I was a little anxious at first, but seeing the tracking updates through USPS quickly put me at ease. The app itself is very user-friendly and even lets you take your passport photo right from your phone! I liked that they validate the photo before processing, so I felt confident it would be accepted by the government. Just a heads-up: make sure you have a solid white background and good lighting for the photo. Overall, this was a super convenient and stress-free way to renew my passport. And I had to stop the process in the beginning right when I started for a week because I was sick before starting up again or I would have received my renewed passport even sooner. Right before our Christmas trip we realized our daughter's passport had expired. After a few phone calls, it appeared that there would be no way to get a new passport until January. But a friend put us in touch with David at ItsEasy. He is a miracle worker and in a few days he was able to help us get a replacement passport and saved our trip! Truly incredible. I would recommend David and ItsEasy to anyone. It was incredibly easy (we are not tech savvy) and quick. One passport arrived within two weeks-over the holidays! Unfortunately, my passport return encountered a hiccup due to an incorrect zip code entered by the government. Since I received updates from ItsEasy I was made aware of this in real time. I reached out to the company and to my surprise the president personally responded within a half hour! He told me what to expect and that he’d keep his eyes on it….and he did. My passport did arrive and even after its journey the total turnaround time was just shy of 4 weeks!!!! I can’t say enough about ItsEasy’s customer service. I honestly don’t think I have ever encountered this level of care from a company and at such a reasonable price.
