I bought the console plug in and can't figure out how to configure it and there has been NO response from them as far as tech support or even example screens, no help built into the app. Again, once I guessed on the configuration it's kind of fun to use. If you're out there tech support, please answer my requests, buy at your own risk that you will guess how to use it. ### 3/5 — Does not work with ESXi Free *2017-09-16, version 2.7.1* The program appears to be solid, but I really wish I knew nothing would work on ESXi before I wasted $15. Bought app for $10 and then console add-on for $5. All worthless on the standard ESXi free version. Cannot start or stop VMs, can't connect via console. Really can't do anything at all other than see a list of your VMs. Can't control the main server either. ### 4/5 — Great app *2016-04-04, version 2.7.1* Connected right away via VPN to my vcenter and I was able to manage mostly everything. Reboot, power down, power up, VMotion etc. are all there. The guy needs to hire a user interface designer though as it needs an overhaul of the interface. Still use it to check hosts and view stats. Save your $5 for the remote console feature. When it can't app crashes. I want to choose when I am n a different VPN I can't see the first server connected... Please fix. Would be nice if you could actually create virtual machines and allocate space rather then just look at information and turn on and off guest os's. Although with previous review of reboot and shutdown mixed can't test that in a production environment... ### 3/5 — Missing some key features. *2012-01-11, version 2.3.8* Just downloaded this app and here is what I found so far. - No option to have the app ask for a password each time you connect to vcenter. Your username and password are cached. - Storage vmotion is NOT available. You can move VMs between hosts however. - Can't move VMs between resource groups. - Can't move VMs between Folders. - VM folders and resource are not even visible. - Can't clone. - Can't deploy from template. - Can't edit VMs (add RAM, CPU, etc) - Would be nice to have a SSH option to connect to the ESXi Hosts. - Screen shots still don't work with vSphere 4 despite the latest app update just today. ### 5/5 — Fantastic App for Managing your VMware Infrastructure on the Go *2011-12-30, version 2.3.7* What a fantastic app for managing your VMware infrastructure on the go. This app does almost everything I might possibly want to do from my iOS device. It makes great use of the screen real-estate whether on my iPad or iPhone. It feels lean and responsive and yet is quite powerful. No middle-man server or agent machine is necessary in the office. I simply start by launching a VPN connection to my office. From there, I can easily connect to my vCenter to look at my hosts, clusters and VM’s. For hosts, I can retrieve specs, powered on status, boot time, and other vitals. I can check on recent events, view recent tasks, alarms, etc. I can put a host into maintenance mode, reboot it, and shut it down. I can view the VM’s on a host. For guest VM’s, I can get utilization details, take snapshots, get details about the guest OS, review recent events and tasks, view alarms, power off, suspend, reboot , or shut down a guest. I can even trigger a vMotion. For extra cost, there is a console feature which provides console access to a guest VM. I haven’t tried this feature yet. If you manage a VMware infrastructure, you should definitely consider this app. Highly recommended. ### 5/5 — Solid app. *2011-11-24, version 2.3.4* This app works great even with large deployments (around 2k vms and 500 hosts) no need for additional installations and it's very fast and responsive. The console worked flawlessly while on my intranet or VPN, also i didn't have to install vnc server on my vms. Now it doesn't. Obviously there's no support from the developer. ### 1/5 — Doesn't really work with esxi *2015-12-27, version 2.7.1* Description said it does, but at the very end a note indicates it doesn’t due to limitations by vmware. I haven’t found any apps that allow the same control right from my phone—even when vsphere is not working. It feels odd to open an app and see it be a shrunken screen and design language from many OS versions ago. The remote console is a must and has saved me time. I took off one star because it crashes if you try to choose tasks. Tasks only work if you have a full VMware setup. Which I do not. They fixed crash issue. Adding a star. Definitely worth buying the console in app purchase. One note on in app purchases: If you decide to delete the application. It will remove your Ability to use the console. Simply repurchase the in app purchase again and even though it looks like it will charge you it will not. Thusly giving back your purchase.
