### 1/5 — Like it but still many bugs after years in the App Store

*2020-03-08, version 3.2.22*

I like this app and unfortunately there isn’t any better one available.
However, the existing issues (bugs) have not been fixed during several years and constantly struggling with them makes the app a real time waster. I have been struggling g in all kind of different devices, iPhone, ipad, MacPro and MacBook Pro and the issues are replicable on all of them.

The sync is a real pain and does not work well most of the time. I know it can take a long time for initial sync and that’s fine, but the (macOS) app simply stalls at a certain point and no more data is being synced.

Also, just like a previous reviewer, the revision mode seems to have his own life and works erratically.

To make one thing clear: I don’t mind much some bugs here and there, after all, no one is perfect and the app has great potential. The reason I’m giving this negative review is simply for two reasons:

1. All the bugs in the apps should have been found by extensive testing and user feedback and eliminated. Several years of time in the App Store seems sufficient to me.

2. Lack of documentation and a support forum or something similar. I was not able to find any information regarding the revision mode, for example. What algorithm/learning system is it based on? How can I refine this system? So a lot of features remain trial and error which I don’t have the time for.

Once most of these bugs have been fixed the app will certainly get a full five star review (although I think the UI interface is not very intuitive and pretty, but I suppose that’s a matter of personal taste).

### 5/5 — Tremendous potential - but not instinctive

*2017-11-14, version 3.2.12*

This app could be a gem in furthering language learning. Based on my not very extensive interaction with it so far, I am however feeling extremely frustrated. I have not yet succeeded in commencing a revision session for example... I am repeatedly told to select a lesson (which I have - the only one I’ve populated is right there, at the top of the page...) But that doesn’t work either - you have to select training mode, which I can’t find for the life of me. It is just not very ‘instinctive’, I have to conclude.
And HOW is it that I can’t select an Umlaut for my German vocabulary?? I am forced to use a dash character (ū), which is really irritating in a language learning app.
This app is SO CLOSE to being brilliant. Please keep tweaking - I’m dying to buy the full version!

### 5/5 — Best ProVoc mobile version, well worth the money

*2017-11-09, version 3.2.12*

I used to use ProVoc regularly on my computer for vocab study. The main thing that this app did for me that the usual names (Anki etc.) didn't have was that you actually have to type in the answer to get it correct and thus can't skimp out and just click next on a "yeah probably got this one now" attitude. You can't complete the test set without having got them all correct at least once and so this works extremely well come my tests because I know I've got it correct before and can recall back very well.

I had never found a viable mobile alternative for ProVoc (I was running with Vocab Pro as a next best) until this app, and I have to say function-wise it is everything I was searching for. I have a reasonably long commute to classes so being able to study and test myself on the train is amazing and the app has a wide range of test methods as well as being very easy to compile lists from (as opposed to having to copy pre-existing ProVoc files across from your computer). Even better, the app syncs over iCloud so I can make lists/study on both my phone and iPad with perfect syncing between them, which is amazing!

There's still the odd bug here and there but it's nothing that really prevents functionality anymore and sending a polite email to the developer reporting said bugs resulted in a thankful email and a resolve to work them out when he can, which is really appreciated.

Overall this app really helps my vocab study on the go and is absolutely worth the money, would definitely recommend to anybody looking for a more interactive Anki alternative or a mobile version of ProVoc. :)

### 4/5 — I never buy apps

*2017-09-14, version 3.2.10*

Not quite. I very rarely buy apps but when I got to my 30 word limit and thought about all the features I couldn't resist. Hope it will prove a valuable investment in my development in French learning. Also whilst listening to a podcast on my iPod I am using this on my iphone.
Would like it more if I was able to print my entries

### 5/5 — Great language learning app

*2016-04-01*

I’ve been using this app to study a tribal language for a few years now. building the language database is a breeze. It has been a big help to me. Good product support and consistently improving and removing bugs. Price has gone up since it’s invention, but so has the quality of the product. Contrast to BYKI which costs $90 USD and does not sync will with mobile devices worth a bean. Everyone should have ivocabulary.

### 5/5 — Great app for apple watch!

*2016-03-29, version 3.2.7*

Brilliant for revision! Pay for the advanced version to get full benefit. Great options on categorising lists and so much capacity. Buy it!

### 1/5 — Broken

*2015-08-31*

Worked fine until the latest update. Now it does not recognize previously loaded study books and will not let me re-load them from my Mac. The iPad program will not recognize my Mac even though the WiFi settings are correct.

### 2/5 — Pretty, but needs work

*2015-07-07, version 3.2.5*

This could be great! It has a lot of potential but at the present time it's full of little errors and problems which make it more or less unusable. It crashes frequently. Some menus and dialogues don't work - for example adding the language to a book frequently results in a blank. The book automatically & arbitrarily adds languages possibly based on the settings in the phone - then you have to go to the trouble of deleting those and creating new ones - which don't appear. There is an app for Mac too which is also nearly good. My advice to users: wait till the next iteration & to the developers- persevere!

### 5/5 — Way awesome, here's why...

*2015-06-03*

I've tried using many software apps to learn Spanish and German vocabulary words. This app is the best one, by far, and even allows you to download already made vocab lists. This app follows the program ProVoc. So if you have a Mac computer, these two can be paired.
