## What is Ivory Social?

Ivory Social is a social network where verified expertise drives the algorithm. All users are verified and can become experts in specific subjects. Ivory is for people who want to upgrade their feeds and break away from the traditional social media network experience.

Create a profile, follow people and communities, publish posts with media and continue conversations in private chat. Ivory organizes discussions around Towers: topic-based communities spanning academic disciplines and broader public-interest topics.

This version improves Ivory’s identity, privacy, and Expert application flows.

Verified profile names now come from the identity document, while the @nickname is managed separately and can be updated every 6 months. Name formatting and identity verification consistency have also been improved.

We’ve also added clearer privacy and security flows, including improved registration and identity verification notices, updated consent and personalization controls, better Settings for managing privacy choices, and account deletion request improvements.

The Expert application process is now more transparent. Applicants can better understand how verification works, including the point-based system, approval thresholds, Academic vs Community Tower criteria, and when applications go to staff review.

This update also includes general stability fixes and backend alignment.
