### 2/5 — VPN connection problems

*2026-07-25, version 2.14.2*

Wireguard has issues reconnecting to a network. Works only when manually turning the vpn on and off. Unusable since it stops me from using internet.

### 3/5 — Jesus h tap dancing Christ in a pink Barbie jeep.

*2026-05-17, version 2.14.1*

Every button press is so goddamn sloooooooowwww to respond. Fix it ffs. Otherwise it mostly works. Having a bs wire guard problem though.

### 3/5 — Update 12/25: Updating the app continues to be an exercise of frustration. You have to turn off all

*2025-12-30, version 2.13.0*

Journalists and other vulnerable users should be aware that when updating app all protections need to be turned off. If you get stuck reboot device.
______________Original review:

Been using them for awhile.

The good:
- hardblock mode is awesome!!! - (just remember to turn it off for Spotify, Gmail, etc);
- option to use your own DNS;
- consistently adding new features & improvements;
- one of the first to implement Wireguard, which lately has been flawless (the only protocol on iOS from any provider I’ve personally experienced that consistently honors on-demand settings on cellular);
-  multi-hop OpenVPN;
- physical servers instead of virtual (which most others use - go to amazon with your current VPN without signing in and see ship to - virtual vpns will show an exit that’s not the one you’re using);
- iOS App is decent and feature rich;
- Support via e-mail elicits prompt replies (w/in 12-24hrs), courteous & usually effective at resolving issues.
- price has decreased since I started with them.

The iffy: inbound connection attempts from various non-iVPN entities (watch your inbound utun firewall logs on a computer). Support says this should not be happening, yet as of 12/19 it still is. I just block all inbound, but for some this may not be tenable (ie gamers, enterprise users, etc).

The bad: To sign in to your account area on website, you have to enter email (user id is not an option). All communications with support are via email.
There is a chat button on their website, but it often shows support offline. I can understand that VPN providers get flooded with noob freakouts and to effectively man a live chat, with the current exponential increase in VPN usage, would take a small army.

For general web use, this is a great service. For anything more sensitive (ie you’re targeted - jounalists, etc), you may want to wait for the 2nd more thorough vetting (1st one - no logs - they passed, but so did Nord...) by independent organization, which is in the works.

Lately (note 12/19), iOS billing is borked (no renew subscription button as before -deleted & redownloaded app to no avail on 3 different iOS/iPadOS devices). Support says they will release a new version to rectify.

Overall this is the best paid VPN that I’ve tried considering all of the features, especially for iOS.

### 2/5 — 1yr of use and was okay until…

*2025-12-10, version 2.13.0*

…the last update makes the VPN turn off by itself and there are zero warnings or indicators. This is the second significant issue with this app so I am out. **I used this for one year (paid.** Bye!

### 2/5 — Poor Connectivity

*2025-11-12, version 2.12.5*

I want to like this vpn but I can hardly use my phone with it. Sometimes it works fine but nothing loads

### 3/5 — Why no update in months

*2025-10-16, version 2.12.5*

Ivpn used to be great but they seemed to have shut down.

### 4/5 — Excellente protection d´IVPN

*2025-08-18, version 2.12.5*

Manque plus qu’une version Française ! Merci aux développeurs.

### 5/5 — Alles super, bis auf den Akkuverbrauch

*2025-05-30, version 2.12.5*

### 4/5 — iVPN

*2025-05-03*

I don't use the app so I can't rate the app. I use the wireguard app which works as expected. so I'm enjoying your service.

as far as iVPN service goes, there is an issue when I connect to Phoenix in that it breaks some IoT devices, namely my thermostat. only happens with Phoenix server, all other US based servers work fine and as expected. keep up the good work.

// edit: new issue. cannot connect to ivpn servers with wireguard, no matter how it's configured. I can only connect with openvpn, not what I want to use.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your review. I have relayed your feedback to our infrastructure team. For technical problems - please reach out to us by emailing support@ivpn.net so we can help you resolve your issue.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not working

*2026-06-25, version 2.14.2*

I paid £1.99 for a week subscription. It doesn’t seem a lot but it is when the app doesn’t work. I’ve also sent a email.

### 1/5 — Cannot be depended on

*2026-05-08, version 2.14.1*

Reliability in the US has hit the dirt lately. Can't recommend this to anyone truly trying to stay private.

### 1/5 — No refund

*2026-03-03, version 2.13.1*

The developer charges it as a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and Apple usually denies refunds for one-time purchases. Refunds generally only work for subscriptions. The developer made sure that anyone who buys it through the App Store cannot get a refund.

### 1/5 — Bizarre iPad behavior

*2025-11-28, version 2.12.5*

Foregrounding the app in iPad invariably moves the connection switch to the top of the screen. It needs to not do that.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2025-11-06, version 2.12.5*

I've been using many VPN services over the years, usually premium ones. I have rarely seen functionality this poor. Even though the app appears to connect, usually none of the programs can establish connection to the internet. I've ruled out firewall, I've ruled out port restrictions, I've ruled out other limitations.

In addition, my two other VPN applications, Proton and Mulvad, continue working just fine. Absolute junk. Definitely not recommended.

### 1/5 — Trash, doesn’t work

*2025-10-01, version 2.12.5*

Doesn’t connect, gets detected by everything.

### 1/5 — Constantly disconnects

*2025-09-23, version 2.12.5*

Unstable connection disconnects. And support has no clue.

### 1/5 — Buggy unreliable connection

*2025-09-05, version 2.12.5*

Always loses connection and you have to remember to quit restart and reconnect. Notcstable connection.

### 1/5 — Worth vpn

*2025-08-10, version 2.12.5*

Literally the worth vpn ever
Unstable, low speed servers, stopping to work without any notification
No killswich mode, real make no sense for privacy, even cyberghost is better

### 1/5 — Bad now.  Confusing

*2025-07-14, version 2.12.5*

Was trying to find the kill switch feature but couldnt

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Top security

*2026-06-24, version 2.14.2*

Great product! High levels of privacy. It lets you set up custom DNS on smartphone apps, routers, and Windows apps, and in addition to three protocols, it also supports DOT and DOH. It doesn't have many servers, but it does support multi-hop. It's less stable on iPhone than on Android.

### 5/5 — Game Changer

*2026-05-10, version 2.14.1*

What literally stood out for me was the custom DNS I have not used another VPN that offers the type of custom DNS that IVPN does it offers DoT/DoH by entering the IP or more up to date you can paste in the URL like say from NextDNS which is what I use the multi-hop feature is great and smooth I was connected to Amsterdam then Manchester as exit node and got 500mbps download absolutely brilliant couldn’t recommend it enough

### 5/5 — Slow responsiveness

*2026-03-11, version 2.13.1*

The app is a bit laggy. It works but there is a bit of lag between when you select something and when the screen reacts.

### 5/5 — Very private

*2025-12-11, version 2.13.0*

This is a really good VPN with high privacy. This will definitely be installed on BSD system.

### 5/5 — Latest update fixes obfuscation

*2025-12-09, version 2.13.0*

Obfuscation wasn’t working for me at some public wifi when it was in beta, but the latest update fixes it, at least for me. I can now connect with WireGuard with additional features instead of IKEv2. YMMV if connecting to different networks, of course.

### 5/5 — Excellent ongoing support

*2025-11-16, version 2.12.5*

I've been using iVPN for over 6 years now, and the service and apps continue to improve and work very well. We travel a lot, and have used iVPN all over Europe with excellent results. Throughput and connectivity are very good. The service continues to get better. I trust this VPN provider to protect my privacy. Checkout their website for more details.

### 5/5 — Actual privacy

*2025-10-18*

Ive got no complaints, does not drop connection but every once in a while. Im glad to support a good, honest company. They publish articles educating people and don’t have cringe marketing with typical false advertising. That being said the fact the app hasn’t been updated over 7 months is concerning. Just doesn’t seem like a good sign they will be around for much longer but I hope I’m wrong.

### 5/5 — Good very good

*2025-10-05, version 2.12.5*

More than vpn)

### 5/5 — Najlepsia, najstabilnejsia

*2025-09-18, version 2.12.5*

Perfektna VPN sluzba.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2025-08-07, version 2.12.5*

Does what it says on the tin. No problem connecting to the vpn, and a good selection of servers to connect to
