### 1/5 — Did not work. Avoid.

*2024-06-10*

Downloaded app, entered my info, would not charge my car. Telephone customer service useless: the agent appeared to lack cleverness. I made a fixed determination to avoid this network with extreme prejudice.

**Developer response:** Hi, we are so sorry that you had a bad experience charging with us! Your feedback is appreciated. Please reach out to us support@ivycharge.com to tell us more about what went wrong, or if you have any issues in the future. Thank you!

### 1/5 — App makes the smart charger dumb

*2024-03-02*

The home charging portion of the app that is made for their version of the ‘Grizzl-e’-made smart charger has little if any ‘smart’ features; making it kinda ‘dumb’. No graphics, no real time power transfer readings,… It has also provided inaccurate historical charging data. Some major upgrades are needed.

### 1/5 — Horrible.

*2023-12-08*

Yet to have a positive experience with this company. The charging cables are too short for many EVs. The app never works properly. Won’t login.. no server… doesn’t send a code…each time there has been a total waste of time. Of all the companies out there IVY is definitely the worst.

### 2/5 — Application ok reseau pas fiable

*2023-10-20*

### 1/5 — Very poor support.

*2023-10-03*

Called for one week and no level 2 phone support. Just generic emails that don’t help.
Very frustrating, absolutely no help from Ivy support. Following all the instructions but charger will not connect to the network.

### 1/5 — Home charger setup fails even though wifi connects

*2023-09-23*

When setting up the home ivy charger, the app suggests an issue even though the wifi is connected and won’t let you continue. A way to add the already wifi connected device is needed. And a way to reset the wifi without using a hex key not included is needed.

2 hours of multiple tries and resets all resulted in inability to add a charger to the application.

Yes a special 2.4 GHz connection was created just for this charger.

iPhone 12 Pro Max was used for setup.

### 1/5 — Do any of them work?

*2023-08-05, version 3.11.1*

Still on the search for one station that is working

### 1/5 — Worst ever. Stuck at charger. Can’t charge. No help.

*2023-07-27, version 3.11.1*

Worst ever. Avoid ivy chargers like the plague.

### 1/5 — I hate Ivy 2.0

*2023-06-27, version 3.11.1*

The original system was fine. I would put money on my RFID card, and I could charge anywhere, no cell phone, data or wifi needed. Now I can only do that in certain locations. I found out today that I cannot charge in NORTH BAY without a cell phone. Also, Ivy’s support system is pretty much useless. I don’t like giving one-star reviews, but I’m done with Ivy.

### 1/5 — hot garbage on a platter

*2023-05-15, version 3.10.0*

I've been to Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq
and I can say without hyperbole
this app is a million times worse than all of them put together.

### 1/5 — Impossible de s’inscrire avec application

*2023-04-22, version 3.10.0*

La fenêtre ne s’adapte pas au format de l’ecran du iPhone. Alors ne peux pas appuyer sur l’onglet Sumettre

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Do better Ivy 😡

*2026-07-13*

I used to like Ivy, but now I hate them. Twice in two weeks their chargers are inoperable, once in south River, once in Sault Ste. Marie.

### 1/5 — Brutal!

*2025-12-13*

Not even sure where to start. Got the app, made an account, tried over and over to charge my car, but not charging. It charge me every time I tried, and some were returned, but ended up with a $200 bill and no charge. Called customer service and went in circles with Leah, the AI assistant for 30 mins while I froze beside the charging unit in -10. When I tried to connect to a real person they were all busy with other annoyed customers I’m sure, and instead of putting me on hold it let me go! Called back 5 times with no success. Good thing Leah isn’t real but she did have ability to know I was losing my mind and said someone would call back in to two business days. Not only did this turn me off of ever using ivy again, I may never buy an electric vehicle. Rant over. Suck it, IVY!!

### 1/5 — Most unreliable charging company

*2025-09-20*

Leader in broken chargers. And no easy way to report them to the company.

### 1/5 — One star at most

*2025-08-05*

If could give zero I would, no responsibility for maintaining the charging dtations. When 3 out of 4 are not working at an Ontario en route service stop, and no one fixes the issue during a long weekend, you can tell they don't care about customers and getting government contract funding is a free and lucrative business. Koodos to the owner for such a great busy plan.

### 1/5 — Ivy network is terrible

*2025-07-06*

All Ivy chargers in my area dont work. Ivy network is terrible.
They should fold and dont make people waste their time coming to their chargers.
None of them work.

### 1/5 — Worst chargers

*2025-05-23*

Horrible and unreliable. 50% are out of commission at any given time and the remainder are slow. Charge using another network.

### 1/5 — Definitely awful

*2025-05-19*

I read all the negative reviews, I downloaded the app, I will confirm that all the previous reviews are the same. This is one terrible app in business with a waste of government assisted money.

### 1/5 — Glitchy

*2025-01-16*

All 4 stations failed and I couldn't charge. This happens often with Ivy. It's glitchy at best.

### 1/5 — Out of Order

*2024-10-11*

Panned a trip from toronto to montreal. Got to where i was supposed to charge but ALL 4 CCS chargers were out of order (app didnt even say that). Now i’m stranded in the middle of nowhere and forced to charge at a 7kw charger.
VERY UNRELIABLE

### 1/5 — Poor app security

*2024-09-19*

I used it once and couple months later it leaked my credit card info. Then it got comprised and there is an unknown charge in the middle of nowhere.

**Developer response:** We’re so sorry to hear that your credit card was compromised. We have confirmed that there was no leak from our system—this did not happen from using your credit card in the Ivy app.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Fast charging at new ONroute stations

*2025-09-02, version 4.28.0*

I used the new Ivy fast chargers at ONroute this long weekend. Easy activation and very fast charging speed delivered. Native NACS ports are beautiful. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Fast chargers, easy charging experience

*2023-09-11*

Stopped at chargers along the 401 while visiting Toronto and Ottawa. Fast charging and easy activation experience.

### 5/5 — Worked well for us

*2023-09-02, version 3.11.1*

Charged our Subaru Solterra at Mallorytown ONroute IVY-0159. Four charging stations. Didn’t have the RFID card so used the code. 40.1kWh in 48 mins. One other EV charging for part of the time. Liked the display on charging station. Easy to read, logical interface. $17.80. Slight premium but hey, it’s the 401!

### 4/5 — Worked great in a much need location

*2025-08-13*

Lots of negative reviews from southern Ontario, but this spot in Kenora worked well. The app could be a bit easier to navigate the first time. It wants you to scan the QR code, but it’s not clear where to do that. I used the phone camera and then it opened up a browser window rather than the app. No big deal.

### 4/5 — So far so good

*2023-08-13, version 3.11.1*

Network is working well so far.

Maybe instead of / in addition to an RFID card you make an Apple Wallet card

### 4/5 — Where’s Apple Pay Support?

*2023-02-15, version 3.9.5*

So far the app is easy to use, I’ll actually test it out once my EV arrives but I’ve gone ahead and ordered my RFID cards to be prepared in advance and the process was super simple. I’d prefer Apple Pay as a payment method linked to the app & I hope Ivy will make that update soon. It’s a more secure way to pay than storing credit card information on a server. Please add Apple Pay & open up more chargers throughout Ottawa!

### 3/5 — Why do I need a plastic fob?

*2026-03-25*

Why can’t I just use my phone? It has NFC. An Apple Wallet NFC Ivy card would be so much better than old fashioned key tags. I detest carrying a cards. So wasteful.

### 3/5 — Could be so much better.

*2025-12-23*

Missing basic features . Cannot define favourite stations for those of us who use your charges on the same route repeatedly. Search function does not keep its place (after selecting a charging station and returning to the search function, you are required to search again to see the station you just selected). You could do so much better given you have a captive audience on the 401.

### 3/5 — Decent but not perfect first experience

*2023-11-11*

I used ivy for the first time yesterday because two flo stations in a row didn’t work.

First issue is that I downloaded the original ivy app about a year ago (without using it) and there was no indication that they had replaced it with a new app - just a bunch of weird errors like maps not loading or being unable to create an account. They should have made a final update to the old app then when launched would tell people they needed to download the new one and to subsequently delete the old app.

Once I did download the app, setting up my account was generally OK but I would ask the developer to consider allowing applepay so we don’t have to fidget with entering card information. To ivy’s credit, I’m glad they don’t operate using a balance like flo does; they simply use your payment info to charge your credit card directly for each session.

The app otherwise performs reasonably well.

### 2/5 — Terrible App

*2023-12-14*

The order of chargers makes no sense. I live in Windsor and this is giving me a near charger in Trenton! No way to search for a favourite or a map with the charger locations on it. Don’t like it, but if you want to travel the 401, I guess we are stuck with it.
