### 2/5 — Works for payments

*2026-08-15, version 132.0*

It does work for payments! Of course they charge you for the pleasure to access your earned money, it seems to be comparable to other payment processors for EHRs.

It does not work if your patient wants to get the request in any other form than text (which has been most people). It also doesn’t work well with spam or filtered text messages or phone companies that automatically filter out certain numbers. There is also no way to help the patient from your end (can’t enter the information yourself, get authorization/consent to do such, etc.). The system also doesn’t seem to check that it’s a card that is active (can actually be charged). Any type of flexibility that is needed doesn’t seem to be possible with this system.

It doesn’t have any record of outreach (date time of request/card decline, reminders sent, etc.).

The person, or maybe AI?, that responds to their customer service is not really helpful with specific requests. I would not be surprised to learn that it’s automated or AI.

### 5/5 — Works great!!

*2026-06-23, version 132.0*

This is the best service for therapists specifically for collecting payments. It’s quick, efficient, no issues, customer service always responds right away, and very straight forward with the lowest overhead cost out there!! Use this!!

### 5/5 — Great App

*2026-06-20, version 132.0*

I’ve been using Ivy Pay for several years now and it’s worked great for my practice. They also have a very helpful and responsive customer support team which is a major plus.

### 4/5 — Great option for HIPAA compliant payment

*2026-06-19, version 132.0*

I love using IvyPay and have had no issues using it and my clients have had no issues. My only grip is that it’s an app only. I’m Telehealth only and would love to have a tab open to bill rather than have to open up an app on my phone or computer(the computer app isn’t the easiest to use). Other than that, I love it!

### 5/5 — Trouble shooting payment

*2026-06-19, version 132.0*

I had an issue with my payment system and reached out for help. Jules was responsive, clear, and took the time to walk me through the troubleshooting steps. Their suggestion to remove the declined charge and send a fresh request solved the problem, and everything worked smoothly afterward. I really appreciated the thoughtful support and prompt follow-up. Excellent customer service!

### 5/5 — AMFT

*2026-06-17, version 132.0*

Customer Service is amazing. I had an issue and it was resolved within 24 hrs.

### 4/5 — A necessity for therapists

*2026-06-05, version 131.0*

Love this platform. Easy to use with almost as much as you need to use as your only EMR. only reason it’s not five stars is that you can’t call them for support. Only email.

### 4/5 — Great app, lowest fee (?)

*2026-06-01, version 131.0*

I really appreciate Ivy Pay quite a lot. It works effortlessly and takes what I believe is the lowest fee of any other payment platforms. The features they do include like good faith estimates and one-tap to charge are excellent. My clients’ experiences with it have all been very positive. The payout frequency is great. Customer service has been very helpful. One feature to add would be automatically generated superbills; that would make this app perfect!

### 5/5 — Excellent for solo practice

*2026-05-28, version 130.0*

I’ve been using this for several years with no issues. I appreciate the ability to charge clients, not having to wait on them or remind them about missing payments. It was also the lowest credit fee among my options at the time.

### 5/5 — Ivy Pay Support

*2026-04-30, version 128.0*

Recently I switched to solo practice from group and Ivy Pay support team has been great at providing me support and clarity as I needed. Also Ivy as an application is great - start forward and easy to use for transaction needs. Highly recommend using it if you’re talking co pay’s and/or private pay fees!

### 5/5 — Love Ivy Pay

*2026-04-07, version 128.0*

I cannot recommend this enough. This has made billing so much easier for my practice and the convenience is unmatched. I highly recommend Ivy Pay.

I love Ivy Pay.
It is so useful and the support is fantastic!

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2026-03-04, version 127.0*

This app is so easy to use and there’s a great support staff that is efficient and resolves issues quickly. Would highly recommend!!

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2026-03-03, version 127.0*

I love the app, very intuitive and easy to use. My only request would be if a client card is declined that we have the opportunity to try running their card again instead of needing to have them resubmit their card info.

### 5/5 — Ivy pay

*2026-03-02, version 127.0*

I love Ivy pay! No hassle no fuss. Everything you need in a payment source is there.

### 5/5 — Wonderful!

*2026-02-24, version 126.0*

EXCELLENT customer support!

### 5/5 — Customer service

*2026-02-24, version 126.0*

I received very quick support from Jules. Much appreciated!

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2026-02-18, version 126.0*

I have been using IvyPay since I started my private practice. It makes collecting payments from clients so simple. And the funds get put right into my business account within a business day or 2. The app itself makes tracking the payments super easy as well. It is well worth the money I pay for it for the peace of mind and ease of money transfer. I highly recommend it!

### 5/5 — Great, money-saving, platform

*2026-02-12, version 126.0*

I can’t recommend Ivy Pay enough. It has the cheapest credit card processing fees I’ve found, it’s intuitive and easy to use, and tracks everything I need to know.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Steals from custome

*2026-05-05, version 129.0*

My customer was double billed a $400 charge. I was only paid one time initially. I had to refund my customer the extra $400 they were charged, meaning I got paid nothing. If you’re okay with a processor stealing your money, this is the app for you!

### 1/5 — I think IvyPay has been hacked

*2026-01-19, version 125.0*

I am concerned that there’s been a hack at IvyPay and/or that my account has been targeted by hackers.

This evening, I sent an ‘update card’ link to a patient and she got a bogus screen that was not from Ivy Pay.

I updated the app, turned my phone off & on, and now IvyPay won’t let me log in, saying my email address is not valid. I log into IvyPay using this email address and it’s always worked. Something’s not right.

I just emailed Ivy directly at a customer support address I found on online.

Earlier this week, a colleague of mine reported that her client received a notice of charges fm Ivy for a date of service that never took place.

IvyPay is the only means with which I collect fm my clients. If I can’t get into my account, I can’t get paid. Please help!

Wish IvyPay had customer service.

### 1/5 — Avoid at All Costs. Horrible Support, Lost Refunds, No Accountability.

*2025-06-05*

I’ve spent 10 months trying to recover authorized medical refunds that Ivy Pay failed to return. Despite overwhelming documentation, Ivy Pay has stonewalled every step, refusing to escalate or take ownership of their errors. They attempted a refund to a closed debit card at a bank I never used and won’t fix it or issue a replacement payment, even though I provided full evidence, my provider reached out, and I followed every instruction.

The support team is unresponsive, indifferent, and unqualified to handle real problems. This has serious legal implications, especially when dealing with HSA funds governed by IRS rules. I’ve had to prepare formal complaints to the CFPB, FTC, IRS, and state AGs just to be taken seriously.

This company is not safe to use for handling medical payments or sensitive financial transactions. If anything goes wrong, you’re on your own. Use another platform. Your money, time, and sanity are worth more than this.

**Developer response:** Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. Please know that we take all feedback seriously, both positive and negative. We are committed to working collaboratively on any improvement when those opportunities arise. With that said, there is absolutely no merit or truth to your unsupported claim. Our HIPAA-safeguarded and PCI secure system assures that funds are always settled according to vigilant banking security regulations. If you have any further questions or updates, please feel free to reach out directly via support@talktoivy.com. Thank you for your collaboration.

### 1/5 — Months of Frustration and Gaslighting, Still No Refund

*2025-04-16, version 106.0*

If you’re thinking of using Ivy Pay, I strongly urge you to reconsider — especially if you’re handling sensitive healthcare reimbursements or using HSA funds.

I have been waiting over eight months for a refund on three transactions totaling nearly $300. Despite providing Ivy Pay with every piece of documentation they’ve requested — including detailed transaction data, multiple confirmations from my financial institution, and repeated attempts to help them identify the actual bank involved — they have failed to resolve the issue.

Their support team sends vague, scripted responses and refuses to confirm basic facts like which bank they used to process the original transaction. When asked for details (such as which institution remitted funds to them or how Bancorp is even involved), they simply deflect or restate previous messages. I even offered to go above and beyond by asking how they wanted delivery of official documentation — physical mail, encrypted email, signed PDFs, etc. — and they didn’t even answer.

Key issues:
	•	Refunds “initiated” but never received.
	•	Support places the burden of resolution entirely on the customer.
	•	No transparency regarding transaction pathways or their partner banks.
	•	No accountability — even when I’ve clearly done everything in good faith.

In short, Ivy Pay is not equipped to handle complex financial transactions, especially when things go wrong. Their lack of coordination, transparency, and support makes this app a liability for both patients and providers.

Avoid this app until they overhaul both their customer support model and their financial operations transparency. As it currently operates, they will not care at all about the financial havoc their business practices have on your life. The company is completely rotten from head down, so I wouldn’t even consider using this app until the entire executive team is replaced by individuals that that have even a bare minimum amount of care to help their customers by fixing their failures when they occur instead of expecting the patient to eat the loss incurred by Ivy’s incompetence and malfeasance.

They have no phone number for a good reason. They do not want to talk to you. Ever. Your utility to them is to make the payment so they can collect their profit. Everything after that point is, in their eyes, a waste of time. Phones ring, and with how many people they’ve hurt they couldn’t install a phone without having to be confronted with the incredibly cruel treatment they give anyone who has the misfortune of being affected by Ivy’s own incompetent actions. They like not having to speak to rightfully angry customers that they mistreat and abuse by ignoring good faith attempts to resolve issues and like being able to straight up ghost users that they’re not interested in conceding fault to. This company is either actively engaging in illegal behavior or are skirting a tissue paper’s width from it.

Involve your state’s Attorney General at the first sign of gaslighting before you let them waste more of your time. Contact the CFPB, the FTC if it is applicable and if they put you in a situation where they refuse to refund unused HSA funds, file Form 3949-A with the IRS to protect yourself from tax fraud they may be engaging in by misappropriating those funds.

If your therapist asks you to pay using this garbage, either offer some other form of payment or find another provider. You will suffer immensely if you fall victim to the arrogance and brazen disregard of the law that this company frequently exhibits.

### 1/5 — Scammers be careful

*2025-02-21, version 105.0*

When I started using the app, I deducted funds from customers’ accounts, but the money was not deposited into my bank account as expected. Later, I was surprised by attempts to withdraw large amounts from my bank account without my knowledge or consent. To this day, the funds have not been deposited into my account, raising concerns about the credibility of this platform. Therefore, I would advise users to exercise caution when dealing with it.

### 1/5 — Beware!!

*2024-12-20, version 105.0*

Ivy withheld $18k from our group practice just before the holidays. This went on for 3wks without any information on what was happening. With little response and no explanation as to what happened, this has scared us away. I say go with a more reliable service with better customer care.

### 1/5 — Terrible app for clients

*2024-10-31, version 105.0*

This app is obviously designed for Therapists but is so difficult to use from a client perspective. Therapist can log into their accounts online or via the app, but clients have to manage most features using text message prompts from their therapists. This means that I have to text my therapist every time I need to update my credit card or change some other setting in my account. It is an absolute pain. Ivy needs to develop a client version of their app or make the website more feature friendly for clients. I can login, I can access my statements, but that is it. I find that ridiculous for a financial services app.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2024-07-21, version 104.0*

Unbelievably tedious & monotonous for clients. Must go through several steps and layers of security for each superbill. User experience for clients is awful.

### 1/5 — No Customer Support

*2022-09-30*

They are great if you don’t need anything. If you have ANY problems or questions, don’t expect to be able to reach anyone or get ANY response, let alone have an issue fixed. When you’re talking about people’s money, being able to make a living and confidential PHI, not being able to address and resolve issues is a HUGE problem!

They will respond to this negative review (really, don’t bother, it’s performative), but NOT to ANY emails. You should be concerned when a business provides no customer service number to call and only has an internal online contact form on their website. They will NOT respond to this and never call you either when you select a tel call re: your request for help. This IS deliberate (and I know they ARE getting these correspondences).

They do respond to negative reviews in a public forum, but NOT to customer inquiries and needs to resolve legitimate problems with their system! They are more concerned about their image and purposefully ignore customer needs (which would actually eliminate negative reviews). It doesn’t seem like good business or make any sense, to deliberately ignore problems that appear you can solve pretty easily. But to not even respond to the inquiry at all, is just bizarre. See the reviews here and at the BBB. This seems to be their brand.

**Developer response:** Hi there, our community team would love to ensure that you're supported. Please do reach out to us at support@talktoivy.com so we can help out.

### 1/5 — Terrible customer support

*2022-03-21, version 78.0*

I was happy with this app until I had a problem. A client took issue with a charge and instead of contacting me, they contacted their bank. Ivy Pay said they’d handle it with the bank - and just asked me to show proof that the session occurred. Now, they will not get back with me and I have no way to follow up. I’ve contacted them through the the only way you can - requesting a response through the app and it’s been over a month since they’ve contacted me. I will be switching back to Stripe. Update: I just got an email from them requesting that I change my review, or “contact the developer”. I got so excited - thinking - I can finally get ahold of them - but it’s just the same link I’ve used about 15 times to contact them, and haven’t gotten a response back in over a month.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Very easy to use and great customer support

*2026-08-25, version 132.0*

I have used Ivy Pay for many years and it is incredibly user friendly. I love being able to text clients and not have to handle credit cards. They also have amazing customer support. I have had to reach out only a few times and they responded quickly with very helpful information to solve the problem. Highly recommend!

### 5/5 — Seamless and fair HIPAA complaint service

*2026-08-19, version 132.0*

I’ve been using Ivy Pay, on a trial basis for 1.5 months now. I’m finding it to be a super easy, fair and effective way to collect client payments while remaining HIPAA compliant. I also reached out for support and had an effective response. I wish I had adopted this earlier and give it my highest recommendation.

### 5/5 — Perfection!

*2026-08-15, version 132.0*

Couldn’t be easier to bill and (when inevitably you make a mistake as a human being) refund your clients. Super helpful to have something this easy for my all telehealth practice… I wouldn’t consider anything else!

### 5/5 — Highly recommend!

*2026-07-28, version 132.0*

I’ve been using ivy pay for the past five years and it has been an easy, user friendly way to manage payments for my clients! Their customer support is so responsive and helpful as well!

### 5/5 — Helpful & Useful in many ways.

*2026-07-27, version 132.0*

Ivy Pay handles all the logistics of credit cards and medical cards easily with immediate alerts about the current process and accurate records for all. Also, easy to issue refunds if insurance changes. Love having an app that’s just for therapists and don’t mind paying their reasonable fee. Support is amazing, even for someone like me whose strong suit is not electronic savvy. I highly recommend this system.

### 5/5 — Great option for private practice

*2026-07-24, version 132.0*

This has been an easy and affordable way to manage billing for my private practice. And great customer support!

### 5/5 — easy to use - excellent service

*2026-07-07, version 132.0*

I have used this as my payment platform for my small private practice for years and it works great. It's so simple to use and the one time i had a minor question about the app, someone from customer service replied to me within 10 minutes. Highly recommend!

### 5/5 — Never switching to another platform!

*2026-06-30*

I’ve been using Ivy Pay now for almost 4 years and haven’t considered switching once! My EHR gives me the option to charge clients via a built in platform, but the fees are much higher and I see complaints all the time about delayed deposits from that platform. Charging clients via Ivy Pay takes an extra 10 seconds of “work” and gives me peace of mind that my clients information is secure, I’m HIPAA complaint, my deposits will be seen in my bank account within 1-2 business days and that I’m paying the lowest rate!! The few times I’ve had an issue with clients receiving text messages Customer Support has been so responsive/quick with getting back to me and is always helpful, giving step by step directions to pass along to clients to troubleshoot and offering additional support if needed (it never has been because it’s always been an error caused by the clients phone, not Ivy Pay). 10/10 recommend the platform for any therapists/MH professionals considering it!!

### 5/5 — Year three, still loving this app

*2026-06-25*

When I first opened my solo practice, I chose Ivy Pay simply because it had the lowest fees. Three years later, I’m still sticking with it! It’s really easy to use, has a clean interface, and allows me to collect fees when I’m ready to do so. I’ve had some feedback related to invitation texts going to spam and appearing overly vague, as well as some difficulty having to re-enter card info after initially declined—but their customer service always provided clear rationale for why these features function the way they do for HIPAA and other compliance purposes. In my experience, all customer service inquiries are responded to quickly, clearly, and kindly.

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2026-06-23, version 132.0*

Such a helpful app for solo practitioners, and excellent customer service.
