### 1/5 — Update killed all access

*2019-04-19, version 13.0.0*

The latest update blew away ALL issues and neither a sync nor a restore has resolved the issue.

Puhleeze! We are in the 21st century, folks.

### 1/5 — Tired of the problems

*2019-04-14, version 13.0.0*

Like others here, I’m tired of the constant problems with this app. Now I can’t access issues I already paid for, and restoring them is impossible. Cancelled my subscription.

### 1/5 — Don’t ever buy an issue or use the app.

*2019-02-09, version 12.6*

Currently the spring issue has the cover of another magazine Knitscene. Previous issue has a gray rectangle for the cover. Absolutely no support for the app. I don’t think they know what quality control is. Previous issues I paid for no longer available. Rip off!

### 1/5 — Buyer Beware

*2019-02-05, version 12.6*

I bought a subscription through ITunes when the first issue was available and subscribed for a couple of years. After they updated the app, I can no longer access any of the issues that previously PAID FOR! Unless you enjoy being ripped off, do not subscribe or purchase issues. If I could give negative stars I would.

### 1/5 — Very bad

*2018-11-27, version 11.0*

You took an easy to read app for a magazine & turned it into a difficult cumbersome piece of junk

### 1/5 — I would give it 0 if I could

*2018-08-24, version 11.0*

If you unsubscribe, you lose the ability to view ALL of the issues you purchased. They made the change and neglected to tell subscribers. This is ROBBERY and they should be ashamed of themselves.

### 1/5 — Outrageously Bad!

*2018-08-05, version 11.0*

I’ve had nothing but problems with this App/iTunes subscription. Issues don’t appear for months after they’re published and app support never comes through! After years of frustration, I cancelled my iTunes subscription and now I have no access to all the issues I’ve PAID for!!

### 1/5 — More Crash Time than Read Time

*2018-06-01, version 2.0*

This version of the app crashes with regularity throwing the reader back to the home screen. App desperately needs attention.

### 1/5 — Would give zero stars if possible

*2018-04-02, version 1.0.57*

I started subscribing to this magazine years ago, both to save precious space in my small apartment and to create less environmental impact (paper, print, postage, transportation). While I have consistently been frustrated by the delays in getting the digital editions out compared to the print magazines (why?why?why?), both through the iTunes app and Zinio, recent events have completely disgusted me. Without any notice whatsoever, the iTunes app disappeared, and with it, ALL back issues I had purchased. Knitters like to keep old editions; the patterns have value for many years, and they are part of a knitter's library. At the same time, the current issue (Spring 2018) was never delivered to us unfortunate digital subscribers, though it's been available in print for over a month. Today, finally, after way too long after the disappearing app, the app and back issues reappeared, but I still don't have the new issue. I learned from Ravelry groups that this is a systemic problem, not limited to me by any means.

It is not in the least efficient or convenient to have to complain and chase down purchased magazine issues on a regular basis. Kinda defeats the purpose of electronic magazines, no? Plus, when we buy digital mags and books at prices at or near the print versions, it is reasonable to expect that these will be available indefinitely, as is true for a print magazine. The contract for the subscription doesn't say that our access to the materials is time limited in any way; it is referred to as a purchase, not a rental or loan. I believe that you are in breach of the subscription agreement, and if this problem isn't wholly remedied very shortly, I will be pursuing all possible remedies, legal and otherwise, to obtain satisfaction on my subscription. I believe that there are many other frustrated consumers who will be glad to join me.

Update: old issues have been restored, but where is Spring 2018? It's been available for at least a month, but not here! Further, nowhere (either in the app or on the interweave website) can I find any information about my subscription, i.e. no record of it. This is shameful customer service ... just give us what we paid for!

### 1/5 — Awful

*2016-05-06, version 1.0.57*

I emailed them I WANT my money back, if it doesn't happen I'll tell my back it was a fraud. Cause that's what it is!

### 2/5 — Where's the digital edition?

*2015-12-01, version 1.0.57*

Still waiting for winter 2016. The print issue is out, zinio has the digital edition of winter 2016. Interweave has said that they've given the new edition to iTunes, but so far nothing. I don't know if it's iTunes or interweave that's the problem. All I know is that interweave is losing customers.

### 1/5 — Still no magazine

*2015-11-23, version 1.0.57*

The print magazine has been out for a month! Still not available in the app. Will not renew.

### 2/5 — Don't subscribe through iTunes

*2015-08-13, version 1.0.56*

I love this magazine and I love my iPad. But this review is for the app, and it is poorly managed. Why do I get my paid subscriptions weeks after the magazine is available for purchase? I still don't have the fall 2015 edition, but at least I can peruse the patterns on Ravelry. Glad they fixed the landscape problem -- that was just weird.

### 1/5 — Faster access with zinio

*2014-05-25, version 1.3*

I initially purchased my subscription via zinio, then for some reason switched to itunes. When this subscription period ends, it's back to zinio. New issues are not available for download immediately upon release. The summer issue has been out for two weeks on zinio and through the interweave website, but nothing on the iTunes newsstand. Not acceptable. The same goes for all the magazines I subscribed to. Will return to zinio and it's faster access.

### 2/5 — Great Magazine but terrible subscription issues

*2014-05-21, version 1.3*

I always receive my subscriptions late or not at all. It took me 5 emails to get this issue resolved with the publishing company for the last issue. Now that the Summer 2014 is released I'm having the same problem. This is such a hassle. I can't understand why this has to be so difficult. I love the magazine but it drives me crazy when I can't see what I'm paying for!!! This is an issue that need to be resolved or this is the last time I renew my subscription.

### 1/5 — No respect for digital subscribers

*2014-05-14, version 1.3*

If you try a digital subscription to get the magazine as quickly as possible, forget it. Interweave has no respect for digital subscribers. They don't send the digital version to Apple until the publication date, and then blame Apple for any delay. Meanwhile the magazine is on sale on their website and in stores for weeks before we get it. I will never subscribe to another Interweave product.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Missing issues

*2023-08-12*

I constantly lose access to my subscription mid-year and have to spend days trying to get someone to help me to actually be able to get access to a magazine. I wanted to read for days prior. Very frustrating it happens repeatedly over and over. And using iTunes sync and using restore my purchases and updating and reloading me app don’t work.

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2020-09-18, version 13.1.0*

since updating this app a few years back I have lost years and years of issues. I had every digital mag Intereave Knits had put out. Now I have access to 5 issues because the app gives a restore failure notice and no recourse whenever I try to get my old issues back. Additionally, I am a subscriber and the app doesn’t give me the issues I have paid for. I have been breaking down and purchasing issues a second time. I have no problem with the other Interweave apps but this in a disaster.
A way to contact someone for help with the app would be greatly appreciated

### 1/5 — Too many problems and won’t let me leave comments

*2020-06-16, version 13.1.0*

What happened?Magazines
too

### 1/5 — So Disappointed

*2019-08-07, version 13.0.0*

I was a loyal online customer and looked forward to every issue. I’ve been paying for an annual subscription for YEARS. Now, Zinio can’t restore my purchases? This is so infuriating. I want to cancel, but then I lose any access to my previous purchases. Getting through to Zinio is basically one of the 12 trials. Interweave, you need to pressure Zinio to get it together for us iTunes customers. Meanwhile, just get an old-fashioned print subscription. I’ve wasted so much time trying to fix this, and I’m flabbergasted.

### 1/5 — What a sham

*2019-07-12, version 13.0.0*

I’ve been a digital subscriber for years via iTunes app. Can’t access any of my content but F&W are still taking my money. Looking back at old reviews online this seems to be a pattern. It’s impossible to write an accurate review of the app since I am unable to access any content although historically app was a bit clunky IMHO. Now I’ve lost years of magazines. I reached out to the internet confident that someone out there could help but, for once, the internet community failed me.
Would NOT recommend on recent experience

### 1/5 — Can’t login

*2019-07-11, version 13.0.0*

It looks like a great app but I can’t login. My login is through my google account and that’s not an option like it is online. So I have this app downloaded and I check it every so often waiting so that I can login. Makes me so sad.

### 1/5 — Zinio should be charged with grand theft!

*2019-07-09, version 13.0.0*

I subscribed to this magazine from the beginning (I think at least 8 years). This update erased all my magazines. I have emailed back and forth with Zinio at least 20 times. First, they told me I had no subscription. I sent the most recent RENEWAL confirmation from iTunes. Now they admit I have a subscription, but won’t restore my magazines unless I can produce a receipt for every single magazine. And yes, I deleted the app, reinstalled, blah, blah, blah. These people are thieves and Interweave should be ashamed.

### 1/5 — DOES NOT WORK

*2019-07-01, version 13.0.0*

I have a subscription to IW Knits thru iTunes and was OK until probably the last upgrade. Now I can’t access anything - and I have tried in both iPad and iPhone. I have upgraded to latest version, waited even a few days for purchases to restore (another reviewer suggested that might take a few days), but to no avail. Until they fix this, don’t subscribe thru iTunes.

### 1/5 — Where are my digital issues?

*2019-05-13, version 13.0.0*

I can no longer access via iTunes! I purchased all the back issues previously via iTunes but they do not restore with the new update. Users beware: Don't Update until this is fixed!

### 1/5 — New version failure

*2019-04-26, version 13.0.0*

Wow... I have been a subscriber for years. I can’t view past or present editions with the new version. The zinio website dead ends at a cookie pop up that goes to a blank page. Additionally, there is no refund on a year long subscription that I’m only a month into and have no way to look at!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Locked out of purchased content

*2018-05-31, version 2.0*

I am not able to access my past issues with this new update. When I contacted IK I was told that I must be an active subscriber to access content I ALREADY PAID FOR!!! Subscribe to Vogue Knitting instead.

### 5/5 — Unimpressed

*2013-08-09, version 1.2*

Until I, a print subscriber, can access issues through this app without incurring additional costs, no other "improvements" will matter.

### 5/5 — Knits

*2013-05-30, version 1.1*

Works perfectly for me! No issues. I like that I can link to other web sites, it's great!

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2012-03-08, version 1.01*

I haven't experienced any problems. This is my favorite knitting magazine. I was a little skeptical at first because flipping through my new issues with a cup of coffee in hand was always a special treat just for me. I couldn't imagine it getting any better. But this format IS so much better! Always with me, doesn't take up any more space in my bag, and best of all when I see an advert or product I'd like to know more about it is just a click within the app away! Love it!

### 4/5 — eating crow

*2019-05-08, version 13.0.0*

I must now revise my initial review. I did hear from the developer. Apparently, once you set up your account, it takes 24 to 48 hours until you can restore your purchases and access new content. The new app is actually more user friendly. I am giving it 4 stars (not 5), because it does not tell you there is a lag once you set up the new account. This cost me over two hours with Apple support and sending emails to the developer.

### 4/5 — Not bad

*2012-09-03, version 1.02*

I think I could get used to this and not have to worry about storing paper magazines. I like the favorite button that saves my favorite patterns so I could go to them in an instant instead of having to flip through the magazine. For people who like to photo copy the pattern all you have to do is take a picture of your screen, then go to your albums and print.

### 3/5 — Summer 2021 issue won’t download

*2021-06-07, version 2500000.0.6*

Normally I’d give this app 5 stars, but not lately. I have an iTunes subscription paid up to March 7, 2022. The Summer 2021 issue shows up in my library, but when I tap to download it, I get an error message every time. I’ve tried “Restore Purchases” multiple times over several days. Still won’t download.

### 3/5 — Good app but missing an important part

*2014-09-10, version 1.0.55*

I like the way they have laid out the presentation of the magazine. It offers multiple ways of accessing the issues you purchase through the app. What it doesn't offer is the ability to view issues you may have purchased from their website. This forces you to keep two separate libraries of their magazines.

### 3/5 — Previews?

*2013-11-24, version 1.3*

I don't know if this is up to the magazine or if it's an issue with the newsstand in general, but it would be helpful to have SOME idea of what this issue's projects are. Interweave stuff is pretty fabulous, always, but still ... I don't usually decide on a publication like this based on the cover.

### 3/5 — Bugs

*2013-11-08, version 1.2*

Having issues getting the latest issue . . .
