### 4/5 — handy app, but…

*2025-04-14*

Big drawback if running on a Mac…the Print button is at the bottom of the box, off screen, so printing was not possible. Had to reboot the machine at command line to get out of this.

**Developer response:** this is controlled by Apple and the resolution of the screen. iWeaveIt has no control over the size of the print dialog. Either change text size, resolution or set the icons to not take up screen space.

### 3/5 — Add ons don’t add on!

*2025-03-08*

I really like the app but the two add ons I purchased won’t show up in the program. Very frustrating.

**Developer response:** If this is still an issue, please contact support at weaveit.canyonart@gmail.com
Usually the issue is the internet connection to Apple when you purchase.

### 3/5 — Pretty good except for colors

*2024-06-26*

Pretty good app, not entirely intuitive. Looks like most weaving apps are expensive, but for this price having better color options would be nice. I would love to be able to re-arrange the colors on the pallet, and have the ability to put in RGB colors or hex codes, so I could better color match the yarn I have and create shades and tints of a specific color. I would also love a way to save multiple different palettes, besides making a bunch of patterns. I would also appreciate a way to replace colors (en mass) without having to get rid of the previous color- like the paint bucket tool. I would also love a rigid heddle setup option :) But the twill it option is great.

**Developer response:** You can create color palette with the color editor and then use all the colors in a draft. When you want to use that palette, first load the palette draft you created. The difficulty with add RGB or hex code is that different systems use different ways of representing color. RGB is not standard, sometimes is decimal percent based, sometimes 1 - 1000 and sometimes 1-255 so value isn't consistently standard. Which to use??

### 4/5 — Pretty good

*2023-02-13*

The cheapest wif editor I have found (other than on line) and pretty good. The warp, tie up, and treadling areas expand to allow editing with fingers (good) but when they do, they hide part of the draw down (depending on zoom) which is very frustrating when you are trying to shift a pattern to get the desired edges. No repeat capability that I could find, which is unsurprising for the price, but is a feature I would gladly pay extra for. A recent update dramatically improved the iCloud file handling. It can now open and modify files anywhere in iCloud. Creating new files is slightly broken: you can save as untitled, but other names cause a file error. For now, use the Files app to rename new files.

**Developer response:** You can use the app to locate the file to anywhere you want. When you create new, move to the folder you want it in. Apple requires that the wif document be created on New. The iWeaveIt file manage is a subset of Apple Files Manager, so you can select and do a move from iWeaveIt.

### 3/5 — OK

*2023-01-15, version 5.2.6*

The cheapest wif editor I have found (other than on line) and decent but not great. The warp, tie up, and treadling areas expand to allow editing with fingers (good) but when they do, they hide part of the draw down (depending on zoom) which is very frustrating when you are trying to shift a pattern to get the desired edges. No repeat capability that I could find, which is disappointing but unsurprising for the price. The file handling is buggy: you can open or create a document in iCloud, but when you save, the saved file always ends up on the iPad. I ended up using it to make a preliminary design, then editing the result in a text editor and a demo of a macOS app to refine it. I did not try the add-ones.

### 5/5 — Good tracker

*2021-08-10*

This program isn’t as convenient for design as the weaving programs on pc but you can open a wif file in an email and follow the treading as you weave. Well worth the price

### 3/5 — Nice for editing but poor file system

*2020-09-20*

I am new to weaving but I think I understand this app fairly well. I do like that you can modify so many aspects of the files.
Unfortunately you cannot specify where the files are saved so if you have downloaded one from the internet and open, then save it seems to always go into the “on my iPad” folder. So these are not in the iCloud Drive! Do I have to move everything so I can see it on another device?
Also some of the files (in the Samples folder) do not show the threading unless you click on it to edit, but still does not show or print it.
It would also be nice if you could set defaults, such as treadling or lift, number of shafts, etc. so you don’t have to do this for each wif.
If these features are there please let me know how to find them!

**Developer response:** iWeaveIt uses Apple's file system. You can move and select and do everything with the Apple Files App. Create you file initially where you want it, for example in iCloud Drive and then it will save there and be available for all your devices even on Microsoft Windows iCloud Drive.

### 2/5 — IWeaveIt

*2020-07-11*

I purchased and paid for the program thinking it would help. I cannot wrap my stoke brain around this program. I’ve been weaving since approximately 2014. I’m not exactly a beginner but a stroke in 2016 makes it just too difficult and frustrating. It must be a good program but not for me.

### 5/5 — Love This App!!!

*2020-05-29*

I’m a fairly new weaver & was sooo excited to discover this App for my IPad! After trying it out, I purchased the add-on’s also. It is well worth the price! What a wonderful tool to have.

### 5/5 — This app has deteriorated recently-amended rating!

*2020-05-05*

I-I have amended my review up to a full 5 stars as whatever issues I was having have miraculously disappeared! Whether this was my improved understanding, an improvement to the app, or a combination of both-I had to up my rating!
I used to love this app but recently I have encountered a number of issues. Firstly, it seems to be slower to respond when using the Track to Treadle and Track to Thread function, meaning I am waiting for it.
Secondly, whenever I save a design part way through weaving, then open a different design, when returning it reverts to the first pick of the first sequence of the original draft instead of where I left off. This has ruined an important project as despite my best attempts to find my place, it was a complex design and was impossible to retrieve.
Thirdly, drafts seem to be randomly saved in a number of different folders despite my attempts to give clear and distinctive names and locations for each. When I alter a design and save with a new name, the original version is lost! I’m very disappointed.

### 5/5 — Perfect

*2020-02-16*

This app is so useful! I totally recommend it, been using it for many years, I find it more more easily accessible than my pc software 😊

### 5/5 — Works

*2020-01-31*

This app wouldn’t work when I first got my iPad. I uninstalled and reinstalled it, which worked. The app does what it should.

### 2/5 — Why more money

*2019-11-25*

I can’t believe this program does not include counts for colors and total calculations for needed yarn. Really you have to purchase this separately, that should be part of the cost for the program.

### 4/5 — Print out the user manual for reference

*2019-06-22*

I found that printing out the user manual was quite helpful ... I know, I know we should all be getting away from printing so much paper, etc. Each page is put into a plastic sleeve and then placed in a 1” binder. I then earmarked particular pages for quick referencing. This is a wonderful tool!

**Developer response:** It is also helpful to save the guide in your Books app on the iPhone/iPad and then it is always handy. Thank you for your review.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No help available

*2024-07-07, version 5.4.2*

The website that hosts the guide/manual is not loading. This is very unfortunate as I am new to the app and weaving and need support with getting the most out of the app. Very disappointing for what I paid for this app.

### 1/5 — Files missing

*2020-01-27*

I am pleased with this app because it is so easy to use. But, my files keep disappearing AND I am getting somebody else’s files mixed in with mine. I emailed help and the response I got was,
“I have no idea. I don’t know. It’s all in Apple iOS File system. Nothing I can do.” Huh?

### 1/5 — Crashes on iPad

*2019-12-28*

Literally doesn’t open on my iPad. Completely annoyed I paid so much for a non functioning app.

### 1/5 — Terrible update (updated)

*2019-10-02*

Since today’s update I can no longer open any files in the cloud. I reinstalled the app and it now refuses to recognise my in-app purchases. Dreadful. I also have the Mac version on my laptop which is very expensive. Very let-down by the whole experience, and feeling v out of pocket for an app with some terrible flaws.

One year on, this app remains v poor indeed. I have lost all my in-app purchases so had to pay again to track treadling. The app now constantly makes me restore purchases if I want to use this function. If I have a file open in the app, it goes missing and can no longer be opened from within the app. I have to go to files and open it from there.

I have tried contacting the developer and the response was so bad tempered (apparently it’s all apple’s fault and I’m incompetent) that I won’t be trying that again.

I’ve had this app for a long time and I feel v let down by it and saddened by the developer’s attitude.

### 1/5 — Of no use at all !

*2019-09-17*

I also give up ! Terrible app, no useful functions and is little better than a simple pattern viewer.
I see that One can pay to get add-ons that really are the simple tools of a basic app ! e.g Like colour selection.
There is nothing to recommend this app. Following app updates / reinstalls it seems that one may not be able to re-establish past purchases ! You have to pay again ... and again.
Sally claims to be the elderly ‘one - woman - band’ owner of iWeaveIt and is of no help at all,
This app needs some serious update too make it of any value whatsoever, so come on Sally, have some respect for your customers!
..... Don’t buy this app ....

### 1/5 — Langue

*2019-02-13*

Ce serait très intéressant de pouvoir le lire en français.

### 1/5 — Errors After Update

*2018-10-30*

I have used iWeaveIt happily and successfully for years, and have become very familiar with its use. Since the recent update, however, I am now getting serious calculation and filing errors. The program is currently telling me, for example, that a warp of 315 threads sett at 20 epi is 3.27 inches wide. I am using iWeaveIt 4.1.

**Developer response:** This bug was fixed in version 4.0 of iWeaveIt.

### 1/5 — Changement avec la version 12

*2018-10-27*

Je ne suis plus capable d’ouvrier directement mon app sur ma tablette, j’arrive dans le cloud. Mes enregistrements ne fonctionnent pas non plus. Je n’ai pas accès à mes vieux dossier directement sur IWeaveIt.

### 1/5 — Totally irritated!

*2018-10-03*

This "major update to the file management system" resulted in taking something that was easy and simple and replacing it with something cumbersome and clunky. You can’t even specify where you want to save a pattern. The condescending "did you forget?" comment is really uncalled for too. I am beyond unhappy.

**Developer response:** The files are not lost. Unfortunately the update did not show the startup help which explained the new file manager. Please go to www.weaveit.com/iweaveit_support to get the documentation for this file manager. It is like the Apple's IOS Files App and the files are there and you can see them in the Files App. The Save As was fixed in version 4.1. Apple discourages "rolling your own" file management that was in previous versions. iWeaveIt now uses Apple's DocumentBrowser and as the functionality of that new file management improves, iWeaveIt will also get the improvements.

### 1/5 — Frustrated

*2018-04-30*

The apps is very frustrating. Hope this can be improved?

Didn’t ‘label’ the warp number (except those 2 numbers at the corners which u need to keep scrolling to match the edge) so need to count the cell.

When i want to change the colour from ‘pattern view’, I have to go to select mode but they don’t automatically go to where i want to change the colour at the view. No connection between ‘pattern view’ and ‘edit pattern’ . Very frustrated.

Can’t select using iPad pencil. Can only select by finger.

I really hope this can be improved, otherwise this can be a useful apps

**Developer response:** The pencil will be supported in a later version. It requires code changes to support.
It was more important to fix file system issues caused by IOS 11 and the new files app. This impacted everyone.

The problems you describe foe editing occur because the editing must be done by touch and the cell size is limited by the screen size. If the drawdown is zoomed to same size of cell then they match, but then you can’t see the drawdown. My approach to finding a specific thread is to change the color at the place where you think the problem is. It will then stand out. Easy way to change color in Mark mode is to set the color in palette and then touch just the color of the thread. Hope that helps.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — IweaveIt

*2024-02-10*

Love it! I wished I found it sooner. Enormous helpful! I have a floor loom, but I think it makes working with a table loom a lot easier as well. With the tracking. It tells nicely which shafts should be lifted. Maybe I will get a little one now 😅

### 5/5 — Just what I need

*2024-01-11*

I’ve been using iWeaveIt for years now and it’s always done pretty much everything I need it to. The in-app purchases are worth it. I use it on my iPad which is perfect to put on my castle while I weave. My only issue is that it seems to lag sometimes, but for all I know, that may be my device.

### 5/5 — Beginner weaver and I love this app

*2023-09-28*

I have found using this for weaving has been so helpful! I love seeing how colors interact and getting a visual for what I’m creating. I also love the tracking of threading and treadling, it keeps me on track and accurate.

The one thing I have noticed that could be improved is the tracking for the treadling: I often have 2 or more projects going at the same time and when I go to track the treadling for the one saved file, it notices that I am tracking on another file, and if I click “yes” to start on the file I’m currently on, it then erases where I am at on the previous file I was tracking. It would be VERY helpful if it would save where I am at in the treadling and threading for each individual file that I am using concurrently.

### 5/5 — Great design tool

*2023-05-21*

As a new weaver, this app has helped me understand how weave structures work. I’ve learned so much by playing with the tools that helped me experiment in a way I wouldn’t have done without it. Great product!

### 5/5 — ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

*2023-03-09*

I’ve been weaving for about a year now, and being able to visualize how changing a draft affects the final look of a project in real time has helped me read drafts much more fluently!

### 5/5 — Good solid app

*2023-03-07*

Weaveit is s fine app and works well. Will not display wif files that contain more than I believe it’s 12 shafts but for most weavers that’s not an issue.

### 5/5 — Love iWeaveIt

*2023-01-18*

I have been using this app for at least five years and have found this one fits my needs. There are a few other weaving apps available, one of which I purchased and use far less than iWeaveIt. The app works on both of my devices, iPad and MacBook.

### 5/5 — Really good weaving app

*2022-11-19*

Great value for money for an app that allows you to edit a draft as well as to track threading and treadling. Simple but effective, and so handy to have a mobile device next to you to track treadling.

### 5/5 — Hex colour code.

*2022-07-07*

This app is helped me a lot in textile career. But there is function is missing on the app. I can’t use colour hex code to work on my colour code. And this is the reason i can’t visualise how fabric will lookalike. We will be obliged if you make it happen by giving us the power of putting our own exact colour palette.

### 5/5 — So convenient!

*2022-02-06*

With the add-ons, this is pretty complete and very easy to use.
