They love it, and I loved their reaction to all the pluses, bubble blowing, water flowing, finger painting, I knew of only 1 game, matching, but it was great. Don't know how to make it great again, can you help with the sound problem? Well, I took a chance and I also had problem with the sound. However, if you click on the links for the website they show you how to troubleshoot your issue. Lo and behold, sound! Even I had fun trying to figure out the “secrets” on the pages. Well worth the money. ### 5/5 — Great interactive storybook for preschoolers *2012-01-17* This is quite simply the best animated storybook aimed at preschoolers that I have found for the iPad. The navigation system is simple and intuitive, the pages all have just the right amount of interactivity, the games and activities are pitched at just the right level - just spot on in all departments. After months and months our three-year old still loves to play with "Jack" while other apps have fallen in and out of favour. ### 5/5 — Best Ipad Book We've Found *2012-01-05* I have about 30 children's books on my ipad and this is my 5 year old daughter's favorite. Each page has lots of different interactive elements. For example, on the first screen shot above, the three mice characters can be dragged into their shape and they will sing a song. Each touch of the drain pipe produces bubbles that flow out and "pop" when pressed. Each page has lots of elements - there is even a matching game on one of the pages where it looks like a man's hand holding three beans. The number of interactive elements are huge and this is the book that my daughter always goes to, even after about 4-5 months. She also loved it when she was 4. Another reviewer stated that she had expected more then animal noises, but there are much more than the animal noises, golden eggs play music, chicks sing, characters talk when touched and there are at least two long-ish games within elements that we have found. Amazing app - I came back to find it they have any others. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Love it but... *2015-04-16, version 1.3.4* Okay, this is a good app but they killed it with a very annoying, loud and obtrusive Easter egg. I searched the program and there is no way to disable it. If they fix this I'll come back and edit my review accordingly. Right now, as it is, I hate it. ### 1/5 — Sound not working for the last year - pls listen to your feedback ! *2013-06-01* This used to be a great app - used to be my child's favourite. But some update about a year ago introduced a bug and the sound on this app has not worked ever since. In fact, when I go to the app settings and switch the sound 'ON', then at that very moment, the app crashes. When I re-launch, the sound has been set back to off - when I try to switch it on, it crashes again without exception. I cannot believe the developer has not realised this problem yet. There are already reviews in here telling that the sound is not working. But no action from the developer or even acknowledgement of the problem. Yes, there are lots of pages but do they do anything? Sounds are assigned to animals and things. Touch them, you get a sound recording. Yippee. A few pages have shape-matching exercises or light coloring. Yippee. Graphics are dull. I hate to say it but this is soooo 2009. I am so disappointed by the low level of interactivity in this story. He is discovering things that I did not know about that are hidden within the pages of this story. I have previously shared this with my other three grandchildren over the years. I really hope this developer makes more like this one. Not only is it a beautiful book, the music is soothing, the voice actor is great and there are so many interactive elements it keeps it fun.
