## What is Jack O'Lantern?

Halloween: Jack O' Lantern is a Halloween platformer about a hero with a pumpkin for a head and a bag that is never full enough. Run, jump and stomp through ten long levels of mummies, fireballs and candy.

Of all the halloween games about pumpkins, this is the one where the pumpkin does the stomping. Collect candy as you go, then spend it on upgrades that make your hero faster, tougher and much harder to stop.

ONE LONG HALLOWEEN NIGHT
Under a huge full moon, you run across graveyards and down into a pharaoh's tomb.
• Jump on mummies to flatten them.
• Double jump over the wide gaps and bounce off springs.
• Ride moving platforms, and keep moving on the bricks that drop the moment you land.
• Hit blocks from below to smash bricks and fill your bag with candy.
• Hold the fire button to sprint and throw fireballs at anything that gets too close.
Take a hit and you lose your fireballs, so look out for the power-ups hidden in blocks: one gives the fireballs back, another restores a heart.

TEN LONG LEVELS
Each level is a long run with a checkpoint torch past the halfway mark, so one slip near the end does not send you back to the start. Mummies, beetles, vultures, rats, scorpions, carnivorous plants and giant rock golems stand between you and the goal. Clear a level to open the next, and come back any time to beat your best time or your candy record.

SPEND YOUR CANDY
Candy is more than a score. Five upgrades, each with several levels:
• Speed: run faster
• Jump: jump higher
• Fireballs: more damage, faster shots
• Extra heart: take one more hit
• Candy magnet: pull in the candy nearby
Every level can be beaten without upgrades. With them, it is a sweeter run.

TRICK OR TREAT, 15 TIMES
From Trick or Treat! to Pumpkin King, 15 achievements reward clearing levels, collecting candy, stomping monsters and finishing without a scratch. The stats screen counts every candy, stomp, fireball, jump and minute played, if you like to keep score.

PLAY YOUR WAY
On touch screens the buttons sit in a strip below the action, so your thumbs never cover the level. Make them bigger or smaller, change their opacity or switch to a left-handed layout. Keyboard and gamepad work on every screen, menus included. Screen shake and vibration can be turned off, and the game comes in 14 languages.

A PUMPKIN GAME FOR OCTOBER (AND AFTER)
If you go looking for halloween games every autumn, this one is a proper platformer rather than a coloring book: one of those spooky games that never gets truly scary, with crisp HD art, mummies to stomp and a pumpkin hero with a fire problem. It works just as well in March.

Carve out ten minutes, grab your pumpkin and go trick or treating. Halloween: Jack O' Lantern is one of those halloween games where every level hides another bag of candy.
