## What is Jackpota?

Spot it. Snap it. Know it.

Jackpota turns a photograph of a bird into an identification you can actually understand — and keeps every discovery in a private journal that lives on your phone.

HOW IT WORKS
Take a photo, or pick one from your library. Jackpota examines the bird's plumage, beak shape, head markings, wings and posture, then suggests the most likely species with:

• Common name and scientific name
• A Jackpota confidence score
• The specific visual features behind the match
• A plain-language description and typical habitat
• Alternative species when two birds look alike

HONEST ABOUT UNCERTAINTY
Birds are genuinely hard to tell apart, and Jackpota doesn't pretend otherwise. When a bird is partly hidden or two species look similar, it says so and shows you the alternatives. When there is no clear bird in the frame, it tells you rather than inventing a species. Confidence is always shown as a number you can judge for yourself.

YOUR OWN BIRD JOURNAL
Save any result as a sighting with your photo, your notes, the date, and optionally where you saw it. Search and filter your collection by name, notes, place, favorites, confidence or date. Mark the ones you love, confirm the ones you're sure about, edit or delete anything at any time.

NO ACCOUNT, EVER
No sign-up. No profile. No cloud library. Open the app and start identifying.

BUILT FOR OUTDOORS
A calm, high-contrast interface that stays readable in bright daylight, one-handed controls, and haptic feedback you can switch off.

PHOTO TIPS INCLUDED
Clear guidance on getting shots that identify well: fill the frame, avoid shooting through glass, skip heavy zoom, and capture the head, beak, wings and tail.

WHAT LEAVES YOUR DEVICE
Jackpota is local-first, and we are specific about the one exception. To identify a bird, your photo — plus your approximate location if you allow it — is sent to OpenAI for analysis, and a result comes back. That is the whole of it. Your saved sightings, notes, favorites and photographs stay on your device. There is no account, no cloud sync, and no external bird database. Identifying a new bird needs an internet connection; browsing what you have already saved does not.

Location is always optional. Jackpota only ever requests approximate location, you can decline and still identify birds, and you can remove it from any sighting or switch it off in Settings.

IMPORTANT
Jackpota offers a most-likely match, not a scientific determination. Please don't rely on it where a misidentification would carry real consequences — decisions about protected species, wildlife handling, or anything involving safety.
