### 1/5 — Never get a Jaguar

*2020-01-01, version 2.11.2.7*

If they put this little effort or expertise into the app and electronic interface then forget the rest. Honestly, pretty much every other car manufacturer is better in this respect and too many in others to make this a variable brand.

### 1/5 — App with iPhone XS Max on ios13 crashes Bluetooth connection

*2019-10-10, version 2.10.1.50*

So I had this app installed a couple of weeks before iOS 13 was released . I didn’t think it would be a problem however after upgrading, my jaguar f pace 2018 consistently dropped the Bluetooth connection & the phone would come up as an iPod! I checked apples
Site & found a lot of similar complaints. Some people stating jaguar won’t release a patch to fix for several months. I decided to restore my phone, Deleted this app & upgraded to iOS 13.2.1 & no longer lose connection.
Needless to say I’m NOT installing this app since it’ll lose connection!!!! None of the apps are any good
Anyways...

### 1/5 — Don’t waste your time....

*2019-09-28, version 2.10.1.50*

Almost a year ago I wrote a review about his app after about 2 weeks of use stating that this app isn’t as bad as all the reviews are making it be. A year later and I can honestly say....everyone was right. The problem with this app extends beyond the app itself. The true issue is the Jaguar ICT system. It is by far the worst infotainment I have ever used in my life! If you’re considering purchasing a Jaguar with the ICT system that does support CarPlay I have 1 word of advice - DON’T!!!! This app in no way, shape or form will provide anything resembling an enjoyable infotainment experience. I love the look and drivability of my Jag but I am literally counting the days until my lease ends. Never again will I skimp on an infotainment system to save a few bucks! And this app only makes the experience worst.

### 1/5 — Does not work with iOS 13

*2019-09-21, version 2.10.1.50*

I have a 2018 model Jag with ICT (not ICTP), and this does not work with iOS 13. Crashes the second you attempt to open an app. Will try again after getting the October 2019 ICT firmware update and allowing Jag to update the app.

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2019-09-14, version 2.10.1.50*

This app’s purpose is to connect your mobile device to the car and it does not do what it was designed to do.

### 1/5 — Worst app ever

*2019-07-23, version 2.10.1.50*

I have tried to use this app for 2 1/2 years. In the beginning it worked well with only a few bugs. But with each iOS update it has never been able to keep current. And for all practical purposes it’s been totally worthless and unusable for the last 14 months. Despite following dealership advice and deleting and reinstalling the app 3 or 4 times. The dealership acknowledges that it’s a software problem that the Jag corporate software vendor has not been able to fix for more than a year. As other reviewers have written, don’t waste your time even downloading the app. It’s useless. And the Hag executive who had the brilliant idea that JLR should create their own interface instead of using apple car play should be fired

### 1/5 — Update

*2019-07-16, version 2.10.1.50*

Be aware that if your car’s software has not been updated, updating this app may cause your car to display the dreaded “SOS limited functionality” message when plugged

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2019-04-15, version 2.10.0*

This app is the least functional car interface I have ever used. I have had my jaguar for about 9 months. I cannot do anything in regards to text messages or emails (the dealership told me the app “doesn’t play well with iPhones) the music interaction for iTunes for example is clunky and inefficient. And worse than all that is that it constantly disconnects me when I am trying to listen to a podcast. Basically anything to do with connecting to my phone either doesn’t work or works so badly that I give up on it. Why would jaguar create their own app instead of using the fully functional Apple car play or Google? Makes no sense. It’s incredibly frustrating in such and expensive and otherwise great car.

### 1/5 — If there were only a ZERO star rating option...

*2019-03-16, version 2.8.3*

Doesn’t consistently connect, and when it does, it randomly disconnects from my iPhone XS. Useless app. Apple should ban this app from their store until JLR can get it right.

### 1/5 — Worst possible app ever

*2019-03-08, version 2.8.3*

I think jaguar needs to invest in some developers that can develop apps that actually work properly. This is by far the worst app I have ever downloaded and used in my life. Please get rid of this piece of garbage.

### 1/5 — Very disappointing

*2019-01-21, version 2.8.3*

I have been using it for about 4 months. No support for common apps like google maps or Waze. Why would I buy subscription for an app like Sygic when I have alternative free and better navigation options.

Next is the app options for music, severely restricted.

If you force your system on to your customers at least make sure it is usable and provide support by continuous updates.

I don’t get a feel of a luxury car! Very disappointed. Waiting for apple carplay, hopefully that’s a solution.

### 1/5 — Junk in the iPhone

*2019-01-11, version 2.8.3*

If you are not going to provide Apple CarPlay then at least have a better alternative. Controls are glitchy, slow, and the interphase is very ugly on the eyes.

There is no ability to add apps that I use such as Google Maps and Waze or apple Weather app.

The apps that are available requires you to install it on the iPhone, I don’t like that.

Lastly, you can’t open many of the apps while driving.

No thanks UNINSTALL!!!!

### 1/5 — Useless

*2018-12-12, version 2.8.3*

It barely even syncs with any common applications such as google maps, Yelp, Waze, iMessages.. anything you use on the daily. Completely useless app and very disappointing for a luxury car.

### 1/5 — I found the solution.....

*2018-11-29, version 2.8.3*

I sympathize with each and every one you. There couldn’t be a worse app and user experience, UNTIL NOW!! Had apple CarPlay installed yesterday. Problem solved. HOWEVER, there is an update to the incontrol touch pro system, but if your not going to upgrade to CarPlay, then don’t do it. Ascetics are absolutely horrible. And I thought they couldn’t get any worse, silly me. SMH🤦🏻‍♂️

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2018-10-06, version 2.8.3*

Well I am a huge Jag fan (have had 5). My XKR was brilliant, my FType R is amazing. My etype is a classic.....
But this app is a complete embarrassment. It just doesn’t work, doesn’t do anything useful when it does, and is better avoided. It no longer connects with my iPhone anyway and wants me to update its software via some complicated process. I neither have patience nor the desire to experiment.

Cheap low end car rentals have better phone integration and facilities and significantly better and more intuitive UI.

Sorry Jag I won’t be buying (or even trying) again..and certainly could not recommend a new Jag to anyone based on this poor showing in a high end luxury car.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Apple CarPlay not there

*2023-08-01*

I bought the 2017 Jaguar F-type and after a month of disconnecting the previous owner from the car and adding me AND paying for the infotainment upgrade for CarPlay at a Jaguar dealership I still can’t get the CarPlay to show up and I’m stuck with the Genius navigation from 2017 because it won’t update….really expensive and now frustrating !

### 1/5 — How is this app even allowed

*2022-12-23, version 2.11.2.7*

The lack of privacy and the permissions required to use this app are frightening. Buying an aftermarket remote starter so I’m not stalked by Jaguar and all their 3rd party affiliates they sell user’s information to

### 1/5 — Trust the reviews

*2022-10-30, version 2.11.2.7*

I read the reviews before downloading this app and linking it to my Jaguar. However, I thought how bad could it be? TRUST the reviews! Worst interface ever and it really has zero point for existence. This deserves a review of no stars…but Apple requires you pick at least one star.

### 1/5 — Use your phone. System is terrible.

*2021-08-02, version 2.11.2.7*

Wasted a day upgrading this software a year ago. Jaguar’s answer to CarPlay. Actually it’s NO PLAY. Would give zero stars if I could. Rarely connects. And when it does, useless applications that will kick you off quickly. Sad because the F Type is such a nice car.

### 1/5 — Worthless

*2021-03-29, version 2.11.2.7*

Truly pointless app. Easier to use the phone thru Bluetooth. The app actually creates new limitations in functionality. If there is justice, developers have lost their jobs.

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2020-10-11, version 2.11.2.7*

This app is junk. The applications are mostly outdated. The choice is limited. Functionality it operates like a late 1990s computer screen with icons. Come on Jaguar. Such an expensive car with horrible head units and apps.

### 1/5 — Waste of Time

*2020-10-07, version 2.11.2.7*

The other reviews are right. This is a horrible waste of time. I downloaded it and within 30 minutes deleted it. This offers absolutely nothing. They could do a lot with it but, looks like they hired the wrong people. Don’t waste your time or storage space on your phone. Not worth it.

### 1/5 — UPDAE: Still the Most useless app!

*2020-08-17, version 2.11.2.7*

4 years of owning this car and ZERO new apps added. Dang car doesn’t even support latest iOS version and calls drop daily, system resets itself and still doesn’t work. Don’t waste your time on a jag.

What a horrible attempt at interfacing mobile phones with the car. One would think that if you were spending the money on a Jag you get a premium mobile phone interface. The selection of apps is poor and nothing being routinely added. The incontrol app requires your phone to be unlocked in order to work posing a problem with new distracted driving laws. Very disappointing since my wife's cheep Ford Focus has more useful features. Don't bother yourself with installing.

### 1/5 — Jaguar don’t want your business

*2020-08-09, version 2.11.2.7*

Jaguar don’t want you to buy their cars. That’s the only possible explanation for how poorly they are treating owners with this disgraceful piece of non-tech. I’ve used car play. It’s great. Go buy a car that has that system.

### 1/5 — No apps and no support

*2020-02-28, version 2.11.2.7*

Jaguar doesn’t support the app any more and the number of useful apps offered is zero.

Even iPhone functionality is poor because it keeps losing connection and needs you to reopen your locked screen while driving - BAD, UNSAFE IDEA!!!

## Most praised reviews (6 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — All these other reviews are unfair

*2019-10-21, version 2.11.2.7*

So many people on here are complaining about their car’s infotainment system. This is supposed to be reviews of the app, not the car. This app does everything it’s supposed to. It’s extremely useful, as you can see where the car is, honk the horn and flash the lights, see if the windows are closed and much more.

### 3/5 — Please Update

*2020-06-09, version 2.11.2.7*

Jaguar InControl App has so much potential. The Jaguar Remote app was updated and works flawlessly. Please give the same effort into Jaguar InControl to utilize unlimited functionality.

### 3/5 — Not working

*2019-11-29, version 2.11.2.7*

Wake up button grayed out. I had this turned off but it still went into this mode and know I can’t get the app to work. Keeps telling me it is asleep and will wake up when vehicle started again. Vehicle was started but app still shows dames message

### 3/5 — Needs more apps

*2018-10-14, version 2.8.3*

Is there a possible way to add more apps like Waze so they can work when connected the app should allow you to add and configure more apps in your car.

### 2/5 — Useless huge disappointment

*2019-03-20, version 2.10.0*

Its best use is starting your vehicle during winter. If your close enough to your car. Other than that the apps features are complete trash it constantly crashes and you’ll never be able use the other features such as unlocking doors an or open your trunk.

### 2/5 — Nearly unusable

*2018-03-08, version 2.7.4*

Any time I connect my iPhone X to my F-pace via USB, this app attempts to start automatically. I generally have to try two or three times before it stays connected and plays music. It works better on Bluetooth for some reason, but that’s not sustainable on longer car rides. Not sure if that’s an issue with this app or the car system. I’ve had rental cars that work way better. For the price of the vehicle and upgraded entertainment system, I would expect a much better experience.
